Just booked a trip for me and my gf with Paddlin Madeleine for this Friday! Can't wait to be back in Key West!

Favorite words to hear! "No real agenda"
haha right! love those days!
This! Haha. Love that signature line
Always love the fact that you don’t waste any parts of the fish and truly tries to utilize every part of the fish. Keep living the dream for us!
We do our best to use it all. Lots of good stuff on there. We still feed the canal critters from time to time
@@KeyWestWaterman There are always going to be scraps that are more palatable to the canal critters than they are to you and hey, even canal critters gotta eat.
I do agree with OP, though. Everything about your videos reflects a respect for nature and a desire to not be cruel or piggish.
Hiii Thai!!😊
I love fishing!!!
@@MamaO251 hi
Jebus save us! I wish I had your life! LOL! As others wish they had mine!
On the subject of ASMR videos, your narration is pretty much the epitome of that, and I find your narration calm and enjoyable. An incredible, welcome change, to the guys that seem to think they need to be shouting out about how great "This" is, for every minor thing they video!
I really enjoy seeing you on these trips where you are just out hunting around, and you are covering what is going on with the narration!
really appreciate the positive feedback! thanks so much
@@KeyWestWaterman i fully agree with this person ^ - your underwater voice overs are so relaxing, along with the underwater sounds
You are such a joy to watch, a true craftsman. Thank you so much for sharing y'all's experience!! Best channel on UA-cam!
really appreciate that! thanks so much for tuning in!
Great narration! Knowing what you are thinking while you are down there and why you are thinking it makes the video much better.
love to hear that, thanks so much for tuning in
You two live a beautiful life! Blessed to have each other to share those memories on the water!
couldn't agree more! no complaints
Agreed. Life’s not about Maseratis and Rolexes, it’s about experiences. If you’re having fun and eating well with someone you love, you’ve got this meaning of life thing figured out.
AMAZING VIDEO Aaron. Very professional and tactical spearfishing. I enjoyed fully. Great cleaning and cooking 🍽 as well 🤜🤛 Thamks for sharing
Glad you enjoyed it thanks for watching!
Just love how conscientious you are. No doubt you’d surface with the fish. Great explanation on grouper hunt. We’re enthralled. Thanks for sharing
thanks so much!
Omg just finished watching the cooking part. For sure gonna do this recipe this winter. Thanks Aaron and the lovely Madeleine
Madeleine, you struggling with that darn coconut 🥥😂😂you crack me up!
haha she had a heck of a time!
Love your channel. Commentary and content are awesome! Love that you and Madeline go spearfishing together on your day off. Thank you for being such awesome stewards of our sea!
really love to hear it! thanks for tuning in! 🙏
I remember you saying that your UA-cam videos was to help offset some of the boat expenses in one of your videos a while back. Now look at you. Man you have come a long way since then. Great video and content! I look forward to your next one.
All a work in progress. Crazy to look back at where we started.
Your mastery with the speargun never ceases to amaze me! Another great harvest, another great video!
Thanks for tuning in!
great segment, Maddy is becoming a dinosaur killer right before our eyes.Got a great teacher, your kids and grand kids are gonna have a blast with this stuff. God Bless!
She’s better than she gives herself credit for!
Amazing life y’all have created with each other. Thanks for the videos.
Always looking forward to the next one!!!
We have no complaints! Thanks for coming along
Ya'll are a lovely bunch of coconuts! Aaron, you are a Steward and a Master of your Craft! Thank you for using all of the fish and making the "Hippie" point that you don't want the fish to suffer! I'm so thankful that I can be a part of your experiences. I can't wait for your next adventure.
Haha 🙏🏻 thanks so much for coming along. Glad you enjoy the videos!
Great video. Kind of cracked me up when you used an electric salt and pepper grinder after going through all that work to catch fish and open coconuts.
lol everyone laughs at those. I use so much pepper I got tired of working my forearm and those things are great!
I am a Fijian and watching from Nadi, Fiji.
