I truly believe that Mass effect 2 was their greatest game ever. It had mastercrafter story telling, plotlines, characters that you felt invested in and even the story DLC's didn't miss their mark. ME3 could have reached that same height but it had some weird story/character elements that felt off (Not to mention the RGB ending lol) and it was a greater disappointment to play Andromeda, while a visually stunning and gorgeous game it's story, plotlines and characters where atrocious. I grew up on their games and the state of Bioware is making me genuinely sad.
I agree, ME2 had this dark undertone which makes it the Empire Strikes Back of the ME franchise, combat mechanics were way better in ME3 but the atmosphere and characters make ME2 the superior game
