Yeah that literally sums up my whole experience with handpan making I got about that far can't make them sound good It's a special person that can do this kind of work Yeah be really free loving and open and at the same time really Uptight and very technical it's a gift

Hey Bro)) The reason why some notes don't sound well is different load distribution on the pan-surface. That's why some frequencies fall out. Unfortunately, any complex form will give a similar effect (( But thanks for the gorgeous story of a broken heart ;)

I've experienced this myself. I'm not very much good yet but I'm trying to shape and tune. I can hear harmonics so much better once a pan is glued...and wasted much time looking for proper timbre only to realize I could not find it on the tuning rings... Anyway thanks for replying, you were my original inspiration with your "golden mutant" that sent me on a long journey to try to make the handpan which is the Most magical instrument I've heard yet of any.
I understand that you were not happy with the result, but I should have liked it in my collection of musical instruments. No one has one, it should have been given the place of honor because of its uniqueness, and all the work you put into it. Poor hand pan.
