1:32 “SHUT THE VET DOWN! NO MORE VET!!!” has lived in my head rent-free for years
I am die hard bucs fan and that was one of the greatest things i ve ever seen. I remember running through my house in joy after that happened almost in tears. We will always be known for shutting down the vet.
Well deserved win for bucs. I remember how sad and mad everyone was since I’m an eagles fan but y’all came to our stadium and did that, it made everyone speechless
same here, couldn't stop jumping up and down
I was a Philly kid who moved here with my brother in 83. We instantly changed our alliance to the BUCS. We lived though so many bad years we cried when this happened. We felt bad for our family and friends but we deserved this. We listened on the radio every year because home games weren't televised. We had new hope every year at the draft. That win was for the fans!
@@dkmurphy6129damn that's a dope story as a birds fan who's been in Tampa since 95 I cried
I enjoyed that win more than winning the SuperBowl
Born and raised in Tampa and that was one of the happiest days ever!
he's in guys!!!!! he's in the freaking hall of fame!!!! this dude was and always will be awesome!
That Tampa team had the best scoring defense I'd ever seen
Theo Hanna miss it
Best defense ever if were speaking points allowed. 196 thru the entire season teams averaged 11.6 points per game on us. Even the great bears defense didn't do that.
Ray Lewis and Chris McAlister (2000 Ravens) are handing their beers off to be held. 165 total points allowed. #BetterThanBucs
@@nixaler The only defense better than the 2002 Bucs.
That Ravens team alower less points but they didn't score on defense like the Bucs. You take into account all the pick sixes by that Bucs D and you have to conclude they were better.
HALL OF FAMER Ronde Barber!
Hard to believe that was 20 years ago. THAT IS THE BIGGEST PLAY IN THE HISTORY OF TAMPA BAY SPORTS!! My phone was ringing before Mr. Barber crossed the goaline. Picked up my phone and heard like 5000 fans at a game watching party on Clearwater Beach (yep, it was like 70° and Sunny
This STILL gets me pumped up!!!!!!! .......Congrats Ronde on your Hall Of Fame induction! WELL DESERVED!!!!!
That was OUR SUPER BOWL!
Oakland was icing in the cake.
Go Bucs!!!!!!!
How about another?
Damn it makes me so happy every time I hear about how devastated the eagles fans were when that happened.
Me 2
U sound like a cowboys fan
@@blainebarnett8449 giants
@@blainebarnett8449 why the hate with philly? I would think saint fans hate vikings lol
After what the Bucs went through with those Eagles, I enjoy hearing the misery from this game in their voices.
HIGHEST SCORING DEFENSE OF ALL TIME! GO BUCS!
I love the expression of the Eagles coach standing next to Reid; refuses to turn & watch Ronde go, just chomping on that gum. Lololololololol
Beautiful moment. Lmao
🤣
It wasn't just this 1 play. Ronde had already broken up passes, caused a fumble strip off of McNabb, and played a hell of a game even before the greatest pick 6 in Bucs franchise history. If you re-watch the whole game you can see how Barber sets up and baits McNabb into thinking he can make this throw. The guy had a legit HOF career and this game just put a spotlight on it, 1 of the best to ever wear a Bucs uniform.
So instrumental in being an integral part of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. One of the greatest and thank God he was on our team.
Ah, the pain on the faces of Eagles fans after that game, makes me smile to this day...
Ronde should be in the hall of fame
To think Ronde was two sacks away from being the only Defensive Player in NFL History with 40+ Inceptions AND 30+ Sacks is incredible. He definitely should make the Hall of Fame
Finalist this year.
FINALLY
Not only did the Bucs close the vet, but they also won the first game in the Lincoln financial field. Also lol at all these butthurt eagle fans complaining that this doesn't deserve to be on the list. You're just wrong.
Micah The same bucs team won their debut in a Super Bowl.
No sensible reason that this shouldn't be on the list.
