wish we could use that in Washington. one of the very VERY FEW things I miss about california. Almost every thing else here sorta makes up for it though. Unless I'm wrong about this? As far as I've read we cannot use it to catch bait fish, smelt etc, etc...
@@johnbaker4847 no, sr. I was not speaking of those types of nets, and I'm pretty sure they can use the throw nets too. I have part Indian in me but not enough to register with them. I came, or got out of, California as soon as I aas old enough. With all the great things we can do gere, the sport cast net, throw net, or whatever it's called...(we use to call them tourists nets) I was able to fish with my grandfather there as a young man with big A frame nets for smelt, we would fill up the backs of trucks then sale them for 23 to 28 cents a pound. now there something like 32 to 38 cents a pound and that industry is dieing out. Surf fishing for day and night smelt use to employ hundreds of fishermen. Now in my grandpa's area theres less than a dozen commercial fishermen in the waves and when they pass The national parks have made it to where the fishermen cannot pass there licenses or livelihood to their family members. Any how I digress. But thanks for bringing that out for me, it was a great time to be alive around the coastline of the P.N.W.
