I'd like to say based on all reviews I've seen you truly have captured the size play features and the reality of what this set contains. I own all original Indiana Jones sets and yours was first to really show me size and function related to the original that's pushing me to make it a must to add to my collection. That's for the hard work solid brix
The original set from 2008 was the first set I remember having. Probably had others before, but that was the first I remember. I will definitely be buying this set simply for the nostalgia
I speculate that the designers would've liked to have added the dart coming our from the wall but because of how the controls are on the front of the set (where the person is) the spring loaded shooters, or whatever lego chose, would be shot towards the person. lego probably didn't want a child to use the future and get shot in the eye with it. I know this can be said for any other set with spring loaded shooters but they are always designed to face away unlike in this case.
I had the older version of this set, always loved it as a kid. It had amazing playability and for the parts I always loved the detail. But this is on another level!
Thanks for the review, I love seeing these side by side. I do love the new Temple set more especially because of that updated color scheme (I know not fair since back then the old set could not have taken advantage of those colors), but I do wish it also came with the seaplane. But at the $150 price point and for being licensed I think you get plenty bang for your buck with this set, especially with so much play features! I mean all my favorite sets from my childhood had lots of boobytraps ha.
Unacceptable that on a $150 diorama set the quote plate pieces use stickers and aren't printed... Especially when every Star Wars diorama is under $100 and include printed quote plates... Inconsistent and frustrating. Probably will pick up on sale, but definitely not paying full price.
Interesting fact: this is currently the only newer LEGO *_Indiana Jones_* set that has the Disney logo on the box. Yet the original four films' rights are held by Paramount.
Paramount has the distribution rights. But something we rarely talk about because of the shadow Star Wars casts is that with purchasing Lucasfilm, Disney also got Indiana Jones.
idk i just prefer the 2008 version of the boulder, there's just smthng about it and it's simple mechanism that i just like more for some reason. the new one is still very impressive tho
I think the Lego Indiana Jones raiders of the lost ark look so awesome, magnificent and perfect I can't wait to buy ever since I've watched all the Indiana Jones movie. And I've always wanted a diorama of Lego Indiana Jones based on the set.
This set is amazing, and definitely a day one buy for me along side the UP house and the other Indiana Jones sets! This year has already been a banger with The Lord of the Rings and Indiana Jones themes returning, but if a miracle were to happen and SpongeBob or Simpsons were to return as a theme then this to me would be LEGO’s best year yet.
I actually really like the big Kingdom of the Crystal Skull temple set, I think the way it’s designed to replicate the movement of the stairs makes it stand out.
@@Badbhoys Another good one! I love the big bald Nazi mini-fig fighting Indy! Glad to see Im not the only person that collected Indy sets back in the day!
Yeah. I don’t really know what David’s been up to recently by justifying the prices. I mean: I agree, Rivendell (100$ overpriced) and this set now (30-50$ overpriced) are absolutely beautiful, but does that really justify the price…?
I'd rather have Lego make the three challenges from The Last Crusade; The Pendulum, The Cobbles and The Invisible Bridge followed by the Knight of the Holy Grail with the Chalice that features Donovan, Elsa and the Knight.
Think this set looks remarkable, I think it was the right decision for LEGO to make at least one of the classic Indiana Jones sets 18+ as the vast majority of classic Indiana Jones fans are 18+ in 2023. If the theme doesn’t continue in full force with a whole line of play sets, a once a year 18+ Diorama set which beautifully captures the magic of these classic films like this one does once a year would definitely be in order.
I had to get all three of the Indiana jones sets on release day, I haven't opened any of them yet as I'm running out of space in my display room. Once I sort something out I'm sure they will look fantastic together and I hope they make further Indiana jones sets. Great review.
I have the original version of this from years ago. Why does it seem smaller than the old one? I think Im one of the only people I know that collected all of the Crystal Skull Lego sets? Bad film but made for interesting sets.
It's too fucking small the one from 08 was way better in terms of size. The detail of the 2023 one is nice, but aside from that it has nothing else going for it..
This looks like a nice set. It made me think that it would be great for Lego to embrace some of the other franchises, such as Star Trek and Dr Who. They seem to have bought into Star Wars big time, but there was a great show in the 70s called Space 1999, which would be great in Lego! Great video, really enjoyed it. 😀

I wish Lego would make at least one set for Indy and Lord of the Rings around the $20 price point. It’s kind of cruel to just make larger sets when a lot of people just want an Indy minifig.
$150 for 1500 pieces is a hefty price can't lie. Especially when so many pieces are small 1×1 pieces. I don't think that's justified. Moreover, the fact that u can openly see blue technic pins from the front is just poor design
