Me to, my grandpa bought a 1977 dodge power wagon w200 7-8 years ago for 500$ and drive it home. It had surface rust and a rust hole in the floorboard with 84k miles on it. He changed the fuel tank, carburetor, fuel pump, and it runs AMAZING now. He gave me the truck last year so I brought it to my house sanded it down, and painted it black. It doesnt look like the best paint job, but it's better than it was. And I personally am very happy with the truck.

This is a little trippy to me, I remember very well going to the Chevrolet dealership in 1981 with my parents to buy a new car. I was 11, trucks just like this one lined up on the lot brand new. And now, they are sought after classics and some are derelicts like this one disintegrating in a field. I am old, man.

Yes my 81 Scottsdale is a two tone. White cab top and medium blue middle and white bottom. Standard brakes with AM only radio. Which I still have in my garage. I still have my spare tire bracket It never fell off. They say about only 20% of these truck still have the original spare tire bracket. I bought my 81 back in 1991 with 123k on it. Now I have 450k on it. It’s been sitting in the backyard since 07 and I just now am starting to restore it. Mine doesn’t look this bad. Got some can rot to take care of.

In the 1980’s I had a 350 that had a rocker out of adjustment. The knocking peened the oil hole in the pushrod closed, and then proceeded to peen the pushrod into itself until it finally was too short to adjust anymore. I was on a road trip, lucky for me I was near a Chevy dealer and he very kindly allowed me to scavenge a pushrod from an old engine out behind the service department.

Got the same truck. 305 or 350? I had a 305 in mine until one of the cam lobes went flat. I could’ve fixing it and drove it longer, but I wanted more power, so I replaced it with 350 with 350 hp. I was lucky if that 305 was producing 140 hp, if that. 😊 Bought it in 91 my first vehicle. I also put the 91 Suburban grill in mine. Looks really good with that newer grill.

One thing I've thought of while watching a lot of your videos where the vehicles have something that isn't frozen/seized up or in "better" condition than it should be otherwise, is kids and young teens periodically playing in them trying to crank them over, mashin' brake, gas peddles etc. I spent a lot of my childhood summers staying with my mom on the families old farm property and doing those same things with old forgotten vehicles in the woods with that childhood hope of being able to drive them, being young. Just a nostalgic thought, I know there are innumerable factors but you never know, that could one of them.

Do you fix them and sell them on or just buy them to see if the engine works? 😅

Are u really gonna not continue working on the 29 GMC and get it driving and fixed up again? I think most people are really wanting you to focus on that, because that's quite rare a truck that sits that long fires up again. I suggest you focus more on that. I think the views speak for themselves.

That could be a good Ol truck! Sounds real good and seems to run pretty good. I would keep it and fix on it a bit. Even if it is a 305, that would still be ok. Great video

Time for the JMS drinking game.
One shot for "ool", "kool", and "set the world on fire". Two shots if the car actually catches fire. Call an ambulance if the car catches fire while the dodgy petrol feed is still running.
Love your videos, but they're really bad for my liver!

"Ool", LOL 🤣. I've teased him about that too. Poor boy can't pronounce OIL 🤦‍♂️😂. Or aluminum FOLE, or an ignition COLE, or tilling the SOLE, LMAO!
