    Hey bro! Super cool video! Can't wait to see more! What about making a review on cloud gaming services? I think you could make a helpful video. Do you hear something about the Boosteroid? They have Scron and a lot more games in the library. What do you think?

    People struggling with the puzzles need to play myst. No hand holding, no looking shit up, walk around and mess with stuff to figure it out. My parents played it growing up and so did I and it definitely got me used to advanced problem solving. I will say the combat is almost completely avoidable due to the animalistic nature of the enemies. In the end both factors make the game immersive and rewarding.

      Totally agree lol. I think people are far too used to being babied by modern AAA games so the slightest bit of resistance is too much to handle lmao

    In all honesty, the first puzzle was by far the hardest. Fantastic game otherwise. I bought into the game for the visuals and environments. The visuals and sound design is mind blowing!

      Sorry I missed this, but I agree! The first one definitely took me the longest but I think that fits the tone of being thrown into the world with no guidance, so I liked figuring it out quite a bit. Thanks for watching!

    Is an atmospheric experience. Just like Pathologic 1 and 2, and The Void, this type of games are strange, obtuse, unearthly and uncommon. Just like Giger and Beksiński art style. People expectation this days are too high and without knoledge. The base of this creation is the art of the two geniuses, the feelings they have transmuted into paintings. Also people expect the trajectory the Alien universe went, beginning with Aliens 2 and finishing with stupid AvP. The original wasn't about shooting everything Hollywood style. It was more filosofical, like we see in Promeheus and Alien Covenant. And those two movies weren't received well, just like Scorn.

      Yea the Pathologic series definitely came to mind in terms of other games that were made purposely strange, harrowing and non-handholding for the player. Though I think those games are SIGNIFICANTLY harder to digest for the average player than scorn is lol. Thanks for watching!

      @@chrisrivera7530 they are harder. And hard doesn't mean always good. But except Alien Isolation, Scorn is the only thing we have in this universe. And, as a game, AI is way better than Scorn. The only thing that got close to A I , for me, in terms of anxiety it produces, is Subnautica, but after finishing it once, the horror disappeared. This type of games are so rare. Outer Wilds also, but without horror. Nice video 🍻

    I played 4h of scorn and it was just tiresomes. Too much down time for me, i was just walking around tickling with mini-game which helped with the big puzzle. The map was while amazingly designed, the area itself had nearly nothing to interact except key items for gameplay purpose, it made me stop loooking around the corner after a while.
    I think it would be better if they did puzzle like amnesia where they have small and managable puzzles which add up into a big one. That will help the players with the sense of progression.

    It definitely looks interesting, Kind of a shame it’s Microsoft exclusive. although, I can’t imagine myself being any good at it, due to my history to “obtusity” but that’s more to do with exploration (with bloodborne) than puzzles
    Either way. I look forward to future videos

    • @chrisrivera7530

      Lol yeah the obtuse aspect people talk about with this is much more in regards to the puzzles themselves (to which I obviously disagree with lol) as opposed to the exploration. Definitely no obtuse roadblocks like the dumbass password door in Bloodborne lmaoo. But thanks! Hope to get a handful more out before the year is done!

    With the partially mixed reviews Scorn has gotten I'm glad it was offered on Game Pass with I myself having Game Pass. Scorn is my latest game that I have on Game Pass where I unlocked all of the game's achievements making Scorn my 1000 out of 1000 Gamerscore game #7. Nice review Chris!

      Thanks! And yeah I am definitely a fan of gamepass. It certainly incentivizes some people to try games they normally wouldnt. Also just a great deal in general but especially this month with Scorn and A Plague Tale Requiem releasing in back to back weeks lol

    Had I known it was a tedious puzzle game I wouldn't have downloaded it. I thought it was a body-horror game of some sort. I'm a software engineer, tedious puzzles already make up my existence, I don't need them in my entertainment. Fucked up Git repositories fill the self-flagellation role nicely enough

    • @chrisrivera7530
      @chrisrivera7530  Рік тому +1

      I mean, it is objectively a game about body horror lol, but "body horror" isnt really a genre as far as game design goes. Im curious as to what exactly you were expecting from it, cuz to me, the demos definitely made it seem like the emphasis was gonna be on exploration and puzzles.

    • @batteredskullsummit9854
      @batteredskullsummit9854 Рік тому

      @@chrisrivera7530 I didn't play the demos. I said exactly what I expected in my comment. body-horror is a subgenre of horror which is itself a genre of videogame, so that's an adequate descriptor of a game genre. Could you have the courtesy of being more openly hostile instead of being passive-aggressively condescending?

      @chrisrivera7530  Рік тому +1

      @@batteredskullsummit9854 I didnt either lol. But I watched a few minutes of them online, and I was also just kinda referring to all the marketing for the game in general. They showed off the combat a little in trailers, but to me it always seemed like that would not be the focus at all.

    • @chrisrivera7530
      @chrisrivera7530  Рік тому +1

      @@batteredskullsummit9854 Objectively speaking this game is body horror tho. So you saying that "I expected body-horror of some sort" doesnt make much sense to me because the game IS about body horror. The game having puzzles doesnt mean it also isnt about body horror. My point from the other comment was that Body horror is a theme/element, but it does not accurately tell us anything about how the game will play. Ive played a "body horror" game titled "Discover my body" and it was a point and click game about examining a body undergoing a new form of evolution. Ive also played a "body horror" game titled "Perfect Vermin" that was a melee FPS. The RE series has body horror elements and those are third person shooters. "Observer" Has body horror stuff and thats a first person stealth/detective/walking sim game. "Scorn" is also big on body horror, and its an exploration and puzzle focused FPS with a few combat elements. My point being that "Body horror" is not a great descriptor of how a game will actually play. So Im sorry if that came off as condescending, but I genuinely do not know what you were expecting based on your description.

    Now would you say the puzzles are more or less difficult than the puzzles in TWELVE MINUTES, hmm?

    • @chrisrivera7530
      @chrisrivera7530  Рік тому +1

      You see its not simply a matter of difficulty. Its a matter of whether or not the puzzles were designed for actual human beings to figure out using real world logic. And there was never a moment in Scorn where I got killed for not having a Polaroid, while also holding said Polaroid in my hand.