It's 1 of the largest chokes for the Eagles on the 2nd Largest stage
The Eagles finding ways to crash and choke.
Jason Case Amen to that LOL
Jason Case Not anymore Eagles
On another note why do you trash talk the Eagles for choking? The biggest moment in your teams history is a giant choke in the Super Bowl
Micah lol they are still salty about it buncha sore losers they never even stood a chance in that game
freedomfighter Nah, were good. We got our ring. You’re still living in 2002 the last time you were relevant. Have fun with that!
As a bucs and giants fan, this was one of the greatest moments I have ever watched
Bandwagon can’t be fan of 2
@@LuisRiestra-f2q my dad is a bucs fan and went to the first games when the bucs came into the league, and I grew up in ny but the bucs are my #1 and the giants are #2
I remember jumping off my couch screaming. We going to Super Bowl!!
This is probably the greatest Tampa Bay moment to me ever..it gives me chills still..
And nothing feels better than hearing those who represent the worst NFL Fan base be hurt by this :D
The game that gives me nightmares to this day as an Eagles fan. With that good luck in SB 55 TB!
Now they have a great QB in TB12!
This one play is now Buc's folklore!!!!! Epic....Brilliant....simply AWESOME!!!!!!
0:20 it’s funny how NFL stories have a way of repeating. People expected the 2020 Bucs to freeze in Green Bay too.
And now the Bucs also have TB12!
Congrats Ronde. Finally HOF !
Ronde needs to be in the HOF!!!
Same with alstott! Imo simeon rice belongs in there too
Congratulations.. He made it in this year!
Single greatest play in buc history
From 1997-2003 was the best stretch of Tampa bay football
As a die hard Bucs fan since 1981, this was the greatest play ever. When Ronde was 20 yards from the end zone, my friend looked at me and we said, simultaneously, "We're going to the Super Bowl!" This was even better than winning it all in San Diego. 😊🏈
My personal fav player of all time, also my fav play of all time! Thanks Ronde!!!
I have loved the Bucs forever. I remember that day so well.
1:25
"I CANT HEAR YALL? WHAT HAPPENED TO THE FIREWORKS? [where you goin] WE GOIN TO SAN DIEGO!" lol
Ronde better make the HOF I mean look at his numbers
He will
LMAO no.
One of 2 players with 25 sacks and 25 ints. Definitely deserves it.
@@BANGITSME87 are you dumb?
The only player in NFL history with over 25 sacks and 45 interception
He also intercepted 47 passes in his career with the Buccaneers 🏴☠️
-not to mention an additional 28 career sacks
All these years later and it's still painful to watch. It's goes down as the worst and most painful loss in my eagles history.
As a Buc's fan this was my proudest moment.
Absolutely criminal he’s not in the hall
One of my fav moments in sports
As an Eagles fan this still hurts. Even after winning a Superbowl.
Facts that and the cardinals game was the most painful as A "Fan"
Whenever I run into an Eagles fan I always ask him if his favorite game ever was the last game at The Vet.
Punk ass
I think I'm going to put this on repeat later tonight to fall asleep.
Seems bucs currently have eagles number. I believe 4 victories in a row over them. Mcnabb must have nightmares of barber. Ironic how they were the first to beat eagles at Lincoln financial field as well as another poster pointed out earlier. Underrated rivalry
the end got so depressing that they had to add happy music underneath
This was so fantastic
I became a BUCS fan when I was 5. I cried my heart out when Ronde picked it off and returned it. Being 6 at the I was blessed to watch this BUCS defense.
Love this and I'm a bucs fan!! Eagles fans got put in their place
Ripped the heart out of Philly.
We all know that the Malcolm Butler interception is gonna be on this list.
TheGuyShahid probably number one
Captain Spartan 04 yup
TheGuyShahid dumbest play-call in the history of sports! I'm surprised there wasn't more uproar PUBLICLY from Seahawks players about that call, but they all like their coach & they're a tight squad. They're catching steam now too (now that Tampa Bay kicked some sense into their asses). Should be an interesting playoff race in Dec.
