Imo, P1 was peak and one of my biggest problems with the rune system was the number of of slots and runes. I think the good rune slots were the ones where there was a meaningful choice between output and utility, and the slots were there was variety for different forms of content.
I played SoD from the start and lasted until phase 4 as a Guild Leader. I leveled and raided with each class in each of the 4 phases I played and couldn't get enough! The killer for SoD was the long phase length and classic cata release. *Ultimately this led to my server shutting down and the end of my guild (some of us transferred to a new server but it wasn't the same)* I'm super cranky at blizz for this as it was some of the most fun I've ever had.
Disagree with this on so many levels haha my entire guild quit because the devs were trying too hard to please the Vanilla crowd. We left on phase 3. The GDKP ban was tone deaf removed any reason to make alts, the return to 40 man raiding instead of keeping it at 10, refusal to update threat generation to cater for the new power other classes were given in dungeon scenarios to keep the "vanilla feel" (as if any mage with access to living flame was going to pull 3 enemies at a time), balance decisions and game changes seemingly being decided by whatever reddit thread got updoots. If they wanted to keep the Vanilla crowd happy they should have just released fresh WoW classic servers then, if they wanted to try something new and bring new audiences in they shouldnt have shackled themselves to Classic mentality.
What ruins it is they took raids designed for 40 man social groups and made them 20 man, people geared up quicker and nothing I. The raids was that different or interesting. I mean 3 heat levels for MC ….. lame
Parts of SoD were a failure. I’m one of the ones who quit during the whole incursion phase. But in saying that I started playing again not long before classic fresh and was enjoying myself. I think if they hadn’t of made those few big mistakes we might not even have classic fresh right now. They pushed players out and back to retail, hardcore etc.
same here, but the biggest issue i had was making 20man raids in p3, I was hoping that SoD would be pure 10man, 20mans ruined my and a lot of other guilds since the difficulty was hard in first couple of resets. Idk nothing about lvl 60 as i couldnt care less about SoD at this point
"pvp was really good at the start" bro did we play the same game? p1 was one of the most busted phases with hunter pets soloing whole parties, ret palas killing people with a single combo, boomies similiar. P1 was as problematic as the other phases, people were just still hyped for the new season and all the problems were not immediately apparent during that phase. player numbers compared to other phases are also inflated due to people playing way more alts
Hollistically good. The PVP combat like said in the video, was already very powercrept. Did you hear what I say or just stopped at sentences without comprehending the whole context behind. ( Namely, I mentioned Ashenvale PVP faction vs Faction instead of the FFA we have gotten with Bloodmoon)
I think the game itself just doesn't haven enough pool of players. Too many options nowadays. They're rehashing old content. Retail feels like a lost ark knock off.
SoD is goated, game was so fun, they never should have released fresh classic right now, instead delayed it until naxx was done in SoD and actually put some time into tuning PvP numbers, add a cool new PvP-Event and another new Dungeon into Silithus. SoD was never about difficulty, it was always about fun and more advanced class design. I hope with the long promised actual Classic+ they can find more of a balance between difficulty and class design
Classic fresh is just that, fresh with nothing new. Same old shit. It’ll be only kind on par with SoD starting from TBC as only then will you have some of the abilities you have now in SoD. Same with tier gear, in era it’s tailored for one specific spec, if you’re used to another spec that’s just though luck as you’ll never get gear for it and thus won’t be needed in raids
Forr sure did not fail, as the "few" that like and play classic did know 200% what they get into. :) The ones that has mems from many years ago will stop after a few days just on the running around part and hunt for money. :))
The shaman imbalance in PvP and that one phase where you just sat at the quest hub for 3 hours for max level of the phase and tons of gold with almost bis gear just killed it for me. I get mad thinking about it like the game of thrones ending.
Well, I do see some numbers in SoD, Doesn't change the sentiment that they went a bit too far with SoD ( Which they will most likely fix in Classic+ 2026 )
Its season of anniversary now bois classic fresh
Incursions ruined the game. The open world content was also horrible.
Don’t forget about ST! And levelling alts!

All in all i prefer vastly when the runes alter playstyle more then just adding damage, and when multiple runes are viable for a slot.

go back to retail we dont like you
when i saw the new spells, i thought u could see they didnt put it any effort. Ppl were defending blizz hard for that crap called sod
I’m part of the crew that whinged about incursion in p3, knowing full well I’d just be in SM anyway lmao

Everyone loved p1 because it was fresh and devs were milking the "Classic+" hype post-Hc
Haunt instant kekw
Of course it did. What a stupid question.

I love sod
It failed so hard
ste limbo in between phases lost me is all
Yes and thank god it did. Dont touch the classes new zones, dungeons, raids, bgs only.

@@hansthienpont5328 skill issue tbh. just find a guild that will take you.
@@knifegirl485 😂😂😂 I run 2 guilds. Our main SoD one and a new one on fresh. All our guildies feel the same, until TBC hits, SoD is best
Seasonal

I think it's an inbetween. It failed to build on the things that they made very well imo.
The powercreep was way too high.
No it didn’t lol just fresh hype but people already coming back cuz they’re tired of how slow it is
cope harder

SoD is ded…
