I totally agree with you... I watched the first movie when it first came out in theaters and it was a travesty. On top of that atrocity, they then made number 2 and what the ride. The only good thing that came out of the Percy Jackson movies is Thalia. She isn't just a pretty actress but the two characters are perfect. Pretty much everything except the actors sucked. The actor casting for these movies was 2000%
most of that is water and not stomach acid, right? So like... after learning that he can control water, did Percy just never think to train himself in that department? Cuz he could have easily controlled the water current just enough to keep the boat safe if he had spent his past year actually training his God element.

It’s part of an irony thing. All children of the Big 3 fear what they control/their parents control. Percy fears drowning, Tahlia (Daughter of Zeus) falling, and Nico (Son of Hades) fears death. They fear this because it’s what their parents control, and if they were to drown, fall to their death, or die just like that it’s an internal dread that their parents gave up on them, betraying them and using their fears against them.
