I actually quite like the stock exhaust. I'm not really a fan of loud exhausts, having said that it is a little too quiet, however it's good to hear that the sound improves over time 🙂 I've only done about 1500 km but I thought it was getting a bit throatier. By the way I had the DNA air filter fitted before I picked the bike up so that definitely helps. Thanks for your videos 🖖😃
Yep,I’m in no rush to swap out my stock exhausts either, but was shocked when I weighed them the other day. 5kg each! So that is 10kg of the 240kg just in the silencers. Thanks for the support 🙏
Factory exhaust systems are designed to please people who sit behind desks that are offended by the sound of their own farts. They don’t ride, they don’t care they just legislate for a price that’s the bottom line
I do question if part of the catalytic converter is in the rear silencer? Does any one know? They are extremely heavy at over 5kg each. I know the stainless steel straight though ones would be much lighter. What would be the reason of making them so heavy?
@@Teacher-T-Thailand i am not entirely sure but it could be that the thicker steel helps subdue the sound a bit further. the stock exhausts also come with another sheet of metal on top to manage heat, which probably adds some weight.
I definitely agree to getting an aftermarket exhaust with the DB killer in it & the DNA performance air filter. I, also would be looking to change the rear shocks & tires. The Super Meteor 650 is the model I'm looking at to purchase & the belt drive with a 1 "tooth" larger front drive gear! Great bike by far! Doug🏍️
Thanks Doug. The belt drive can not cope with a larger front pulley. But the rear one is made smaller to allow for the tooth conversion you want. It’s what I have on my bike current,y. 8,000 km on belt now. So so smooth. 🙏
I was having a look at Hitchcocks last night and they have an aftermarket exhaust for the Super Meteor that looks exactly like the OEM, but has the usual aftermarket qualities of being free flow and has removable baffles, so I ordered a pair 😁
@@Teacher-T-Thailand I have now installed the slip-on mufflers onto my Super Meteor and as promised here are my thoughts on them... They make a very satisfying growl but are not overly loud, but just right. But the most pleasing aspect is that the throttle is so much more responsive, both on the acceleration and the deceleration. Very very noticeable indeed. I would thoroughly recommend them. I also like that they look almost exactly like the OEM mufflers. I'm very happy with them!

Guys the main reason why stock exhausts are hella heavy compared to any aftermarket one is because of heavy R&D R.E pour in it to make proper gases filtration chamber inside the exhausts so that extremely toxic gases would be either eliminated or converted into eco friendly gases inside exhausts before releasing them into the air to maintain pollution as for aftermarket ones are mostly designed to produce bassy and heavy sound but stocks are designed for controlling pollution and balanced sound so that neither your bike produces too much air pollution nor noise pollution 😅😅😅so i humbly request you guys to indeed buy aftermarket ones for your taste but changed them back to stock sometimes later on.

I have a pair of Tec bike parts "Cannons" on my super meteor with the DB killers removed.
