Love mine. I thought it was going to be a complete gimmick/ was overhyped. My ankles and hips have never felt better since switching into them. I also think that this skate helps goalies who are better skaters, and will hinder/slow down goalies who aren't as good on their edges.
I really noticed how easy, stable and consistent my edgework was
I love mine but the biggest problem is the buckles. They break extremely easily. But at least Bauer gives you free replacements if you contact them.
I fit in intermdiate goalie skates so I had to wait for Bauer to release the HF2 (Senior/intermediate Non pro) version of these. I have had them baked twice and used them for almost 10-15 skates now, I can not get a consistent game where I feel comfortable in these, my feet are killing me. Ive tried the stock insoles, superfeet, and Currex (flat feet insoles) as I have flat feet. Whats odd too is I wear the same style socks an some games my feet feel either too loose or too tight and I strap them the same almost every time. 90 percent of my games by the 2nd period I have to basically rest on my knees until the puck comes to center ice then I get up because my feet are hunting so bad. My only option now is to try the Custom True 2 piece skate and perhaps modify the Bauer Vertex holder to it instead of the True Holder.
This has been my experience with the bauer konekts. I'm stubbornly using them as they cost so much, and they have improved my edge work.
took me only 4-5 skates to get used to them. Amazing skates. I know some people have added foam just under the ankle buckle to get it a bit more tight.
I was curious if you could do a stick review on a custom stick with a whippy flex. I held Mike Smiths stick and it felt like it had a 70 flex on it. It was rubber which helps with firing the puck down the ice. Unfortunately flex doesn't seem to be advertised with goalie sticks too much and they're usually pretty stiff. CCM has the soft flex which is alright but its still not the rubbery flex im looking for.
Hopefully some spots open up and you can get a contract somewhere. Your bottle throws at refs/60 was 1st in all professional leagues last year.
I like to wear my konekts pretty loose. For flex i think it mostly depends on construction of different models and i’ve never ordered a custom flex or anything like that, interesting topic though
i love the Konekts, you hit all the points. they're an awesome skate. I was first skeptical too but i actually love mine.
Kaz, Do you have them profiled? If so what have you done?
With your Trues, did you feel like not using the top eyelet of the skates was a big advantage? Or just personal comfort preference?
Just personal, gave me more mobility on the ankle. I think most of the guys leave the top eyelet open
What did you use to trim the plastic upper ankle tab?
My team’s equipment manager had these big ‘scissors’ he used to chop it off

Do direct shots off the toe feel like you broke something or are these pretty protective? Especially vs True?

Thanks for the review Kas! Quick question: I have disasterFeet (wide and high arch), any chance you have either issue and if so did you have anything done during baking that helped?
I think the inner liner molds to your feet as needed, they also come with little pieces for arch or ankle if needed extra space during molding

Never used a 580, it’s all personal preference and what’s natural for you. I can see why it’s so popular with the big pocket

I’m still in original VH 1 piece. Been 6 years strong. Only had to replace step steel once. Maybe 350 skates on them