I am a great fan of your channel and was a diver in my days. I am retired now but still an enthusiast in all types of fishing 💪💪💪👍👍👍☝️☝️☝️🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
love to hear that! thanks so much
What a great episode, congratulations to Madeline on her fish. Dinner looks delicious!
glad you enjoyed it! thanks for coming along
Yeah, that grouper was really nice!
Hell yea! glad you have that mentality, once a fish is hurt, game on! so happy you were able to get em. brings a smile to my face.
me too! thanks for tuning in!
We call them "Wings" over here in Queensland, Australia, the Barramundi have the best wings, and the meat is insane... use the coconut husks to burn one and let it smoulder for mozzies and sandflies, works great to keep them away. :)
yes! forgot about that one, I've heard that before! and I need to give that a try
Aaaahhh,... I absolutely love dealing with a stressful situation at work and the boss walks in on me watching Key West Waterman! 😜 I may be joining you bro!🤣
lmao! love it
There’s never enough Cilantro! Dinner looked delicious! Great episode as always
haha right!
'Water looks alright'... man that water looks perfect!!!
Haha!
Love your content, it’s an absolute pleasure to watch you at work. Love the recipes too, my all time favourite is fish tacos, they never get old.
Your reference to the fish throat/neck and being called different things is interesting because in Australia we’ll refer to them as ‘fish wings’.
really appreciate that, and I always find it so interesting the different names different regions come up with! I've heard that one before as well but forgot about it until now
Great to see Madeline getting involved ... she's a badass on the spear gun!!
She sure is!
Always enjoy your episodes and great to see Madeline spear as well as her epic battle with the coconut. Sincerely love that you guys don’t swear.
love to hear that, she had a great day! haha we try our best not to.
You make every fish look delicious to eat. Thanks for the coconut milk 🥛lesson. We did our on coconut shaving a few days ago for the first time ever and I use coconut milk in my coffee every morning. We now want to make our on coconut milk.
Really enjoyed the underwater adventure TOO!
We try! Haha glad you enjoy it. Madeleine loves it as well!
In Samoa we do a similar dish called Oka, which is often made with tuna, Spring onion, cucumber, bell peppers, fresh coconut cream. you can use apple or yacon too . we would salt the coconut cream before adding. but you're right, the secret is, its best made with freshly made coconut cream.
I can imagine you can get creative with it! the fresh coconut made the world of a difference!
I really couldn't pay attention with husking the coconut, it was too much fun watching Madeline wrestle with hers. Thanks a lot for the video!
haha right!
Thank you once again. Amazing what you both do.
thanks so much for tuning in!
I think your hippy side is why I like your channel so much. This looked wonderful and I so wish there was a taste-o-vision as I'm always hungry after one of your recipes. Have a lovely week you two. Keep it chill 😉😉
haha i'm gonna have to work on that! thanks so much for the positive feedback.
Aaron, amazing scenery thank you for bringing us along...
thanks for watching!
The best part of this video was Madelyn working in that coconut 🤣
You Go Paddlin’ Madelyn🎉
Lol seriously though
Big respect for Aron Young, i learn from you a lot 💙
love to hear it, thanks so much for tuning in!
Sweet video, very chilled out. Love what you did with the fish and set up! Thanks for sharing the entertainment, Dive safe, eat well! 🤠🦘👍🐟🤿🥥
Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for tuning in!
Not only do I like the content of your videos, I truly appreciate the editing. I wonder if anyone else noticed how your "underwater" voice fits so well with the underwater video. I appreciate you and wish I could do more for you
It doesnt go unnoticed. :D
At least not by me..
really appreciate that, really starting to enjoy the editing and filming side of things! you watching helps plenty!
Amazing video! I learned to open the coconut with the same monkey trick! For opening the coconut, if you look at the monkey's face and hit it on the top of the "head" of the monkey, around the center of the coconut with a thick stick or something, it is supposed to make a nice clean crack around it. It worked for me when I tried. Just make sure not to spill all of the water! Keep making awesome content!
amazing! appreciate the tip 🙏
When I heard you say kokoda my eyes lit up with pride for my island home...thank you as always for a great show..may you be blessed always...vinaka..
its a magical place! we can't wait to get back. has become one of our favorite dishes. thanks so much for watching!
