    Hello Tony,really appreciate your work and the fact that you publish all this information.
    I would like to ask,how can we "connect" the two shells in order to make the hangdrum?
    I guess welding is not an apropriate method or not?

    thank you very much for sharing your videos! I decided to begin my journey of creating steel instruments last year, starting with steel tongue drums and building a name (though very small) here in California. And now I am gathering materials to begin the next chapter in this righteous endeavor as I truly believe these instruments poses unique power to move peoples hearts and minds.
    In any case, I wanted to ask you what brand your rammer is and if you have it modified. What your ideal head size for shaping and smoothing?
    Blessings!

    Good work. Now take one of your pan halves and make a convex and a concave mold in wet concrete. Let the concrete dry an d cure completely. Then lay a piece of sheet metal over the concave mold and put the convex mold on top of it and drive your car over it. Or something like that. Or build a hydrolic press frame and use a hydrolic jack instead of a car. Be careful. It could be dangerous.

      When you say blank shells, do you mean they just haven't been labeled? also I was curious as to how long it takes to tune handpans. I watched your video on tuning and bought the Tune!it app but I have a feeling that tuning is going to be a bitch...lol Just curious on how long it takes you to tune a individual note/all of them. I heard handpans take about 40 hours to make, would you say that's accurate? you're using an air hammer so I'm assuming its going to take way less time, but I'm all new to this.

      В каждой ноте есть три ноты, значит что в центре ноты димпл имеет одну ноту например A по вертикальной оси на октаву выше A2, по горизонтальной А3? Но кроме этого каждая из них имеет еще два обертона? Но ведь когда будешь настраивать ноту например по горизонтали, по вертикали будет уходить...Тони Accord Chromatic Tuner он же обертона не видит на слух определять?

    • @АртёмБоярских-о4ж
      @АртёмБоярских-о4ж 7 років тому

      Тони, с днем победы! А как ты определил что по горизонтали Е2, по circle of fifth? Выходит что можно обычным тюнером без обертонов определять, но ударяя по центру он не будет показывать ноты по вертикали и горизонтали? А linotune показывает их правильно я понимаю?

      @w.jpearson14 6 років тому

      Good job tony nameless. Fallacies are common errors in reasoning that undermine the logic of your argument. Your fallacies are illegitimate arguments and lack the evidence that you claim. Your argument falls apart because "god" has taken many shapes with various supernatural powers. There are thousands of mythical gods: Greek, Egyptian, Roman, Mayan, Indian, Asian, African, and oh the American gods. You choose your god and your religion. If one person is delusional we say they have a mental illness. If a delusional group worships a supernatural being, we call that religion.

      No. No, you are in the majority. That's all I'm saying. I wouldn't have butt in but that's wrong. About 1/3rd of the global population is Christian. It's the largest religion in the world.

    • @yo-Rowe
      @yo-Rowe 7 років тому

      Paul TheSkeptic of course Christianity is the largest religion but murdering millions of people and stealing land on every continent is nothing to be proud of

    • @PaulTheSkeptic

    • @yo-Rowe
      @yo-Rowe 7 років тому +1

      You are right Paul - sorry, it wasn't meant as an accusation, but it came off that way. Of course you don't own Christian pride. I was simply trying to address Christian pride in their numbers by adding HOW their religion became the largest in the world. It was genocide. A process of elimination.

  • @w.jpearson14
    @w.jpearson14 6 років тому

    Man created god in his own image. Visit a burn ward or children's cancer hospital and see how your god is doing. With thousands of gods their believers can't all be right, but they can and are all wrong. I refuse to waste this one and only life worshipping a god that sends people to an eternity of torture for simply not believing.
    Anyway good work.

      Warren Pearson what your describing is not spirituality(there is 100% no doubt that there are realms beyond physical).It’s the way we’ve followed these religions that have turned into something that basically mind control. Get past religion, it’s all been tainted by bad people/monarchs/kings etc.(there are still gems inside religious books but still the dark age books are pretty dear based) the only thing you need to spiritualize is meditation, then research into things that pop up into your head, something of substance not stupid shit like sports or mainstream media. If you research properly, and intuitively guide yourself by your heart what information resonates and feels right with you. Never attach yourself to a belief or theory or anything for that matter, don’t put labels or set lines between belief systems. It is better to be forever changing and observing and not get too attached to things wether material or spiritual.

    What gauge metal are you using?

    Steel woks are on sale at my local Asian market. I picked up a 22 inch one for $22. I'm intending to see if I can bang it into a working handpan--a handpan with handles! If it doesn't work, I can just use it to make chow fun.

      Hey! Good idea. Did you ever do it? Did it work?

      Not yet. I think the steel is too thick and maybe tempered in a way that's not conducive, but I still think you could probably bang some different notes into it and create some kind of percussion instrument. I just want to come close to what the experience of having a handpan in your lap might feel like and fantasize dishing out the big bucks for one one day.
