Wash and gos actually helped me grow my hair. My hands were out of my hair, I wore satin bonnets, I re-moisturised every three days. It was actually easier to do and manage.

Although I've read and seen many times about the trouble people had with tangles and SSKs I never had that problem so I kept doing wash-n-go styling most of the time. Length retention hasn't been an issue either. My hair is tailbone length, and yes it has shrinkage but I just let it do what it wants and I don't try to stretch it so when it drys it's only bra strap length.

I agree with a lot of women in the comments. I tend to go between wash and go’s, braid outs, and braid and curls. I think people get breakage because they try to make a wash and go last 7+ days, instead of refreshing every 4-5 days. I think with natural hair, there will always be single strand knots. I tend to shingle whenever I do wash and go’s, and whenever I feel a knot on a strand I just snip it. I think they key to having a good wash and go without breakage is having a good leave in, a good gel to form a nice cast (and a protective layer for the curls to last longer) and well as a good way to put hair up before bed. I don’t stretch with a blow dryer, but I do band my hair at night and that stretches the curls nicely. Sometimes I put a little oil on my hands and just do two single plaits and twist the very ends, and that gives me a good 3-5 days before I refresh again. A wash and go can be refreshed. We can’t be afraid to re-moisturize and re-wet, and apply more product as needed. It’s a learning process but worth it 💕

Hi Jenn, I just wanna say single strand knots are different from split ends. In fact, I kind of think they protect our hair from split ends. I used to think they were the same until I actually saw spilt ends (usually on straighter haired people) and was like oh wow 😮 nah, I don’t have those 😂. The remedy to both is trimming though.
I love my W&G. Need to learn twist outs. Regardless of style, a comb does NOT pass through my hair unless it is wet! Also, recognising when to wash my hair- if its dry/frizzy, it needs a wash!
The advice about single strand knots makes me feel disheartened because I’ve done everything I can to prevent them. First off…. Your intro and outro music is BOMB!! Secondly, I had to do a double take and replay the part where you said “people are putting their man’s juice in their hair”!! Like, wait!! Whaaaaa😂
I’m starting back to basics because I’ve been doing wash-n-gos daily for 6 months and I thought my hair was thriving. Super moisturized, no detangling, no dryness or fairy knots nothing! But then I got braids…and then when I took them out my hair was severely dry and my stylist said my hair was starting to break up the shaft…I assumed it’s from my wash-n-go and not the braids…
Interesting, I get hella tangles & knots & my aunt who's a stylist said everyone that comes to her with wash n'gos are damaging their hair. I love my curls tho & am just learning how to make them look good. I think my biggest issue is because of anemia my ends always develop splits past shoulder length. I don't stretch my curls because when I do it gets frizzy 😅. I will also say, that goes againt the YT gurus is all those "no parabens & no sulfates" products did my hair dirty. Back in the day I used Pantene & Tresumé & had no issues with so many tangles & knots. Watched YT university & had me think I was doing it wrong all these years. Made a switch & now I get webbing, no matter how many times I detangle, it retangles. It's so ridiculous. I also trim my hair & dust them specific splits & moisturize so I blame the products for changing what actually worked for my hair. & Unfortunately, all those brands jumped on the "natural" bandwagon & changed their formulas, so again, idk. Sorry for the rant, appreciate the info sis 💙
I have 4c/4b/4a(?) hair but I actually can't pull off a wash and go because my hair at the back does not shrink as much as the hair in front. It's the same length but the back looks so much longer. So when I have tried wash and go's, it just looks like a really bad mullet.
It seems like more people wear a wash and gos more than any other style, maybe it's just me, lol nonetheless please continue to spread the gospel that watch and goes do not break your hair but all that other stuff very well could!!!!!

It's a beautiful hairstyle but it's not for everyone. No matter what I do, it breaks my hair mercilessly
THANKS......
First off…. Your intro and outro music is BOMB!! Secondly, I had to do a double take and replay the part where you said “people are putting their man’s juice in their hair”!! Like, wait!! Whaaaaa😂
I love Wash and Go's braids outs are my enemy lol
I’m starting back to basics because I’ve been doing wash-n-gos daily for 6 months and I thought my hair was thriving. Super moisturized, no detangling, no dryness or fairy knots nothing! But then I got braids…and then when I took them out my hair was severely dry and my stylist said my hair was starting to break up the shaft…I assumed it’s from my wash-n-go and not the braids…
Great info!
Is there a maintenance routine that you follow in between your washes? Or do you just keep it without product?
Great information! Great video!!!! Straight to the point!!!! LOVE your intro!!!!🤗🤗🤗🤗💖💖💖
I’d like to see your washing go over the course of the week to get more specific tips on how to care for the Wash N Go.
I love wash and go's, but it's too dry (and cold! I air dry) where I am in the winter to wear them constantly.
Everyone’s hair is different. To each his own. Have a great week. ❤
Hi Jenn,
Thank you for this info. I have kinky, coily, my cuticle surface is extremely brittle only when dry….what is your surface texture after it dries and how often do you wash it?
I have a rough surface texture and I was weekly on average.
do you have a video on how to achieve your hair in the video?
My hair is a twistout and I’ve linked a similar video in the description box BUT this specific one still be uploaded as a shorts 🙈❤️
The ones that hate shrinkage want pretty curls. 👀What? How? You just can’t. If you want pretty curls and longer hair just let your curls be. A der lol!
They are looking for a specific type of curls
A der!!! 😂😂😂😂😂took me out with that one
Don't like it for my fine hair and will never like it. To each their own.

I do also agree with you that wash n go does not broke our natural hair
Love you Jenn. When is the baby due? Boy or girl?
