Oh mama. Thank you for showing the scotch! Nice to see Springbank and Longrow on the shelf
Any time!
Best Irish for a scotch drinker is Two Stacks CS. It was on the bottom shelf in the first section of Irish. I also had a fabulous scotch last night. Glenmorangie Signet Highland Single Malt. Deep rich chocolate note with coffee beans on the finish. Last the one thing you won’t find is Stagg. It’s fun hearing your reactions to T&W. Cheers
Yeah wish I had more time to go back, next time
13:12 Springbank 10 and 15 on the top shelf… orange and green labels. If there is an allocated Scotch, this is it. Small independent Campletown distillery that matures and bottles their own whisky on site. No added color, no chill filtration, 46%. Demand always exceeds the supply. The Longrow next to it (white label with gold lettering) is the peated version of Springbank.
Love peated! I am 6 hours away now, will have to try next time
Yea should have snapped up that Springbank 15
@TheAldawg77 I am going to look locally for that one If not, I may have my friend pick on up
@@MajorXero The Springbank bottles won’t last more than a couple of days… especially the 15 year old. Total Wine often lets you order online and hold for pickup, if there’s any bottles you regretted not getting while you were there.
@mjanovec thanks!
Love Total Wine. My got to for all my stuff. Have Specs, but prefer Total Wine.
Pretty amazing
Prices are MORE than at Total Wine in Sarasota, FL (just moved). Maybe it's the Tax. The selection is larger at that store, but NJ "Total Wine" has hard-to-find selection picks from the shelve.
The hard to find section could have been larger, but the store was huge
Lol tuned in just as the premier ended. We have Total in our AO now, they recently bought out Lukas Wine & Spirits. Big store with just about everything, but I noticed prices weren’t necessarily better than some of the smaller stores. I do like how they have lots of tasting stations, like the Costco of booze.🤣
The tasting was cool and the selection was amazing
Yup you definitley missed the ogd 114! Good job on the video!
Maybe
Total Wines have the biggest selection and they are on the shelves alphabetically. I have not had much luck with harder to find or allocated bottles there. Still Austin is the best TX whiskey, especially the Cask Strength. That sure looked like Old Grand Dad 114 on the bottom shelf next to the regular Old Grand Dad. 🥃
Didn't occur to me that they were in alphabetically arranged
@@davevogelsang6791 Better than Balcones 🌽corn- forward juice ( red label)??
If you are going to get a Still Austin, then do not get the Musician! Get the Cask Strength and not the store pick as those are known to be hit or miss. The one RJ got is a dud and so is the one that my local stores picked. Pass on the store pick and just get the regular cask strength and let it open up before you drink it.
Also, you should grab that Hemingway Rye. I think I saw it on the bottom shelf as you were walking around. Good stuff! Cheers my friend and enjoy the pours! 🥃
I am going to get my friend to back out there and take a picture
Total wine is the bomb.
If you like cask strength, high rye bourbons, Still Austin Cask Strength is amazing. One of my favorites
I will have to wait till Still Austin sends me some or they become more available in our area
If your looking for an Irish whiskey I highly suggest red breast 12. It’s excellent. If you enjoy that then next one to try is the red breast 12 cask strength. It’s everything great about red breast dialed up a couple notches
RB 12 will probably be my next one, and I love dialed up!
RB cask strength for me is the pinnacle of Irish whiskey. It's difficult to find a higher proof Irish and it delivers big time.
Hopefully you grabbed that OGD 114! Cheers
Sadly they were out
Bottom shelf at 8:55
I'm going to have to see if the total wine closest to me sells the Old Emmer. Martin also makes that Two Stars🥃
Very smooth for a 114
@@MajorXero BARTON, not Martin makes the Two Stars
@BourbonDrop I was like umm ok... 🤣
@@MajorXero 🤣🤣
If you're looking for a good Irish you should try some green spot.
I think you are the first person to say Green Spot. I need to find me a pour somewhere
You missed OGD114! 8:53 into the video, bottom shelf, 6th bottle to the right of the post (counting the bottle behind the post). While a traditional liquor store puts cheap stuff on the bottom shelf, that isn’t how Total Wine does it (for the most part). You gotta make sure you check all shelves at Total Wine. 🙂
Also, the “c” is silent in Kilchoman. 😉
I think we figured outnit was Hemingway rye not ogd 114. Thanks on the Kilchoman, I have a bottle I will be trying this weekend
@@MajorXero Nope, I can clearly see the slanted 114 number on the bottle when I zoom in. I see this all of the time at my nearby Total Wine, so I’m very familiar with the bottle. And it’s right next to the regular Old Grandad… exactly where it’s supposed to be!
