This was the exact video I was looking for. I was concerned my Paris market seedlings were lagging, but they look right on track. Thank you!
So glad it was helpful. Happy growing and thank you so much for your comment!
great, another pack of seeds i have to buy now. they look great
Definitely worth trying. Thank you so much for your comment!
I have the same type of wine-barrel container. These look so cute!
They are perfect for these short carrots. Thank you so much for your comment!😊
I really enjoy how much I'm learning from your videos. Thank you for your posts.
So glad you found them helpful. Gardening is definietly a learning process and I keep learning everyday too. Thank you so much🙌😊
Great video. Straightforward.
Glad you liked it. Thank you so much!
Pleasant activity!
Thank you so much!
Thank you. I plan to grow these in a window box. They say it's great for container gardeners. I came from your other carrot video. I have wine barrel containers for my other carrots. I have already got some 35 day carrot seedlings going. But carrots are 56% more expensive now... So I'm trying my best to grow them too. 😂
Yes, these are perfect carrot choice for containers. Thank you for sharing and happy gardening!
Nice carrots..
Thank you so much!
I have the same variety growing in an old water tank...
It was removed in two halves from the attic and i "put it back together" and filled it with sand and clay topsoil (and some wood and rocks to help drainage at the bottom) raised the whole thing on bricks...and my carrots are coming up awesome...
They really will GROW ANYWHERE.
By "put it back together" ...
I mean it'll never hold water again... But it does hold a quarter ton of dirt and wood and rocks...
Then again that's ideal for carrots.
Sounds great. Thank you for sharing!
WOW they look amazing.
Thank you so much for your comment!
Beautiful shape
Thank you very much for the comment!
Beautiful job💕
Thank you so much😊
Cute carrots now I have to grow them 😂😅
Cute and very easy to grow. Try them. Thanks for the comment.
got the seeds planting them now.
Very exciting. Happy growing!
Красивая морковь 🥕.
Thank you so much😊
These taste great. Truly carroty flavour. I'm surprised how little you thin these and the long ones on your other video compared to the label advice. I'll be a bit less aggressive. I have a clay soil so grew these in a low raised garden bed. I think i should have been more patient and allowed them to grow fully (it was my first time) so results were mixed 😅. I'll try to be more disciplined this season. Thanks from NZ.
You are right, the seed labels usually advice on growing plants more apart, but I've found that plants can do fine if you miss the marks by few centimeters. This is true not just for carrots, but in general for all vegetables. I have grown carrots for years and still rush to harvest them tiny😁 so I'd say for the first time growing them, you did a great job👏. Happy gardening and thank you so much for your comment!
@@TowardGarden thank you for your nice response. I watched another one after yours from Ripe Tomato Farms and he had a good idea. To do a first thinning then leave to grow, then pick the biggest ones which means you get a crop of baby carrots then the rest have room to mature, do your second thinning late not early. Makes sense to me. Any pitfalls?
@@cyclingsfatsuma9808 I usually don't do that but that will work too. There are many many ways of gardening, so why not trying it. Thanks for sharing.
I’m growing these carrots this season. My dog and I love munching on them.
Fantastic. Happy growing and thank you so much for your comment!
I’m trying these for the first time, hope they turn out as well as yours
Sure they will. Happy growing and thank you for sharing!🌱😊
🧡
Thank you😊
🌈💚🍀
Hello, the barrel that you are using for these carrots, does it need to have holes down below for drainage? I'm a rookie and want to learn lolz
Hello. Yes, definitely pots need to have holes for drainage. Not just for carrots but for any plants in a pot drainage is essential. I used 1/2" drill bits to make 8-10 holes. hope this helps and thank you for getting in touch!
@@TowardGarden the barrel that I got from Sam’s only have 2 premade holes so thank you for letting me know that I need at least 6 more 😅.
@@lpthao1987 Yes, that is very common. I often end up adding more holes. happy growing!
What kind of fertilizer did you use?
Carrots usually don't need fertilizer specially this variety that grow quicker and smaller. But if you want to use a fertilizer, bone meal is a great choice. Just avoid any high-nitrogen plant foods. Thanks for visiting.
Great harvest! what zone is this carrot.?
If you mean the gardening zone, I am in 9b. Thank you so much for your comment!
@@TowardGarden ; can you give the timeframe from sowing to harvest please?
Please anyone where do I buy seeds and gardens tools online and ship to Nigeria
You need to check online store like amazon or eBay if they ship to your area. There are few seed suppliers that ship seeds internationally too. (check www.rareseeds.com/ordering-info fro example) You also need to check your local regulation regarding seeds. Thanks for visiting.
I've tried them many times this year but they didn't germinate/didn't really grow. I guess it was due to insufficient sunlight
It also might be due to sowing seeds too deep. Another possible reason might be that you just got a bad batch of seeds (which is very common when growing from seeds). I suggest to get a new seed packet from another vendor and replant them. I hope this helps and thank you for visiting.
@@TowardGarden Thank you I'll tried that next year ☺️
