Tanya which fret crowning file are you using here . Is that the FG diamond ? Looks like a nice tool I’m curious. You may do well posting affiliate links for some of the luthier tools you use . Thanks for the vids
Another great video! I love when you comment/describe what you are doing, and why. Please continue doing that! It’s also nice that you take us up close to the fine work when filming. Am glad I still have a lot of your videos left to enjoy…

I wish I could do half the stuff you do in your videos. Your fret work looks outstanding. Inspires me to do more than just my normal setups. Keep it up!
@@Paul-rt4ix after sanding them with high grit sandpaper, you polish them with polishing compound. It's a paste that you rub into a polishing pad and then rub the surface with the pad. It's best to use a power tool to speed up the process. A dremel with a polishing pad attachment is what Tanya is using in this video.
Nice work as always. I love graph tech nuts for L.P. style guitars. You and my wife share the Tanya name. She is actually "Tatyana", born in Siberia and moved to Yerevan Armenia as a teenager. Then to America and we met and married in 2007. She does industrial sewing, I repair and rebuild guitars/build acoustic after retiring as a carpenter. Thank you so much for ALL the wonderful videos you have made.
Great work, pretty guitar. I love a Les Paul. That one looked barely played. EDIT: I have a 78 Gibson Les Paul Deluxe (Black Beauty) That I am getting restored now as we speak, and this is great to watch.
Well and truly brought that geetar back to life! Nicely done :) Seeing how you did the headstock particuly usefull as i have a bit of a rough spot on my les paul that could use that treatment. Excellent work as always, some proper skill right there :)
I started using that same wax cuz I saw you using it . . so far I like, however I dab a hair bit of lemon or rosewood oil on top of it for more sheen . . works TY
Yeah, please don’t start playing the guitars at the end. There are thousands of guitar playing videos on UA-cam. Yours are unique. Showing your skills without talking or music and just the sounds of your labor is what makes these videos so enjoyable.
I was thinking the same. Although I get why some would only want the asmr part of the video. Maybe a video of just playing before and after would be nice.
Totally agree with you. people wouldn't buy a new car and then kick in the panels and break a window just to give it more mojo. So why do it to a guitar? It doesn't make sense to me.
I am amusing you had a very good teacher. Either he or she can be very proud of you! I particularly like the way you just eye things up without the use of fancy tools. You have proved it’s not rocket science! Love your work!
Отличная работа! Верхний порожек нужен костяной, у него другой тон. И прорези для струн должны быть ложбинкой так, чтобы струна лежалана на 1/3 своей окружности и не глушилась, как если бы она лежала глубоко в прорези.
From beginning to end you make sure it is done right and set up right. I appreciate the care you give to your work. Honestly I don’t have the attention span to watch videos on UA-cam from beginning to end but I do yours. I even look at all your background stuff. Hugs for great job Tanya !!!
Well done, I do work on guitars as well just not for a living though. I mulled through a few of these comments and had to laugh a bit thinking to myself if half these comments would even be there if you were a guy lol! Regardless, nice refinishing job on this LP 🤙
I used to have a Gibson Flying V and it came with those plastic head Kluson (?) tuners, and they were awful. If I'd kept it, I'd have put some proper tuning machines on it, for sure. That thing looked fabulous once you got through with it!
Very cool, I know you were doing it by eye but what's your optimal spacing when your checking 1st fret clearance with with straight laying on the nut and the 2nd fret.
I can play the guitar, have for 20ish years. Self taught 100%, which means I am NOWHERE near as good as I should be. Lately I have found myself getting more enjoyment out of luthier work rather than playing. I just LOVE working on my guitars. Swapping electronics, pots, pups, wires etc. Stripping and refinishing. Removing old caps and adding flamed maple caps and staining...it is endlessly enjoyable. Playing has totally taken a back seat.
how did u sand the headstock to get ride of the sanding marks? what is that sponge you are using with the drill around 11.48? im doing a similar job but have lots of swirl marks from the sanding. thanks :) lovely result
First, really enjoy your videos. I am learning a lot! Question...what are you looking for when your gauging the nut height? What your doing seems more accurate than how I was taught?
Really curious where I can get those sanding pads you used for the fret polishing! Also what grits (and how many grits) are you using? I’m just a amateur but I love your work!
Very fine work. Thanks! Two questions. 1. Why do folks glue on the nuts? I've never used glue for a nut that fits. I also change strings one at a time unless cleaning someone's ill-treated, contaminated guitar. 2. What on earth happened to that guitar's finish?!?
There some typical YT scam activities, beware. If you got similar messages this is definitely not me. I do not provide any giveaways or somenthin that kinda stuff.
I’m just curious do you mainly fix guitars or do you play for fun as well and are these your guitars you fix or other people guitars.
Tanya which fret crowning file are you using here . Is that the FG diamond ?

@JoeyChopstixx Yes it is a fg diamond dagger, but it was out of stock when I check last time. Also their action gauge is a must have))
@@TanyaShpachuk Thank you, that is an impressive looking file for sure

Fabulous work, Tanya! Loved that you went for the new nut rather than fill with superglue and bone dust! ❤

Nothing beats the look of mirror polished frets 😍
How would i get them to that polished state?

Its weird , I am a luthier and still enjoy watching luthier videos. Even after working on guitars the whole day.
Thanks for letting us look over your shoulder! Best Regards and Best Wishes!

It looks simple, but it's very precise. I'm enjoying it!
Lovely craftwork, enjoyed this process, subbed! 👏🏻🎸💫
Thanks!!
Если бы была возможность, я бы без всяких сомнений принёс свой Gibson Les Paul именно этому мастеру! Выше всяких похвал! Удачи и процветания!
I could watch you work for hours 😊
I liked your refret video! Very cool! keep up the great work!
The world would be a better place if everybody was a Luthier. 👍
If u can play the guitar after u finish the job…that will be perfect 🎉

Fantastic job again
@14:35…I have never seen anyone check nut slot depth like that…it’s brilliant…well done👍
Thank you!
I would have used baking soda and superglue to build up the slot. No kidding.
Previous was graphtech too , and I found that with time soda and ca not really likes to bond with this material
love your channel, nice work on the guitars !
Sweet little wrench for that pickup switch nut.

I have bought a few Les Pauls brand new over the years and the frets didn’t look as nice as the ones you reworked. 👍
What was that fret crowning tool you used? I have never seen one like that.
Do you edit the videos yourself or does someone else do it, such a great job?!
Great job .. what size fret wire do I use on Gibson Les Paul ? Any help and information is much appreciated.
any videos in the future of showing a Warped neck or Twisted neck repair?
Please talk to us about what your gonna do with . Would love to hear your voice

that off centre treble - rhythm switch cap though

Few drops of glue is always good idea, add some secure, and fill the air gaps.
Someone did a really horrible refinish job)))