Yeah missed the Ogd!! Glad you got some however! 18:48
@EnzoOkie we figured out it is Hemingway rye,, close
@@MajorXero Please zoom in. Clearly says 114.
15:10 If you can bump your irish whiskey budget up to $65, you can't go wrong with that Redbrest 12!
Redbreast 12 will probably be my next whisky, it is 75 plus in Memphis probably should have got it there
@@MajorXerospend the extra and go cask strength
@ryanparker4775 yeah I need to save up, also I really want to get a pour of it before I spend that kind of money
Amazing store! Like a target for booze! But, I still prefer to shop local and with the little man who spends their money in their own community.
Stick they have so much
Heard a lot about Wolcott rickhouse reserve. They also said don't try anything else 😅
They were sold out and I couldn't buy any
Wolcott rickhouse was the only one i liked!
@Bigcat253 good juice and price
Wolcott is terrible they are told to only recommend spirits and winery direct not the stuff people actually want 😂
Total Wine, so many choices and they will randomly have those special bottles just sitting on the shelf
My first time there pretty overwhelming
Very true. Found a EH Taylor Single Barrel Rye for $77.00 on the bottom shelf of a Maryland Total Wine last week.
@cali1cat111 saw one for 299 the other day
@@cali1cat111 laurel or Towson
Big fan of the Still Austin Cask Strength. It's surprisingly good, and I love it on a big ice block. It's a butterscotch bomb! Cheers!
Nice, I almost never add water or ice anymore to anything unless it is a scotch to change the chemical makeup. But if I ever get this, I will try that
Yeah TW has the largest selection and it can be overwhelming with everything to look at on their shelves. Sometimes you can time it when they have delivery trucks and get lucky with allocated bottles and good store pics.
We were there at night on a Saturday, and I would imagine the stock would be lower
For irish whiskey see if they have wolfhound
I will put it in the list
JTS Brown and the JW Dant are must haves! If you see the Old Taylor Handle for 28, it actually has a little oak in it, good easy mixer. The Still Austin is very good, get the cast or the SiB.
Yeah I am excited about the bJTS
JW Dant is what my Grandfather drank. So even though it's nothing special it'll always mean something to me.
@WhiskeyMyersour love ot! That is why I have Kentucky Tavern because that is what my dad drank
@@MajorXero The JTS Brown might be King of the budget BIB's, right there with Early Times but cheaper. For me it's even better than Evan Williams white label which most consider the gold standard.
@WhiskeyMyersour I picked up a bottle and will let you know
2:25 Horse Soldier bourbon on the bottom shelf. Shame on TW&M. Started by some Green Berets out of 5th SFG at Fort Campbell, KY. Love their small batch and barrel proof with the high wheat mash bill. Live in WA, but love to virtual bourbon hunt on YT. Thanks for the videos.
I have heard good things about them from other channels, not sure if I have seen it locally
Just opened one in Culver City home base
Lucky you
Still Austin is so good but get the Belle Meade!
Ok great!
@@jameswilson6770 I happen to have 2 btls. of Belle Mead, great, tasty stuff outta Nashville-- 1st one is Bottled at about 108 prf. Nxt. is cask strength 💪 guess which 1⃣ is the 'stuff'--108 proofer 🤣🤣
I have only had one drink of the belle mead I need to revisit it
All the Scotch My home store in Los Angeles
I am lucky to see three shelves
I spend at least 300 every time I have and spent too much money
I can see it
Passed the OGD 114! On the Bottom shelf under the NULU. 8:55
I think that was 1792, the bottles are very similar
I can’t believe he didn’t grab a bottle. It was right there!😮🤣
Yeah, the time stamps changed when it went from premier to normal video, so Ray is correct. In fact, looks like all OGD products are there on the bottom shelf, with 114 being the left-most one.
@Flint_Hyzermatic @Flint_Hyzermatic the bottles are kinda all over the place, pretty sure that is 1792. I spent an hour in the store pretty sure 😅 I would have seen it
Dude 1792 looks nothing like OGD 114. 1792 is screen printed on the bottle, whereas OGD 114 has a normal sticker label.
