False, it is taxable. It works just like any bonus program, similar to my work, where you are issued points that can be turned in for reward. It is taxed when the points are issued, so you don't have an impact when used.

It’s no different than Tesla, or Apple, or whoever else giving their employees stocks in the company. It’s a private company. Its assets are the cards. I see nothing wrong with it unless it’s cards that are expected to be in products that consumers can hit.

One of my favorite cards I own is the 2007 employee upper deck quad patch of Jordan/Lebron/Kobe/KD.
Employees get bonuses for working with the company and that’s a cool idea being recognized with perks money doesn’t fulfill.
You get to be apart of history just like employees who get rings and bonuses from sports teams.
Let them keep or sell it if they want. Some people might want to trade that hockey card for the card they actually want.
Collector WANT to acquire rare things like this!
    Let it happen!

While F1 races have weird start times for us in the US, the races are easy to find on TV with them on ESPN/ABC. While the F1 market may be small compared to football/basketball, those that are into it are fanatical in a great way. Also, F1 Topps now makes some really nice cards and uses great images, I personally think they use better images for those cards than they do for chrome/sapphire.

“Employee cards” have been around and being sold for years. The big league influencer cards are similar in a less valuable way. The “influencers can easily and prob do list them on eBay and sell them for $80-100 each. They were each given a nice little stack.

Even the Oscar award can now never be sold. It is awarded to the actor, but it can never be sold according to the Oscar agency who awards them. Why couldn't a card company make some cards unable to be sold too? 😮

I remember way back when Magic: The Gathering had just blown up I went to DragonCon (1994 I think) and one of the things they gave us in our gift bag at check in was a unique Magic card of a Dragon with the DC logo where the set logo usually was. Within hours people were on the pay phones selling them for up to $500 each! (imagine what it would have done if E-bay existed, thousands I'll bet.) 3 weeks after DragonCon the new issue of Wizard magazine came out with a copy of that card in EVERY issue. The card dropped from hundreds of dollars to $1 over night. What if UD has more of these Bedard cards to be inserts in a soon to be released product?

Topps has absolutely butchered the cut autos from transcendent. They got both of the historical auto guys and even the card collector guys mad this time! Some prime examples are the Willie McCovey, Mark Twain, and Theodore Roosevelt among others.
