- "50 Ways to Leave Your Lover" by Paul Simon performed by Phish, learned by the band right before the show. Not perfect, but that's exactly what I love about these guys. Beautiful song on a perfect August night at the Bowl. Please come back, Phish!
One of the more underrated moments of 3.0, at the very least. Iconic drum rhythm created by one of the 🐐 drummers, Steve Gadd, with Fishman paying tribute to him perfectly - quite literally with the shout out to Gadd and Paul Simon, and musically by nailing the beat while singing. I’m a drummer and believe me, that’s not an easy thing to do and Fishman makes it look easy... on his practice kit nonetheless. What’s not to love about this?
If you do not love this, you just don't get it. Phish does it all for the Phans... Nothing better than the comic relief of fishman owning this. Like if you tucked in your shirt
I remember just blown away by CKs lights unbelievable use of the shell
great show. one of many highlights of a superb second set.
Now if only they could cover Graceland, I'd die right at the venue. Gratefully!
This was my first phis concert!!! love them!!
glad to see these guys still having fun....
I was at this concert!!! first phish concert ever, thanks david!!
hearing this last night blew my mind. such a great show! so bummed its over :(
epic light show
This was solid! What a fun show.
Page gets SO DAMN FUNKY on that keyboard in the beginning. Almost as good as makisupa policeman at bethel ny this year!!!!! :)
It was pretty awesome
Jon Fishman owns face!
this show was so much fun, great vid man! Fishman stolethe show with this interlude, Trey a close 2nd with filthy shredding of Julius and entire 2nd set..
Fish on the mini drumset! Awesome video
wonderful cover!
50 ways to leave your lover... Universe is with me. (First)
That pattern is hard to play WITHOUT singing!!!! Took me a while to get it down....
Thank you for posting. What a night, eh?
@Kentalope It's the drugs man. Fine on my end. HA HA LOL! No, that is a bit unusual. I have never seen that before.
@briandrum1 Was trying to figure out who you were implying might be 2nd ahead of Fish. I put Levon pretty high on my list, but it might be more because of his voice.
Not only is this groove a tough one to get right, but trying to sing the tune while pulling it off is a bitch!! Steve Gadd is the man, w/ Fish coming in a close second...or maybe even third....either way...Fishman's the MAN!!
@terrapin8654 dude they've shown the southeast plenne of love this summer.. this is the only show in the southwestern US this tour.. i love in phoenix.. this is all i get
i got no vocals in my monitor.......SSSSORRY!
I was singing along XD
Not satirical like Ween but light hearted approach still with technical skills and gentle post modernistic flavour. Pretty cool really. A tiny little part of the pop history canvas that hadn't been touched until they came along I'm wondering.
CK5 MVP
Phuck Yeah!!!
@mike10s19 What about Levon? He's a slickster on the kit, but in my opinion, not one of the all time greats. Plying drums and singing isn't too hard...except when there's a groove like this involved...:-)
@mike10s19 Levon is definitely the man. I'm not sure who I'd put second on my list, that's why I said second or third....There's too many that could be second. Gadd is the groove master, and I approach my drumming similarly to the way he does....and David Kemper who was Garcia's drummer from the 80's to a year before he died...That guy is slick. as. fuck!
sound cuts out halfway through
@briandrum1 Levon Helm?
nice viewcount n00b!
Hot
haha FISHMANNNN

@puertoricanTEA Phish