Long vid however enjoyed watching all the goodies.
Thanks!
Commenting on an old video but that Lazy River is really good.
I am in town!
you missed the old ganddad 114...it was right there
Funny thing is it was in frame right when he asked us to holler if we see anything he should grab. Oh, we love ya Adam!🤣
Ha ha Rusty still mad from last night I see
I am still traveling and ot looks like a brown smudge on my phone, I will have to check when I am in front of a computer, I did ask and they said they were out
Rusty, pretty sure that’s a Hemingway Rye. It’s moving a little fast and that is what I’m seeing. Hope that helps!
nope it was OGD 114
@@VicKinikin
Still Austin took some getting use to for me. Had a powerful final palette note that I wasn’t a fan of a first. But it grew on me.
There is a lot of love and hate for Still Austin, hard to commit to whole bottle.
Also, they have a section with 375ml bottles, good stuff hiding out there
Love the littles
Penelope toasted 😋
I don't think so I think that is 1792
It looked like a Hemingway Rye to me MajorXero. You were filming pretty quick in all your excitement!
Nope, that was OGD 114!
Powers Three Swallow is one of my favorite Irish.
Any peat?
No...single pot distilled malted and unmalted barley, aged in bourbon cask, finished in oloroso sherry casks. $45/50@@MajorXero
zsmurphy is right also Redbreast 12 is also very tasty.
It is on the list
You passed on the starlight cigar batch dude........
I tried it and didn't want to pull the trigger on it
Scotch is discusting but i dig your videos! Bourbon fan all the way!
Thanks! I bet I can turn you into a scotch drinker.
8:53 is the OGD 114......you missed it dangit....#lostbourbonfind..... i'm so disappointed
Not convinced you aren't trying to Gaslight me
The blue pinhook you need to get
You are the first to recommend this 👌, I will see if I can get it locally
Tell me you got the 114 at Total wine 😂
I didn't see! I went to three stores and didn't see any Blantons EH Taylor, Eagle Rare, or ogd 114
look at the vid its at total wine down on the bottom ha ha ha@@MajorXero
down tword the end on the bottom beside the regular OGD
Peerless double oak, GET IT
I have been thinking about it
I can’t believe you didn’t grab one of the Springbanks??? Also Redbreast 12, 15 and cask strength are all awesome!!!
I was traveling and didn't really know what I was looking for
I still need to buy some scotch!!
I was told Ardbeg.
Might want to try Macallan 12 sherry cask
@@MajorXero will do. Macallen is pretty prominent around here.
Go back and get the Dewars 32 year in the glass case!!! 13:56
about 7 hours away now!
Should have bought the Springbank 10 and 15…
Long way from Kentucky now
Total wine is a nice chain. Soon to be monopoly.
We don't have any close near us
What Canadian whiskeys do you have?
None sadly, would love to get a Caribou Crossing. What would you recommend
I’d be going for the high end single malt scotch
I will be back up there in a couple of weeks
@@MajorXero 🙂
Next week now!!
Im heading to Panama city beach Tuesday. Where should i do some bourbon hunting at? Going through Nashville and the whole length of Alabama.
Sadly that is not my area. I think Sean with Echos of Eternity Bourbon was just there
@@MajorXero ok. Ill look him up. Thanks

Nice
Where are you shopping 🛒 again? Didn't catch your local TW? Cheers from ETn, Smoky Mtns.area 😂
@richardbarrick1492 Lexington KY, where are you located
@@MajorXero Ck.my post! Just kidding-- we're about 70 mi. from Gatlinburg TN, Dollywood, Smokies---
Nice the land of flavored whiskey
Love total wine but their lotto sucks
Does it work the same at every store?
Don't buy any of those Canadian whiskies. I thought one of them was the "accidental" Crown Royal bourbon release from a few years ago. Canada cannot make bourbon like America cannot make Scotch. After reviewing your video I am pretty sure it was Crown Royal Special Reserve and imo it is not that special.
Thanks for the warning, did you see the video of the liquor store on the state line he had one of those
@MajorXero yes I did. I didn't hear the price. Coincidentally, I was returning home from Pigeon Forge right around the time you filmed that video. I am curious if I drove anywhere near that store. I stayed on I-75 pretty much the whole drive
No it is just north of Union City
smokehead is terrible dont do it.
Do you like peat?
