Oregon is where we spend every summer. Loved your story about seeing the Pacific for the first time. My first time was Astoria area. There's nothing like the Oregon coast!! Thanks for sharing.
Invest in a handheld CB radio. We never go on logging roads without one. Meeting another car is nothing. Log truck, somebody's backing down the hill, and it ain't the log truck. Trust me on this one. Look for CH. # and tune to it. Its common courtesy to announce your approach so anyone listening knows whose coming up or down a given road.
We’ve definitely considered this! Though, common courtesy is also not coming down a single lane road at 40 mph 😅 they were cruising, and we pulled over for them.
@@ScaleofTwo Yeah, I haven't found the CB thing too usefull Most actively logged areas are readily identifiable. Side by sides and ever more competent OEM vehicles along with the Overlanding boom have made it much more problematic. My buddies and I now run with lights on all the time. Amber lights area particularly good at catching the eye through our forests.
When you slow the video down on Thors Well..there is a face in the spray on the right. Just as that noise like a groan happens. I see this in my art and it's not scary to me. I see eternity in it.
Fun to see your Prius origins! Really love the sentiment that "It doesn't matter what you drive". It doesn't. The Oregon Coast is indeed amazing really the best of the whole West Coast. We've lived in WA for almost 20 years now & still come down to the Oregon Coast annually. 2 out of 3 seems generous for a clearcut
@@ScaleofTwo Thank you so Much I Drive the Mountains all the time and used to clean clear cut mayhem. Damaged done. Yes, you got firewood and A view Brightside up where everything can be seen in the night sky I pray all your trips are safe, and wonderful. Travels to you be safe out there and please keep sha ing..
Nice! I've camped at the lower spot a little closer to the water that you can see from the one you were at. If you bushwack down that ridge there are lots of beautiful old growth trees in that area.
Wow. I don’t suppose you could share that location? Coming to Oregon soon, hopefully to buy land later, but for now exploring and camping. Thanks for an awesome video!
Enjoying your videos. This June will be our first visit to Oregon. Getting very excited. We have 3 days to do some car camping - preferably dispersed - along the mid-northern coast. Any recommendations on where we should try to stay? We’re not totally opposed to campgrounds if they are beautiful and not densely campgroundy, but we won’t need any hookups or showers or anything. Would prefer locations more like this video. We can sleep in our Outback build, but we might rent a teardrop from Outdoorsy just for that experience. Any suggestions?
That looked like an amazing spot, killer ariel shot with the drone. I'd like to find a spot similar to that for when I'm out in my Jeep. I converted it to a camper, love it!! Great video guys
@@ScaleofTwo I will be in Nor Cal/SF for a week and then Oregon for a week. I want to stealth camp or overland as much as possible. Southern Oregon and it's looking like Coos Bay, Forest and Rogue River. Any suggestions?
Haven’t done a whole lot in southern Oregon, especially on the coast. If you’re looking for some cool redwoods jedediah smith state park in crescent city is a must though!
@@oceantotable I see it's a year old now but Northern Northern CA & Southern OR are literally filled with abundant excellent campsites. The Siskiyous literally have some of the best campsites I've experienced in the US
This looks like a great camping spot. Me and my fiance are taking a 6 day road trip along the Oregon coast soon and we've never been tent camping. Been in a cabin without electricity available, but different then in a tent. Any tips on what extra items to bring or how to find good camping spots along the Oregon coast?
Hi! We're actually making a video that'll come out tomorrow about finding campsites. I would say make sure you have plenty of water, first aid kit, extra food, downloaded maps (forest roads n such). Of course make sure you have a decent tent and a backup plan if you can't find any dispersed sites, the Oregon coast is sometimes difficult to find dispersed camping.
Hey Rich, this is near Thor's Well in the national forest! Not a terribly exciting spot for 4x4 camping, but definitely a beautiful spot. If you take a look at the MVUM maps on Gaia or take a look at iOverlander this one is pretty easy to find
We’ve considered adding the lift kit and some ATs, but I think we’re deciding to save that money towards our next vehicle. So we won’t have this problem soon enough 😄

It really is a special place. Cheers, Becky!

Goood timing on the “I met Kim, and here we are part” 🙂 and good, fun video
Thanks Chris!
Nicely done!

It's called a P-38 because it takes 38 "punctures" to open a standard K ration can. Prior to MRE's.
Camping next to a clear cut not so nice the rest was very beautiful
No doubt, don’t love the clear cuts. But it provided a nice view of the ocean!

Oregon is amazing! Love the coast and that cool ocean breeze! Great vid. Will be following!

Nice marine geyser in your introductory sequence.

Oh we didn’t even think to hike down to the creek, we’ll have to do that next time we’re out that way!
Are you referring to North Cape Ck?

This spot is something we found on iOverlander, I would check there! There is a possibility that this one is no longer open
Never seen one wow good way to split wood!

Very fun trip guys ! I like the Kim Scale for rating camp sites. Cool video. I liked the vibe of the music choices as well.
She says it’s “more flexible” but I guess we’ll see about that. Thanks for watching! 🤙🏼
I tried salmon bulgogi from previous vid. Came out great , thanks!

Thanks! It’s actually on ioverlander.com, near Thor’s well. There’s a few others to check out as well 🤙🏼
