I can really recommend watching the behind the scenes for this, it shows more of Eugene's creative process but also the stress he went through while making this. Not only was this how he came out to his family and the greater public but he had to direct, choreograph and perform this within a few days of filming while he also had to prepare for the tour of the TryGuys
I look up to him so much because he has this wonderful artistic vision and pure talent for dance and storytelling. Plus he's kind of my fashion inspiration, his style that plays with gender is both impeccable and fun

@@shyeahright sorry, I should have been more clear, as far as I know he did tell his mom before but it wasn't something discussed ever since, so him being so loud and proud about it was still was a big deal

I cried again! I know most people think that I'm a tall 6'5" tatooed hetero man with a beard. Everything is correct, exept,,,,I'm bi. Not a big burley, but a big bear who cries when he sees proper ballet. Who loves the colour pink (and nailpolish!). And writes poerty. And loves/likes Johnny Depp.

I've watched Eugene's UA-cam journey for quite a few years and he's a high fave for me. I'm a 50 year old woman who was raised like Eugene, and while I'm straight, I still had to 'come out' to my family as a full atheist, after years of being raised and living in a cult and it cost me everything. It was worth it. This video has be absolutely sobbing. I don't sob. I don't even shed a tear now and then. This video has undone me.
Gonna go find the video on the internet and watch it again. Wow. Just... I feel so wrung out in the most incredible way. What a gift to share, what an inspiration.
This one slapt me so hard in the face, and it made me crying so much. Especially the club scene and especially in light of what happened in my hometown last week.
Friday night there was a sh**ting outside a pub and a night club in the gaybar street of Oslo.
Two people died, 21 got hurt. The Pride parade the next day got cancelled for security reasons. Many people in the LGBTQ+ community in Norway are now scared.
I would just like to say to the community that we are so many people who support you, where ever you are in the world. We will be there, and we will fight with you. I myself am not a part of the LGBTQ+ community, but I will continue to stand by you all

I'm a part of a wonderful dance family these days learning ballet and Jazz. I attended my first ever ballet class in 2015 as authentic me. I've since passed Cecchetti Gr 3, RAD Gr 4 and have my Southern Federation of Dance Classical (Ballet) Syllabus Gr 5 exam this year in September. I perform in our schools recital concerts too, one this Sunday! It really is a childhood dream come true even if it took till I was 50 to first set foot in a ballet class 🩰💃💓

He'd never done ballet before but he's been a dancer his whole life. Also the first time you started tearing up I was like oh girl just wait!😅 It's like the 20th time I've watched this and I still cry my face off. Definitely watch the "making of" video. He's so impressive. 💜
It was very tough for me to come out as transgender due to my family being Christian. Thankfully I had the support from my friends the whole way through. I was also worried that I wouldn't be accepted in the ballet world for being a transgender dancer but my studio accepts me with open arms. Jo when you started crying I literally started crying too ♥️💜♥️💜.
As a Christian, and a dancer for 16 years, I sincerely apologize for any hate you may have (or currently do) receive from either group or anyone else that hates you for who you are. I am so grateful that your studio is accepting of you. I hope that if your family is not accepting that they come around soon. I hope that if they aren't, or even if they are, that you recognize the family you have on the internet (I know it's not the same, but you are still cared for). I don't know you, and I will probably never meet you, but I love you. You are a testament to yourself, and only you can tell your story. Thank you for being willing to tell it ❤️

the whole video is an absolute masterpiece, and gets the tears flowing every time... BUT, the yellow scene completely destroys me every time. I think it's because it shows him finally being accepted by someone, and him being allowed to be HIMSELF. WAAAA so so good
I watched it when it first aired and blubbered like a baby. It still did it to me today. He is amazingly talented and another suggested you watch the making of the video and I totally agree as you get to see it all.

I absolutely bawl every time I see that video. It was an incredible video, and the behind the scenes gives incredible insight to it. He really nails the execution and delivery with this video. It means the world to me to see your channel donating to the Trevor Project. The world has come a long way even just since I was in school, and we've fought long and hard to get to where we are, but we still need support from all the allies we can get. Thank you.

I saw this when it was first released and have watched it many times since. It’s just as powerful now as the first time I saw it.
After all the years this has been out, it still gives me chills. I’ve watched it so many times, I love it.
On my first watching of Eugene’s film, I really didn’t know to expect such overwhelming greatness from him. It’s such a generous film too, if you know what I mean? I mean he’s made it on behalf of entire communities of people who need it.
I’ll be showing this to my young child in years to come for sure. It is a moving, overwhelming piece of film, and now I know that that’s Eugene to a T.

Two months ago a animated Netflix movie came out: Nimona. The main character’s name is Ballister, and his love interest is Ambrosius. Yes, they’re a gay couple. Eugene is the voice actor for Ambrosius. He went from making UA-cam videos to voice-acting on a incredibly successful Netflix film. I’m so proud of him, and curious as to what he’ll do next ❤️
Nimona is a great movie, and the lgbtqia+ representation is amazing. The movie is so heartbreaking yet so funny as well, it’s awesome. I love Nimona

Yeah. I had to watch it twice because I *bawled* through the first watching. I was *amazed* by both the dance and the color story he told in the video. I mean, really everything about it was phenomenal.
I"ve watched this video so many times and its so beautiful and painful and i just love it. Edit: I was super curious to see how Josephine reacted because she's Asian as well and would get it on a much deeper level than I would. (The older sister Korean concern was so sweet) You aren't alone in your crying. I cry every single time. It is so wonderful and visually stunning but at times it hurts so much and it tells such a story. If you look at the background of this as some folks suggested, it explains the colour themes of each section and the progression.
I have always loved Eugene but love him even more now! The mommy in me wants to protect him and tell him how loved he is. My big, scary looking Korean husband would be an amazing supportive and protective big brother/father figure. We live in Austin so not all Texans are horrible judgmental people!

I remember when he announced that he’s making that video I was so excited especially I was slowly finding myself and finding out who I am. His visuals, the storytelling and the music just showed us an amazing representation of what it’s like struggling to be who we are. Anyway Happy Pride Month!

I half watch this show because I think the professional insight into ballet footwear is incredible. The other half thinks Josephine is an amazing person for being positive, inclusive, and solidly grounded in best practices.
OMG!!!! Wow! Just blown away for so many different reasons. I knew he had made a coming out video but I didn’t know that was how he told his family too. When he was dressed in drag and going to the club I just thought “get it Eugene!” Cause he and the other propels were having so much fun then. But when I saw the “shooter” walking up and I knew immediately where it was going and was just hit with so much emotion. This was amazing and so impactful. Such a talented, beautiful man 🥰

Amazing! More people need to see this and understand what so many gay, trans, etc. people go through before finally letting go and accepting themselves! I would love my child no matter what. But too many don't and won't accept their child for who he or she is. It's THEIR life. Let them live it. So glad I got to watch this.
