This would be a good one to go a little further with than usual. She's a runner and pretty damn solid for the age. Get a fuel tank, tires and brakes, and see how she does on the old back roads. I have a '56 3600 3/4 ton. Sat about as long as this truck and had about the same amount of rats nest. Fortunately she turned out really solid. Driver's floor pan is not rusted through, and it's not even pitted. Well underway on a full original restoration.

Absolutely bloody love this channel. As a bloke from across the pond, I’m amazed that these old Chevy and Ford trucks keep getting pulled out of the woods and barns, even just within small areas of the states. JMS doing Gods work pulling them out and getting them back on the road. How much would an oily rag like this be worth, do you reckon?

In my area trucks like this pup up for sale for anywhere between $500 to $5000 depending on how functional it is. Most of them end up being yard art outside of businesses since a billboard can be added to the back pretty easily. Pickup trucks are more expensive though since more people want to drive and restore those.

Hey Mr. Jennings, I bought a 1957 that came off an Air Base in California. It didn't have a speck of rust on it, but it had 10 coats of paint. I got it from some guy who finished his stint in the AF and he bought it from the base, to drive it home instead of buy a plane ticket. It had a 265 V8 with 3 on the tree. I customized it extensively by removing all the paint and putting Burgundy on it. Put a couple bucket seats in it, carpeted the floor and real wood paneling on the doors. White wagon wheels w/ fat off road tires and a white tonneau held on with those push on grommets. The Sec of State wanted it weighed and it came in at 3500Lbs. Eventually the motor came out and I put a 440 w/ Torqueflite from a 1968 Dodge Charger in it. The rear axle pinion gear wore out, so it got a Chrysler 8 3/4" with a 3.55 sure grip. I'll tell you what: At 3500 Lbs it was quick! And you can ask my brother-in-law how fast it was, it scared him. I used to cut traffic with it running between towns where I was working. I eventually gave it away to a cousin. It was a really cool truck! Thanks for bringing back the memories. You will have something special if you want to, I sure did. ben/ michigan

I’d give anything to have another un violated one that still has the push button start next to the gas pedal where it is supposed to be.