Nope it was the 28 - 3 comeback Patriots pickd. Funny because the Butler interception ranks #1 in my book and I'm a Bucs fan. Dude won THE game in one play. #Leastmode
Between this and the super bowl beating they gave Oakland, I really haven't followed the NFL cause I knew it couldn't get any better than those 2 games.
Irishhaf and we crushed the Niners the week before this in the Divisional round
@@WillyM79 and now they won another Super Bowl with TB12!
Put this man in the HOF already man!!
Jon Gruden: "Hogwash".
Best comment when asked beforehand about his views about the Bucs playing in cold weather.
There are Bucs fans who rank this as the greatest play in team history... and this is over ANY of the big plays made in their Super Bowls.
No loss hurt more than this one and as a Philly fan I saw a lot of championship losses growing up (84 flyers, 87 flyers, 93 Phillies, 97 flyers , 01 sixers). Ever since they won in 2017 I feel like I’m good. Don’t really care as much.
still one of my favorite sports moments, did you see the crow throwing bottles in the endzone...LOL
Lmao this whole description is based off the perspective of eagles fans. Christ
I think that is what it makes it better. So much salt from all the tears.
Sandbar knocked the fight outta Rocky. He tried again the next season, Sandbar whooped his ass a second time XD
0:43. McNabb jogging towards Barber at the 25 yard line like, “Nah, I ain’t paid to tackle.”
Most heartbreaking loss in Eagles history
All good bro, we got SB LII! 😎🍺
Not for me. We won 3 games a few years earlier, I still feel so lucky and blessed that my little Eagles took me with them to the nfc championship that year. It was a hell of a ride, and a lot of fun. That team will always be champions in my heart.
It shouldn't really be remembered that way, if you ask me. Do you recall any detailed analysis explaining why Thrash and Pinkston would dominate Barber, Brooks, and Lynch? No, we were led to believe that the Bucs had been preemptively routed by a thermometer.
The Eagles might have overcome McNabb's injury, had Reid adjusted to Rice dominating the LT. They couldn't overcome Andy Reid's pride, however. Great game planner, terrible real-time strategist. Is he too proud to adjust? I think so. Only a proud fool would consider starting Blaine Bishop in the NFC title game.
The 2002 Eagles truly are a cautionary tale of sports hubris. When compared against the Saints in 2019 (refball), the Bills of the early 90's (four straight), or even the Hasek led Sabres (Hull's skate in the paint), I don't think it's that bad.
Ronde drinking Eagle fan's tears.
Hahahahah thanks for showing the sad perspective of this from Eagles fans, but I was having the time of my life, best play in Bucs history.
Remember it Like it was yesterday! Go BUCS!!
You feel bad for a couple seconds, but then you realize- Oh it’s the eagles fans
Greatest Buccaneers play ever.
This was a great game I remember saying Tampa Bay was the greatest defense who can score when they want #NFL00s
Last defense to surrender < 200 points for a season!
Go Ronde barber
😂😂😂 at Colleen Wolfe!
Why isn't he in the Hall of Fame?
It doesn’t hurt anymore!!
Barber bros my fav. Momma done them right!
You knew this was the play...a TB changer.
'Skins were the only team to turn the lights out at their last stadium with a W
-Giants lost their last game at the Meadowlands
-Cowboys lost their last game at Texas Stadium
-Eagles...well, you know.
D.C. hasn't had much to cheer for lately - but that's pretty nice.
dcbandnerd The Falcons won their last game at their stadium.
Vikings won the last game at the Dome.
@@faraway9003 and then blew a 25 point lead in the SB
I feel like that 02 Bucs defense had more defensive TDs than any other defense ever
As a bucs fan I see this as an absolute win
Eagles' tears...tasty.
Will E. 2018 super bowl champs 😂😂 🦅🦅🦅 lmao
That face at 1:08 LMAO
SUPA DUPA TIGHT
That was the first ever Tampa Bay win in below-freezing temperature in Franchise history. Literally.
