How the hell did you get Tippett?! What a great choice. I remember applying to work at Tippett, that studio is simply amazing, and Phil is just incredible.
Wonderful interview!!! Great job MinnMax friends! It’s so cool that you got to interview such a legend. It might just be my read, but he seemed a bit “over it” didn’t he? A little jaded. I guess I was just hoping for him to be a bit more enthusiastic sounding. Ben really had to work to get reactions out of him. Props to Ben. Even though he was a bit more nonchalant than I’d have preferred, it was awesome to hear his thoughts.
Dude this is just wonderful. Not a few posts ago i commented about why people as well connected as you guys aren't interviewing more devs and distributors. This is even better. Tippet is a master craftsman of epic proportion.
This was an amazing interview and so unexpected! I'm so happy it was shared publicly as well! I would love to see a nice mix of legends and up-and-comers interviewed as more stuff happens, it's such a treat to hear masters talk about their art and probably just as interesting to hear from the new blood.
"Hollywood doesn't know how to deal with unique things". Yep, well said! Hence why 95% of all movies released by them nowadays are either sequels, remakes, reboots, rehashes, old franchises or movies with new titles STILL USING THE SAME STORIES AND/OR FORMULA from everything else ever made! Hollywood associates "new" with the word RISK, and they absolutely hate risk... Again, excellent interview!
Nice work, Ben...Phil’s a fascinating guy, but a challenging interview (based on others I’ve seen recently). I wonder if Phil has ever thought about working with Terrence Malick. If he’s looking to make tone poems and actually get them funded/marketed, Malick seems like his perfect match. They’re both way out there on the ragged edge. Or Kojima! Kojima needs a movie to direct...get these two together.
Random idea for a celebrity to look into interviewing: Ben Schwartz? Feel like that would just be a weird yet funny interview with a lot of possible topics lol. Ben v Ben 😅
Interesting interview. My ex girlfriend's dad won 2 Oscars working for Jim Henson and had a similarly nihilistic opinion of the industry. Makes me quite sad, honestly.
Gotta love practical effects, but have to disagree with that comment. Peter Jackson is a genius, WETA did an amazing job, and where possible, there was practical and CGI effects used where practical couldn't. Unfortunately, and especially nearly 2 decades on, CGI doesn't age well.
correction: sub par CGI doesn't age well. The CGI in Jurassic Park and Starship Troopers have aged a lot better than others. It has better lighting, more realistic movement, better texture etc. You just need people that know how things look and move in real life and apply it to the CGI.
I really dislike the trend you see now today where the first section of the video is all about asking people for money. We haven’t even seen your content yet, people who just stumbled onto your channel, and you’re already asking me for money. I wish content creators would just ask at the end, if you like this content etc. etc.
It seriously just looks like you're interviewing an unemployed Santa Claus who has a drinking problem... Kinda depressing, lol. SERIOUSLY. Great interview though!

we should start a petition to have Steven Spielberg interviewed by Ben
That seems like a good idea.
Ben is an absolute master at interviewing. How the hell do you do this man? Iam continuously impressed ever since your 2016 FFXV cover story.
dude THE TIP, what a cool choice for a first interview.

I wonder whos wang they had to suck to get an interview with him. Why is phil tippet on a Z list UA-cam channel?
I'm so excited for Ben Hanson. This must be a dream come true. Good job dude
I'm only three minutes in, but it looks like Phil "could get used to this" interview! Awesome work Ben!
Wonderful interview!!!

Dope interview, enjoyed the part about the rotation of the walker legs being able to lift dictating the design. Super interesting.
Ben, what a great start to the interview shows. It really scratched my JP itch.
This is one of my favorite interviews! Thank you Ben! Also, how long has that CD been in your fireplace and what is it?
Oh, thanks! Ha, it's been in there ever since we finished playing Dirge of Cerberus on PS2...
@@minnmax That's great! LOL!

“No, no , not really” 😂
I see that Phil Tippet is ready for back of box trivia! He could get used to this.
Great pick for an interview!
This is amazing!

I'm surprised you didn't ask his favorite film or maybe even favorite of last year