Who needs cheese cloth when you got clean tshirts!! LMAO Congrats Madeline on the new PB!!!
haha right!
Another delicious video. Going to make that coconut ceviche for sure. Have cook up many grouper throats. Cheeks and throats are probably my favorite parts if the grouper. Dive was beautiful thank for taking us on the adventure!
give it a try its one of our favs! and I def agree with that, thanks so much for watching
Another amazing day on the water and in the kitchen. Thanks for sharing.
glad you enjoyed it! thanks so much for watching!
Priceless as usual...and I simply love Madeleine..."...Are you sure that's clean..???" To be topped off by "...Em Hm...I wore it doing boat maintenance yesterday..." The whipping of the hands on the pants, even if I didn't know you...LOL...is a dead giveaway of either being a Butcher or a Fisherman...when they cook...Thanks for another great one...!!!
haha its hard not to be ourselves! glad you enjoyed it, thanks so much for tuning in
I will watch every video you do.I don't Care what you are doing, it's a lot different than the things we do on the west coast. Thanks for sharing and I hope you guys stay safe and I will be waiting for the next video. Take care
really love to hear you enjoy all the content! thanks so much
awesome times bud , just so to see you and the misses out enjoying a beautiful day - selectively harvesting some amazing fish ! I have found that when it comes to guns of any kind, the majority of women are natural.... wow Madeline is really on point. my wife doesn't spearfish but she didn't need much time at the range to become accurate when I bought her her first gun ! Keep living the dream brother, always like to see what you drop on a Monday 🤙🏼🤙🏼🤙🏼
she's been a straight shooter since day one! I believe that. thanks so much for tuning in
My favourite way to open coconuts is to prop them up, pointy end up. Then drop a big rock onto the point. You may need to feel this a few times. The husk will split and pull away from the shell. Tapping the shell hard a few times before opening of will help the meat separate from the shell. If you time, leave the broken open nuts in the sun for a day of two and the meat will shrink away from the shell.
Thanks for the info!
Your lady there is transforming into quite the predator in her own right. That was a really nice grouper.
haha right!
Bro I got a good laugh out of the t shirt cheese cloth! So down home! Keep up the good videos man
haha gotta use what we got!
Thank you for the video Aaron and Madeline! I enjoyed it!
Love to hear it! 🙏🏻
That's what you call making the most on a beautiful day off!
it was a good one for sure!
I love the “expectacular” dives my man. (Greta English accent when you say that word lol). Thanks for bringing us along. Glad to c Madelyn diving!
haha haven't heard that one before! thanks for coming along, glad you enjoyed it
Sweet day with Madeline. Water sure looked good, wat a day. Thank you
anyway with her is a good one!
Dude you got my mouth watering yummies😋😎 nice Black Madeline. You keep it real Aaron another slick day after storm
Haha thanks for watching!
Madeline epic battle with the coconut was so funny my wife and I could not stop laughing 😂and she speared some great fish, she has a great teacher
lol she is too funny!
He trabajado siempre cerca del mar ppr más de 25 años, he pescado igual que ustedes, pero las preparación de tus platillos son inspiración para mí, tanto que armare un horno de leña para imitar tus comidas, felicidades
thanks for watching
So yummy!! You could probably grind that coconut again and add some of the coconut water and squeeze it out again for a 2nd batch - the separation you mentioned it definitely fat - but it’s good fat yum!! Thanks for sharing 😊
I believe it! thanks for the info!
Man I always look forward to Monday evenings. Great recipe looked amazing.
haha love to hear it! thanks for coming along
This was a great video, from the spearfishing to preparing the collar and the ceviche it is all awesome. Thanks for taking us along on your wonderful experience. I need to try that form of ceviche!
glad you enjoyed it! and its a must try so good!
Hi Eric, just see this video. I love all your videos. I planing to move to florida and retire there. About coconut opening technics, There are a lot. to remove the hard shell try put the full nut directly on the fire. You will see the shell crack. them remove it whit a strong blade knife or small machete. If you don"t put any water nothing will separate on the milk. Keep fishing. Good luck. Adrian.
its Aaron* but thanks for the tip really appreciate it!
