You did it again, Sam. Yet another wonderfully made video, detailing the costs that went into converting your campervan into a home on wheels. You not only possess the skills to do a build like this, but you also have the fine art of presentation. Thanks for sharing your knowledge and experience through these videos.
Hallelujah, finally someone talks realistically and very straightforward about the bottom line. How many videos have I/we seen that never address this issue? I like the cut of your gib.
So, here's my take on your breakdown. It was freakn awesome and for tha price you did all tha rite things. I personally think I would rather pay maintenance fees to keep my van home up than being stuck in one place. I'm gonna do my own built as well, what I have in mind will require some professionals to come in. This was a great deal of help thanks. Thumbs up and liked this one.
The addition of music really upped the production quality of your video. And thanks very much for the budget breakdown, I'm working on my own right now!
Hello Sam! First of all, thank you for your really well-made videos! I'm planning my own conversion at the moment and I'm still at the budget stage, which led me to your videos. I'm clueless when it comes to the electrical system (though fortunately, my father can help with that part) but your videos on the matter were soooo helpful and well explained, they helped me calculate my energy needs for what I want in the van for example, which I had a hard time doing by myself. This video is just as great. My build is gonna be a bit less expensive since I'm gonna buy a few things used / get them from friends and family members, some stuff I'm willing to compromise also, but it still gives me a really good idea of what to think about when making my budget. Also, I love that you go over safety and important details during your build videos. Things most people don't talk about. Overall, I'm really glad I found your channel and I hope you're enjoying your awesome van! You got a new subscriber here :)
well detail cost. Just as I est. Plus labor cost of $45/hr. You need to add your total hrs and non-recurrent engineer cost of one time charge (your design). So your van would cost of approx from $75K to $80K.
Sam - THANK YOU and want to say you have such awesome quality!! Thanks for the helpful series of videos, including this one. Your cost breakdown is helpful for budgeting. Keep up the good work. I am subscribed.

Vans are more expensive in America than the UK, cost ATM on eBay ,same specs as yours 15,000 dollers. I can't understand that as ford is American 😂. Great video 👍
Briar Smith and since it’s a DYI you won’t likely be able to recover your cost if you sell, also since it’s a DYI will your insurance cover the components let alone the value of your labor. Better off buying a class c which is all complete and totally incurable. Just my opinion.
Briar Smith in addition the van is a “commercial vehicle” you will have to go to your DMV and have it retitled as an RV, check with your state each one has their own regulations, you would want to do this for your insurance.
@@oddopops1327 dude relax. Do you flip out in person when you disagree with someone? hopefully not... anyways he's right that RV insurance is cheaper by like half the cost wdym raise rates
I am sure it is in US $, he is using ancient dumb units for measurements in Canada they are using scientific ones... BTW it is just a joke don't get mad 😂
No you cannot, especially now that they are in such high demand, maybe you can get a 10 year old class B conversion for around that price but new ones, like a Winnebago travato are at least double what this van cost

Love it! It’s such a reasonable budget and a reasonable build. Nothing fancy, but we’ll rounded!
Thank you so much for this very helpful breakdown.

Fantastic communication and data organization skills! Very concise too! Thanks!
I've told you a video like this would be great!! Thank you, again, Sam! 😎👌
Awesome video, very informative like all your videos. Your break down is really useful.
Your details are great. I would sure like to see a video on your roof rack build or maybe a list of the 80/20 parts you used. Thanks
With all that sweat equity, which I hope you enjoyed paying, you got a sweetheart of a travel van for the money.

Been watching your vids for a build out I'm planning. This is super helpful, thank you! Really great content on your channel.

So ur saying I can buy a UK van on eBay, ok but I think not
He bought it 3 years ago at that price.
It is nice 👍 but I wouldn’t go crazy 😜 like you I would get 20K van like you did n just buy everything from akia it will coast no more than 2K
Is spending 40k worth it for such a small rig? That's what I'm struggling with

@@oddopops1327 he's also right that it's harder to resell bro. More research for you.
It is if you dont want to drive a giant bus everywhere. Bigger isnt better
Thank you, I imagine that you have a VERY bright future!
Great style for cost breakdown.
2016 ford transit's have been having engine problems. Hope nothing happens to your van
Hey thank you so much for the breakdown, very helpful for my upcoming build! Are the prices in USD or Canadian? Cheers man, love the videos😁
I am sure it is in US $, he is using ancient dumb units for measurements in Canada they are using scientific ones...
BTW it is just a joke don't get mad 😂
Moser, Do you have a guesstimate as to how many hours you spent on the build? Thank you for this really detailed breakdown.
Sooo useful!!! Thank u for your video!!!!
You mentioned your 8020 roof rack, I need to build a custom rack for my next van build and I’m considering 8020. Any tips?
Nice video !!
Nice
With that money you can go to the dealership and buy a new converted campervan with guarantee and all that stuff
No you cannot, especially now that they are in such high demand, maybe you can get a 10 year old class B conversion for around that price but new ones, like a Winnebago travato are at least double what this van cost
Hi Moses , thank you for the great clear and well thought out content , Will you have a video detailing your DIY Roof rack build ?
