I have been asked why it gets so dark in the room near the end of the video. I had the blinds open and several lights on to illuminate myself and the objects involved in the starting of the fire, but once I left the fireplace, I closed the blinds and turned off the lights so that the fire itself would show better.
That is very cool. I didn’t know about the fire starter. We would usually use newspapers to get the fire going.
firestarters are overpriced, so I take one of those wax logs and break off a tiny piece. It's really the same stuff.
I was using the fireplace inefficiently and waking wood. Now I've learned.
Thanks for help.

What kind of wood is used?
Don't remember, probably maple around where I live. But the type of wood won't matter if the log placement is good.
Can't be real! :O