Hey Aaron thx for sharing. Black grouper are also my favorite fish to stalk. I frequently end up being schooled by them often leave with a greater admiration for their craftiness after pursuing them.
BTW the best way I have found to husk a coconut is the hawaiian pick ax method. Only takes about 1 minute each when you get the hang of it. Also hit the coconut between the eyes with a rock or hammer to open with one hit.
Keep the awesome videos coming!
Haha they sure are crafty! And thanks for the info 🙏🏻
Can’t wait to try the Ceviche!! I had some the past week. It was Ceviche Verde. Made with jalapeño and cilantro, it was awesome. We have the same salt and pepper grinders! Sweet deal on Amazon
its a must try turned out so good, and thats too funny love those things!
Nothing like making your own coconut milk. That's how we do it in the Caribbean. Fresh and no chemicals.
Those groupers are smart. Great tactical approach.
Another great video 🤙
def can taste the difference! and they sure are, thanks for coming along
i love all your videos as they are extremely informative. thanks again !!!
love to hear that! thanks so much for watching
I’m going to need a Dibs on Bottom “No Agenda” shirt
Thanks for the videos, keep ‘em coming!
haha love it!
Just an old AT&T Lineman that really enjoys your content.
love to hear it! worked at at&t for a short time!
Bula 😊 so happy you guys managed to use real coconuts for your kokoda❤️. That was the real taste. Nothing beats real organic food , love from Fiji in the UAE🇫🇯
bula! makes such a difference, thanks so much for watching!
This was a good one. Really liked the narration underwater. Good job and thanks
Glad you enjoyed it!
Hey key west .. whenever ur taking the coconut out of the shell place the knife point underneath the coconut meat and slowly move it across but make sure your hands are not in the way of the knife .
That’s how we do it in Jamaica well that’s one way
2, u can hit the shell slowly all around and all the shell come off real easy
will have to give that a try next time! thanks for the info!
@@KeyWestWaterman yes and ur welcome..yea getting out the meat it’s kinda hard and if u don’t be careful while using the knife to remove the meat it will slip through and cut u so make sure u put a towel in ur hand to hold the coconut while removing the meat
Living off Mother Nature, now that’s living the dream!
its our dream! thanks for tuning in
Man,rhis is the first time I watched ur videos.I'm Samoan and we love coconuts. We use coconut milk in almost every dish we make.FYI the esiest way to crack a coconut is to use a machete and then hit the line that runs between the eyes.Just 1 shot and it opens up just like u did.Luv ur videos and I just sub'd.Kepp them coming.
thanks for the info! love to hear it, thanks for tuning in! 🙏
I absolutely enjoy your channel Aaron. Again a treat to learn something new everytime. Kudos on the use of the fresh coconut. I'm from a small island in Micronesia (Kosrae, FSM), surrounded by coconut trees its a pleasure to see you guys cooking with it. Bless you guys.
glad you enjoyed it! thanks so much 🙏
I bought a boat man! A little inflatable. You’re hole hunting stuff is priceless to me. I’ve had a lot of hole failures with good fish. Here in Thailand markets they make the coconut milk for you, cheap too. Will have to try that recipe. Thanks for all you vids
haha love to hear it! hope it treats you well. and its a good one you'll love it!
Great way to unwind after a long day! Thanks as always for another entertaining video.
thanks for tuning in!
That coconut milt ceviche recipe made me hungry. Looks amazing!

Wow I want some of that coconut goodness! another awesome one, Madelline - the coconut struggle is real your not alone in it! Cheers guys

Good day. Madeline is your best cheerleader and you respond in like. Loved the coconut milk and hogfish recipe with a touch of ode to Aaron. Looked so good. First snow last night. 😢 😭

Gosh I could feel her frustration 😄🙏 But hey, she got it! She got off the struggle bus. Great job you two.
haha never give up!
Another great video , well done Madeline a very nice fish ! Looks delicious , freshly squeezed coconut milk is great.
thanks for watching!
