I'm absolutely loving the graphics update, I just hope that my (almost prehistoric) GPU can do this update justice. I absolutely love Raceroom and as much there maybe better sim's out there, Raceroom is my favorite for it's emersion and variety.
I never thought the game looked all that bad, this update slightly improves the look, tho I was really hoping for some more enhancements like day to night, DX11 and some new interior textures. Been waiting for an engine upgrade since 2017 #Soon! 😂

People think it's this amazing next gen engine and yes it's good but it's made to make it easier ok devs. Which means corners cut not as much fien tuning and they don't go around optimization areas like they used to which is why every single game on ue5 is so so demanding but still so many flaws. The problem is the community eats up games like wukong made on it. When I see tons of flaws. And the textured on ue5 are horrible lol. Flat and soft

Whilst there's something that looks 'smoother' about it and overall if feels like a step forward, there's something about the old lighting that feels more like is to be trackside on a hot summer's day - I was out watching rallying last weekend and thinks like the specific point of reflection from the sun on the screen and the 'parched' feel to the grass look more realistic on the old graphics to me, even though the new one is much less jarring and the overall feel is more natural.

@@porthmeor1 AMS2 still after all these years didn't figured out all physics flaws of that Madness Engine, it looks good but AMS1 still to this day drives miles better and this is more important - also u can't just get this engine like that it isn't "free to use" like UE so paying fee for engine and then hiring many people that understands that engine just isn't possible at this stage

Theres been time progression for many years, just limited from sunrise until sunset and that wont change with this update. Time progression could cause some performance issues tho which iirc should now be fixed
What I think is crazy is that the FPS isn't in the multiple hundreds. When I first tried R3E with a 6600k and gtx 1070 I got almost 150fps. I am wondering what happened in the past 5 years that made a 4080 not be able to run the game at like 600fps. To be fair when I was looking at fps I was playing at 1080p, it could be that they were testing at 4k.
This was always a bit of an annoyance with RRE.. and although it was a bit of a fiddle, it wasn't the worst.. BUT.. Since I last played, a tool called Resize Raccoon (Which is a bit like the old Simple Windows Runtime Editor but with better functionality) has arrived and I'm going to see if it will work with that instead.
Also update went ultra settings on my poor gtx750 ti sc . 30 FPS. Versus 61 on old basic settings. Suprised that new version 30 FPS plays and looks amazing. Except sky was a bit grainy?. Dropped reflection down and FPS went up nicley. I run P1 car.
I had quit the game and now I'm back thanks to these improvements , even better when you launch the game in DVKX mode which overwrite the old DX9 engine (Steam laucher/raceroom/property/general/DVKX. Cheers
No, R3E doesn't support more than one light source (the sun) due to engine limitations so the headlights/taillights were always just a more vibrant texture/fx when activated. But with the new update they are infinitely more visible than in the old version which is nice to see.
I don't see any graphical improvement. I just see that they darkened the colors, nothing more. Honestly, I don't like it. This game needs to be redone in its entirety !!
Still dx9, so this is just a reshade really. Still the same models, same exhaust backfires, same generic dashboard for a lot of cars, no day and night cycles or weather. A pc game should at least do what consoles are able to do. Only 1 laser scanned track. Re3 is my favorite sim, but they could do much better. Atleast dx11 and day / night....
and i cant see the good graphics, my PC is running the game absolutely fine on like all out graphics, highest on every setting. with a GTX 1060 running still. pretty well, yet my monitor is a 1080P 60Hz office one, phillips 223V, so everything still looks pixelated :C
After that update, the game constantly crashes and gives me the code 0xc0000005 They did an excellent job and I read on steam that people have problems after that update
Doesn't look like this update went very smooth for KW and somewhat an embarrassment, having to bring it down for maintenance not long after launch. Little noticeable improvements to graphics and many bugs now exist. I loved this title, but not anymore.
I hoped like even rf2 with clouds to have sometimes sunny parts just coming through in some corners, but everydone is fully covered it seems. And then everylap this changes depending on how the cloud moves.
Well, looks nice. But: What about physics? If you like only Graphics you may choose Forza Horizon. If you want a real driving sim you need more. Reference is still rF2.

This game try to survive because they are unable to make things working. Its simple. The game need more free content were people can race until they decide to buy something. I bought few cars but still no people to race with.
what's the point of it all? it's the same as always, a game publisher's product manager is totally out of touch with the world but convinces everyone with a pointless idea. what's the reason why race room crashes so badly? certainly not the graphics. the player base, the pvp possibility, racing against each other with licence and points, the possibility to race together against ki. none of this is finally being modernised. but the graphics? sorry what a bullshit. but sure, they can do other things too. why not. so drivers keep smiling and saying... i don't care i'll keep on driving iracing anyway.

UE5 is as garbage as UE4 or even more Rennsport use UE5 and looks worse than ACC and ACC had a lot of issues with graphic too Kunos also goes away from it for AC Evo which shows clearly that this shit doesn't work as intended

Yeah this game, Automobilista 2, Assetto Corsa with CSP are all looking at you iRacing.

yeah I'd imagine 4k, I was benchmarking a couple of days ago, maxed out @ 1080p on a 6800xt I was hitting 400fps

I've not tried it with RaceRoom but you can use a little program called SRWE to run triple screen without using surround.

I see the differences, but its hardly a massive improvement.. honestly for the most part it just looks like a filter and some actual clouds.
The textures on the das are really unnoticeable in the first comparison. The old one looks better in that sense.
