Переглядів 64Місяць тому
In this short video, I’ll show you what effect I got when I mixed iron water with my ink that I made from the avocado seeds. If you’re curious how to make iron water, it is water that has had rusty objects like nails and bits of rusty metal soaking in it for a couple of weeks. The underwater changes the pH of the ink and therefore changes the colour. in this case the avocado ink goes from a dee...

So beautiful. Thank you.

So beautiful. Thank you.
😀
so beautiful
@@iwillitryican thank you 🌿
Fascinating what colors and textures from various rocks came about. There were no paints thousands of years ago, just natural resources… I love this!
@@miriammoyer7271 - that’s it, Miriam… is interesting to put the manufactured paints aside for what I can find myself from the land around me.
What an awesome conversation! I’ve struggled with this for a long time with some fine artists, especially being snobs and not respecting the art of those who draw or paint outside the box. More conversation on this if possible! 🙏🏼👏🏼💕
Love this book, beautifully put together!❤
@@marlenepollock3790 thank you Marlene. That’s lovely feedback. 🌿
Nice project - and I have been able to use up those artworks that I didn't know what to do with, but didn't want to throw away! Thank you.
@@lynnstinson1273 Lynn - that’s a great way to recycle and make use of existing material!
I made a smaller one with just one sheet of paper and love it! Thank you xxx
@@bonniemiller3587 great idea! Concertina books are so versatile - you can use whatever you have!
Subscribed! Loved this!
@@TheDabshear awesome. Thank you 🤩
How did you attached the pages to the book back?
@@lindablumer18 hi Linda - I stitched the 2 ‘signatures’ of paper to the cover, then glued (PVA type) to the decorative sheets onto the inside front and back covers. Is that the question you were asking?
Thank you, needed the inspiration
Thank you Michelle, this has helped tremendously, I am making a fabric book which will be stitched and collaged throughout, stiffened then assembled. In other words an experiment. I have made many stitch journals but not one using this format. I love your art and it will influence this stitched and fabric collage book.♥
@@jennywren2395 that’s great Jenny. Your project sounds interesting
Your book is beautiful. Thank you for sharing it. Love the source of inspiration.
@@liselabelle4917 thank you. That’s wonderful to hear 🌿
No crushing and grinding here...just takingthe colour directly off the rock!!! Wow!!!
@@mexico53ify absolutely - the easy way!
So beautiful; both the art and the soothing piano. I loved it!! Being a rebel, I wd’ve added splashes of bright turquoise to each page, here and there! 🩵🩵
The project is beautiful, but with all these types of books they have no “signal.” or signage as to the time you’re referring to. If I found this book 50 years from now I’d have no idea its importance and relevance. As an artist of the 21st century-romanticism you have a “responsibility” to convey a message that identifies it as an important piece of history, which it is.
Wow thats gorgeous! Thank you for sharing 💛
@@oiqueleria thank you for your feedback 🌿🌸

this was so interesting. I have made my own brushes & had some surprising results too. I liked what you said about not judging the marks a brush will make before they are made.

I love it! Can’t wait to try one for watercolors!
Thanks Chris. Yes, I did one using mainly watercolours with some acrylic ink. It was a lot of fun. Good paper is the best starting point!

Thanks, Connie
Thank you so much for sharing your expertise! Your work is beautiful and inspiring. I haven't made a book since I was in design school 20 years ago. I'm going to use this technique for a sketchbook as I've just started making art again. Can't wait to play with colors and paper.
Personally, I feel the feather gives the most beautifully nuanced line quality. Thanks. Fun.
Yes, agree.
Very moving.
Thank you Sam 🔆
Simply exquisite - enriched my day by watching your colour palettes and structure of the book. Thank you for sharing this and putting in the work to enable us to see your creation in such a well-crafted video.
Thank you so much for your generous comment. I really appreciate it
Hard to see. Contrasting background would be helpful
This is a stunning piece of fine art. I dabble in this and that media but I always come back to making artists books. I just finished a one signature book that I made for a friend, it was based on an Edwardian aesthetic . What I love about your book is the cohesiveness of the theme you've used two major elements the color blue and the U shape and added what I would call some commentary (white gel handwritings, some rust accents, etc.) that add interest. I could talk about piece forever and I know I will be revisiting it frequently, it touched me so deeply. I have subscribed and belled your name and look forward to spending a few days looking at all your work. Best wishes. PS I didn't mention the origin of the title because this comment will end up being a book but suffice it to say BRAVA!
That is so generous. Thank you for your response to the book and taking the time to share your thoughts. You made my week!
Beautifully done, thank for sharing all 3 UA-cams with us. ⭐️I’m happy I have just found you and now I have subscribed to your Channel … thank you , your art is stunning !!!
So beautiful. I wont copy but I will try my own book. Thank you for sharing.
Thank you for that generous comment. I hope you have fun with it too!
Absolutely stunning! So inspiring!
