I hope you enjoy this VERY chatty and very simple junk journal tutorial made using an old padded mailer. I know we all love to purchase from Amazon and have tons of these mailers laying around so lets upcycle them into primitive, vintage style junk journals.This is the main tutorial but I will be posting more Shorts here on UA-cam showing howe I embellish and decorate this journal to finish it it! Thank you so much for doing this junk journal tutorial! I watch you all the time and I am subscribed to you but I just don’t comment. I LOVE making junk journals. It is such a great hobby and when I fill them, like my December daily and put all of our pictures in and journal my husband just loves it.
He will go back years and look at them. Journals are such a great keepsake.
Our oldest son (32 yrs old) just got married and I am in the process of making them a wedding junk journal. It’s a challenge for sure, but a lot of fun.

New to your channel. Very lovely and explained well. On my 4th journal ever and always looking for new ideas. Made them for 3 ladies so far now this one will be for my son in law as he will be laid up after a surgery. I figured why not and am adding lots of fun things and photos. I really love this and have set aside a mailer so I can make one. I also love primitive but have been doing mostly shabby chic. Ready for a change!

I love using padded envelopes as a base for journals! Also, I've only ever sewn the binding once. Ive never had a problem.

I think this may be journal I am looking to make. I had an idea today to make a junk journal in which to put some of the "old time" photos that I got from my mother. My children will have no use for them when I am gone, but maybe if they find a journal they will want to keep it. Many of the photos do not have the name of the person so I have no idea if they were family or friends. I don't have a mailer. Not sure if I buy one from the post office if it will be too yellow and not match the tape. Will see how I do. I made my first journal last week. I only have done the outside. I used a cereal box and covered it in fabric. I think I am becoming addicted!
