    Thanks Michelle always so informative, I love painting in concertina books I find it so much more freeing than a sketchbook. Look forward to seeing you paint. Blessings from Canberra

    I love making concertina books! I love this video Michelle ❤ thank you for sharing your process. I have made a couple of concertina books but none as neat as this. Funny you should post this tutorial. After I watched your paddock art book tutorial I had the the idea to create extended books with all of my experimental artwork and doodles...so now I have this idea as well. Thank you so much for the inspiration 💗

    I've been hooked on concertinas since taking Karen Stamper's course ("Free Up Your Sketchbook" I think??). I've loved watching yours...unfold 😉🤭. Looking forward to seeing you work in this one.

      Yes, I did a sketchbook course with Karen a couple of years back, too... and loved it! Have you seen Liz Ackerley's concertina sketchbooks??? she's also an abstract landscape artist worth looking at!. thank you for your comment.

      Thank you, Francine, I have had a studio challenge (space) and haven’t been able to do much filming lately because my studio has been filled with work for my Ash, Mud & Tears exhibition. The step 2 video is not yet finished. I will let you know when it publish it ☺️

    I love this Michelle. Thank you. So the completed concertina book is all four panels taped in a row?

    • @MichelleWalkerArt
      @MichelleWalkerArt  2 роки тому +1

      Yes, Jennifer, that's it! The completed concertina book is all four panels taped together, making a lovely long book to work in! And we can work on both sides of the paper.

    I am part way through making my book and enjoying it but all my masking tape is coloured! Will I be able to paint over that, or do I need an off white masking tape?

    • @MichelleWalkerArt
      @MichelleWalkerArt  Рік тому

      Great question. Without knowing exactly the type of masking tape you are using, the answer is ‘maybe’. Sounds like the perfect thing to do some testing on the tape you have. See if it will hold your paint, or if the paint peels off. Wishing you some fun explorations.

      You can also paint on just one side of the concertina book keeping the tape on the other side and so much less visible.

      @@MichelleWalkerArt Good idea! I tried that but the blue of the tape does still show through from the back and in the cracks. I have bought some white masking tape now and will make more books to get more practice.. This one can be a sample.

      Cut a strip of the paper that you used to make the pages. Fold the strip then glue the end sheets together, using the strip as the hinge. That way you can color on top of the strip of paper.

      @@TartanGirl787 I was thinking of buff / off white coloured tape when I suggested that 😊. Blue would be much more impactful.