My dear friend,i use a regular kitchen knife or a big spoon,it also helps to break it into 4 pieces,to strain it is good with a metal strainer, great vid as always...
Thanks for the info!!
@@KeyWestWaterman i meant a regular dining knife like the ones that come on the dining sets,i mean that is what the old people here on the Island mostly use...
Man what a great vid! Love the drone footage, Madeline is killin it! Very cool to see her stone that big hog and PB black head shot hole shot😅 , also we enjoyed all the ian vids keep it coming 🤿🤙🐟🐠
Thanks so much for tuning in!
Another great video. Just about a perfectly flat ocean. Great shot on that hogfish. Nice to see you two together have fun.
glad you enjoyed it! thanks for tuning in!
Aloha. When I lived on Lanai, I used to go whipping ( walking the beach tossing artificials) for papio. I couple times I came across dead sea turtles washed up with a clean shark bite through both the upper and lower shell. Would always think about it when we went night diving for lobster. Awesome video once again.
that's pretty wild I believe it! only ever found one in my day.
Good one I can't believe that fish came out of that hole till you pull it out thanks for the video again allways looking forward to seeing then where I live we used fresh made to cook so once you leave the milk to rest the cream is taken out to make the coconut oil by cooking it the oil will come out
haha glad you enjoyed it! and thanks for the info! figured it was something like that
Love fishing ,love cooking! Best channel ever! ❤️
love to hear that, thanks so much for tuning in!
Can't is not a word girl u just haven't done it yet . Appreciate y'all keep up the great work
amen! thanks for tuning in!
you had my mouth watering watching you and Marilyn enjoying the fruit of your labor also using a little less coconut juice will be a much better balance fish to coconut
Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for watching!
Just found you and enjoying the videos. So awesome to see you keeping the throats. So many people just waste them and even on a 24 inch fish there is a lot of meat.
glad you enjoyed it!
Another great video! I need to find some spots and spear more when this north wind buggers off. Love the recipes!
glad you enjoyed it! thanks for coming along
What a wonderful life you all have! Glad I found the channel.
In Fiji we would salt and squeeze more lemon into the coconut milk before adding the mixture of fish and vegetables....
Looks awesome thou awesome video thank you for sharing
thanks for the info!
Not big fan of fish but you always make me wanna eat more fish! I mad respect for take what you need only not take to much!
Haha it’s so good!
Aaron my brother from another mother 😊👋!!!!, Madeleine 😊👋!!!! You totally slayed it on captaining the boat, and great shot on the Grouper YEAHHH!!!!, love you both, and another awesome episode, please tell my fav fur baby tuna hi for me and a head rub please 😊, and the rest of the fur babies too, as always stay safe, stay awesome out there y'all 👋😊👋
haha will do! thanks so much as always!
@@KeyWestWaterman thanks dude really appreciate it 👍😊
Great recipe indeed. BTW, just noticed that Madeline sure as hell can dive. Put a timer on her next time to prove that she dives better than many of us here including myself. hahaha
it was delish! and she sure can, always been hard on herself until I got a watch for her so now she can see her times. numbers don't lie hah!
Super cool video! Scenery and spearfishing was awesome! When I was a kid I used to slam the point of the coconut on hard concrete about 10 times and the husk would start to split up and you could peel the husk off. Either way it's a little bit of work to get the husk off.
I've heard of that one as well!
You've been putting out some great content lately. Lots of variety. It's always nice to see you 2 out enjoying the water together. It's kinda funny to see you fighting the coco with the machete. My friends in Costa Rica chop into them quick but they get lots of practice. I prefer the machete, the metal spike is pretty terrifying. They often have a scoop screwed to a board and they sit on the board to hold it down while they get the meat out. It's a little scary too. I have a friend who chops them open for his chickens and they all go nuts cleaning out the coconut shells. I miss living down there.
haha yea I don't do it enough to be that confident!
BULA or as we say Aloha in Fijian. Aaron you guys are awesome, thank you for sharing the life. And the KOKODA dish you guys nailed it👍👍.
Bula! thats so much love to hear that, we tried to do our best this time it came out amazing! 🙏