No it wasnt they beat the Bears in the cold that year too if im not mistaken it was the last game of the regular season
money jones I remember that they just got field goals the whole time right? I thought that wasn’t freezing temp though but you could be right.
@@cosmosaic8117 It was .... the temp that game was below 40 ... watch the full game replay ... but they did win that game with only FGs
As a Dallas Cowboys fan watching that was delicious thanks Ronde Barber
you said it
Julian Smith yeah ... its delicious now watching your cowboys not winning a playoff game in god knows when and we SB Champs 2018 fly eagles fly 🤣🤣
History isn't on your side cause the last NFC team to repeat was my Dallas Cowboys in 1993
Yes!! I absolutely love Barber. Thank you God.
Got a signed mini helmet by ronde barber even witshed be happy birthday on! mad respect
I love how pinkston just quits at midfield pursuing barber
I'm so glad I wasn't an Eagles fan yet (I was only 9) so that I didn't have to experience this heartbreak.
It absolutely sucked. But years and finally seeing them win one in 2017 took some of the pain away. Every dog has his day eventually.
What goes comes around the eagles repeatedly got to celebrate the misery by defeating the bucs mostly the playoffs and the tables turned in the worst way with the bucs defeating the crashing Eagles in what was the nfc championship game the final game at the Vet.
The Eagles will forever remember the Valiant Bucs defeating them with a dagger to the heart heartbreaking harrowing unforgettable way.
Jason Case Just like the Vikings will remember the Eagles
RIP Monte Kiffin. Had a hand in this play.
Couldn't have happened to a more deserving fan base and dumpy-ass stadium.
Someone needs to make this into a celine a scene, I swear it'll make this moment even better. Someone has to do it
#1 in my opinion
how is he not in the HOF?
HALL OF FAMER
20 years ago today.
21 years ago today. Go Bucs.
That WAS our Super Bowl. All of Tampa Bay knew that if we went through "Vet-hell" and defeated the Eagles, there was NO WAY Oakland, or any other AFC opponent would be able to handle our defense in the Super Bowl.
I was at Lincoln Financial last year when Tampa Bay blew out the Eagles. Ah, it was a beautiful vacation I tell ya. :-D
Best part about it was I lived in Tallahassee at the time in high school, and for some awful reason a ton of people were cheering for the raiders. After that ass whooping I wore my Buccaneers jacket in 80 degree weather, just to rub it in.
I say that all the time. That game was bigger to me than the Super Bowl being from the Philly area and always have been a Bucs fan (Fins also). I went the 2 playoff games the 2 years before and for some reason just had feeling about this one and decided not to go since there not too many Bucs fans in this area
I went to that game. 2015 sucked for the Birds
Tasty Eagles tears
We Walk Among Giants W
TrendNation SB champs 2018 😂😂
They should have shown Buccaneers fans reaction as well.
Gotta respect ya legends in order too be great
The Bucs shutdown that dump in Philly, then the NFL made them open up the next year on the road instead of having a proper home game to open the season like they should have. No matter the Bucs embarrassed the Eagles again to open up that new dump of a stadium. LOL!
LMAO look at the dump you fools play in.
It sucks being a Philly fan😩😂
Kevin N not no more 2018 SB champs 🤣🦅🦅🦅🦅
from a Bucs fan, congrats! Maybe we'll be relevant again soon, and rekindle that early 2000's eagles-bucs rivalry.
This aged well
Love it!!!
So sweet
Colleen Wolfe was already a eagles fan so you should hate the Giants RB Tiki Braber
And Tampa Defense did it again in 2024 🎉
I watched this game almost 20 years ago I love the bucs I bet over 500 bucks on this game rent money I had to win if not my wife was putting out when Barber stepped in front of the pass I cried like a baby torment of the bucs was over
On 1/16/22 it will be repeated at Ray Jay in Tampa Bay! #GOBUCS
