I actually just bought the pattern. I’d been hesitant, but finding several videos on picking your size, deciding on individual pattern elements, how to do the stitches, sleeve separation etc. got me to finally cave into the lure of this pattern. Now the massive UA-cam binge has started, andI even found ways to adapt the pattern to a smaller needle size and recalculate where the arm separation needs to happen, or how to account for wider sleeves and a little less positive ease in the body. All good things considering I am, like you, a spinner as well. And let’s face it: some times a fibre just wants to be spun a certain way. And the Ranunculus is one of those patterns that’s perfect for homespun yarn because it’s basically a build-a-sweater pattern with a beautiful yoke. Looking over the many precise details on stitch count throughout the yoke also means (well, to me…) that if I really want to, I could also go “yoke-less” and simply use short rows or ‘hide’ increases inside bobbles or other decorative stitches or use raglan stitches to mix things up even more. It’s a great start to learn to build your own top down sweater. A past in clothing confection taught me that there’s roughly 5 cm of ease difference between two consecutive sizes. And in a video I just watched I learned a neat trick on how to measure where sleeve separation needs to be done when you don’t have anyone helping you… you can use some scrap yarn tied to a ruler to measure it all by yourself. Yay! 54 years old and I learned something new. Probably casting on tomorrow. Can’t wait…
I love your ranunculus! It’s kind of magical how it just seems to work. I made mine in cotton because I live in a warm climate but even as I was binding off I was thinking about the next one. Sign of an exceptional pattern. Your video may have just given me the nudge 😆.
Hi, I knitted my first Ranunculus this summer, in a cotton-silk blend 80-20! I loved the yarn and the result, I think I’ll do several more….in thin mohair, in thickwool, short sleeve, long sleeve…..I fully understand the Ranunculus “hype”!😊 Love it! Mine is light grey. Your Ranunculus is gorgeous!
Hi are you talking about this one? the Felice Blouse, I knit it with 2 strands of Tofino knit co. Mohair 💖 www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/felice-blouse?buy=1
Hi Eve! Love your Ranunculus. This sweater/tee of Midori is addictive. I have two, one for summer in cotton and the other for winter with mohair and they always look great. I'm sure it won't be the last. 😜 Love your channel!
I haven’t made my first ranunculus, but I will cast one on this weekend. I need one! Also, what is the name of the sweater you wore at the beginning. It looked like a mohair sweater. Gorgeous 🧶
I have been on the fence for a while now to knit a ranunculus. I am still on the fence lol but who knows. Maybe I will eventually cave and knit it ;) T x
I just cast on the ranunculus this morning. Why the heck did I wait so long?! It’s so much fun and the pattern is so well written.
it really is a great simple knit, with lots of variety💛

Yay! So happy you loved it! Cotton is such a smart choice for warm weather. The pattern is really magical! it just keeps you wanting more of it! 💛✨
Yes, I think your video might be the last push I needed. I will try to knit it in mohair to wear over dresses in the winter. Thank you ❤
