Ford Taurus AC compressor removal and Clutch repair

- So in this video I’m going to show you how to remove the AC compressor off of a 2001 2000 to 2003 2004 2005 2006 and some 2007 Ford Taurus Not only do I remove the AC compressor I also remove the clutch assembly because that was my real problem the car was not worth putting a new AC compressor in but just keeping it on the road and because I could not find an aftermarket pulley kit to put on it I ended up taking a clutch assembly off of a 2001 Ford escape and bolting it onto the clutch assembly for the Ford Taurus so if you’ve ever wondered how to take an AC compressor clutch off this is one of the ways that they are disassembled hopefully the video was informative and interesting. The AC compressor on this particular car was seized up but because the compressor clutch works under its own bearings it did not affect it all.

Great video man, it helped me get my 2007 Taurus back together after having to replace the a/c lines after a compressor failure. My orifice tube looked as bad ad yours did. Thanks again for great detail.

Yeah, I figured this would probably work on just about every one of them you know from that era of course because it’s more profitable for companies to make 1 million of something then make say 10,000 of something for one particular thing and when they can make parts of the compressor, the same they will do that the body of the compressor could be different, but the clutch will more than likely be the same across several makes and models
A very valid point that I probably didn’t think of back in the day when I made this video even though I do remember this video and I like it I thought it was a good simple video. I don’t know how fast I went through the process but still good information.
I am going to be doing this job on my 03 Taurus sometime before winter ends. The AC works, but it seems the pulley/clutch on the AC compressor is making lots of noise. I looked up various ways of doing this job, such as dropping.the subframe, and this way BY FAR looks to be the easiest. Thanks for the video, it is appreciated!

I need help my clutch top plates bolt came off it's on a 2005 ford Taurus could anything be bad on the clutch caused it it has 32k miles in October 2019 I dont know how to address it should I just put it back on with a new bolt?

Them damn things were good cars ….. I had one with 70,000 miles on it one time I wanna say it was like 2013 or 2014 in the car was a 2007 so it was the last year of the old body style and I couldn’t give that damn thing away but man it was a good running and driving car
