Good stuff brother! I know this area well! Grew up in Panaca, now I ride So. Utah, No. Utah, and So. Nevada regularly. That's a solid day on a DR, glad it went well!
Really enjoyed your video. Nevada/Utah are my 2 favorite states to ride. I've done both 318 and 93. I 've also done 50 all the way across a couple of times. I like the middle of nowhere kind of places, they're so different from northern WI.
Glad that you're back and feeling better! I have a question about your tires. I have the same tires and I'm getting a good wobble at around 70-80mph. Do you have anything happening like that?
Have you tried spraying bed liner coating on the inside of the bash plate to eliminate that echoing sound? I’ve also put rubber grommets at the attachment points and that worked
Well, aren't you a glutton for punishment. 😂 Some long, straight stretches of pavement out there without much in between towns. That big tank sure is a comfort to have, if not heavy. I presume you are using stock gearing.
That's so nice, no thugs in dodge chargers and rocket bikes terrorizing the place, marijuana stench at every stop light, crazy traffic, fast food joints, vape n tabaco shops, no trash all over the place, no violence and stressed out people everywhere like in the cities. you must be in heaven.. Wait you can't be quite in heaven, I don't see a KLR650 🙂
My biggest question is how did your seat hold up on the DR aftermarket seat after 500 miles? That always seems to be my determining factor on how far I go.
I have the Pro Cycle Standard seat, it served me well. The last hundred miles got uncomfortable mainly due to the triple digit heat. Maybe the addition of a sheepskin would reduce some friction.

No skid plate is ALWAYS a bad idea. I'd duct-tape scrap innertube pieces between metal parts before I rode without.
505 miles... good job!
Glad you feeling better and back on the bike

Thanks for the video. Living vicariously through your videos and it's the best.
Yea, glad to see you are back and comleted a 500 mile day! Enjoyed this video and looking forward to your upcoming Mexico adventure!
Mount the skid plate with a quarter inch sheet of rubber between the skid plate and the frame. No rattle at all.
Looked like a great ride, really enjoyed the video
I have the Acerbis skid plate with those engine bars. 60 seconds with a dremmel resolves the fitment issue. :)
Exactly!

Awesome stuff. I'm jealous.
Great ride I've only done around 200 in a day but I'm a noob. I need to come out that way with my 1990 KLR 650 Tengai and ride Great Basin area...
really awesome adventure looking forward for baja videos cheers Bro

No, I haven't had an issue with the D Sports.
Have you test ridden himalayan 450.

I’ve heard that metal skid plates are just too loud, especially on the DR. I guess they reflect all of the engine noise up at you.
What helmet do you have? Great videos.
Scorpion EXO AT950. Appreciate you watching!
my butt hurts from you just talking about 500, i did 425. xr650L byways are the way to go, longer but make the travel very nice.

I wouldn't have to go far to find all of that, just a few miles west into Las Vegas...

well done! , I'll look for you in Mexico. I'm heading that way soon, I'll be on the guzzi v85
What parts you riding?
@precipiceofgrind I'd like to go to La paz, but I don't think I'll have the time. So most likely about half way down and back
