Get some Dutchies and Scandinavians in to test these. They love liquorice. I was genuinely salivating watching this and need to try some of these myself. Side note: liquorice is a term used to describe many candies but there are quite a few different types. The main ingredient in actual liquorice is licorice root. Anise is often added, as is salmiac (sal ammoniac or ammonium chloride). All three are very strong flavours, as you can see in this video. The Nordic/Scandinavians use a lot more salmiac, which is super salty and makes your mouth pucker. The Danes have a candy that is liquorice coated in chocolate, which should be illegal it is so good. The Dutch use a lot more licorice root and call it "drop". There are countless variations in the Netherlands, from sweet to salt, soft to hard, sugared, flavoured, the lot. Anise is often used as well but not as the main flavour. This is more common in drinks like Pastis, Sambuca, Ouzo, Raki and more. The Ricard is NOT meant to be drank straight. It needs to be diluted, as it's very concentrated.
Same in the Netherlands, some of the Dutch speaking part of Belgium and a bit in Germany. They're all different though. Raki and Ouzo isn't liquorice, it is just the anise, like Pastis in France. Some smal shops in the Netherlands still sell stick of licorice root, which you chew to get the flavour out. Very strong but really good. It is a actual root, not some manufactured sweet. People use it to flavour their tea in the Netherlands as well, although no very common.
