they had a massive cult following but never gained mainstream popularity which is why they are amazing they have true followers not fake fans

That was the whole idea of the band. There was nothing like touring the band all over the country. They were the best.

The Dead were among the most unusual bands in history. With most bands the best work is in the studio albums, with the live shows often just to promote albums or draw attention. With them it was the opposite. The best examples of their work was always in the live shows. Their show on May the 8th, 1977 at Cornell is a better reflection of the band than any of their albums. The concerts of the Dead and even some of their tribute or cover bands have a deep atmosphere and feel about them that you don't get anywhere else. You see Dead emblems in random spots everywhere and hardly anyone knows what they are, it's like a friendly trippy cult. The Dead seemed to just play for the fun of it. They played because they wanted to, not because it would make them a lot of money. In the words of Bill Graham, "They're not the best at what they do, they're the only ones that do what they do."

jerry would find it so awesome that people still care about him to this day. It would just blow his mind if only he knew how much we still love him, we will never let him out of our lives! ☮️⚡️

Live Dead really is their best recording (in my estimation)...some of the Dick's Picks are great too. And "Two From the Vault" is terrific....so is "The Closing of Winterland" - this is probably my favourite these days.

I really think those what the grateful Dead represented it's so bigger more passionate then what the woman doing the voice over of their history could even fathom her wording was quick and way too far short of having the intelligence to even have the legal opportunity of representing what the grateful Dead will always stand for.
My stomach is sick listening to her she hid all the truthful points with no self-regard of the background of each in individual life of mental passion self well-being of being in a lifestyle of so much with so many hundreds of thousands of followers it wouldn't even be comprehendible to make a voiceover from somebody that had no regards to anything of what it was all about
