- Rivals 2 could end up taking the mantle of "Best Platform Fighter"!
And this is my quick declaration of admiration towards such a game.
I freaking love platform fighters, and I've sunk unholy amount of hours in quite a few of them!
YES! I'm still in the honeymoon phase with this game!
SURE! No one knows what the future has in store!
Anything can happen!
BUT! I wholeheartedly believe in the sheer potential Rivals 2 exudes.
It hits all the right checkmarks and it's just straight up fun as hell to play.
My experience in every way leaves me feeling no less than completely impressed with both Rivals 2 and the dev team, Aether Studios.
I'm excited to see Rivals 2 rise up to the top!

For about a year, I've been considering making videos kinda like this one, or at the very least going into detail on why I love a particular game and such!

Rivals of Aether and Rivals 2 are the only non-Smash platform fighters that I truly feel like I can really sink my teeth into, and savor every single bite.
I'm very excited to see what the future has in store for it!
Rivals 2 basically being the love child of Rivals 1 and PM, while also having some cool new shit of it's own is just so perfect for me, considering my 2 favorite plat fighters of all time are Rivals 1 and PM. Rivals 2 is gonna be something really special.

Rivals 2 just hits all the right checkmarks for me, and every Beta Weekend makes me more and more hungry for the game to finally come out.

@@UmiOnami Hell yeah dude. I still remember discovering PM back in the pre-3.0 days, and I'll still boot up P+ from time to time. Such a shame Nintendo killed the scene for it basically overnight, and it's never quite recovered ever since.
Oh how nostalgic!
For me, I believe I discovered PM like 2 days before 3.0 came out, by coincidence. And the rest was history.
I'm very grateful towards all the work that is done with P+. I'm truly happy that it exists.
But thanks to Nintendo and its constant antagonism towards all fan-made stuff and all the crap that came from such antagonism, there will always be an aching in my heart for the PM that used to exist.

I've never resonated with a game as quickly as I did when I first played Rivals 2. It was immediate.

This game is basically a what if Nintendo actually understood and cared about their competitive community.

I never noticed.
At the time (which was like only the second Beta Weekend, so everything was still really new), Skyjay was definitely the second-best Fleet I fought, and he was freaking tough!
Though seeing that he recently got 9th in Rivals 2 at Supernova, it's safe to say that he will absolutely wipe the floor with me if we ever match up again.
Which I hope we do!
