To be honest, as a kid this series meant sooooooo much to be, and it still does. It made me take a second to get out of my reality, and made me feel like I am in this world, I’ma halfblood, I’ma hero. After reading all of the PJO series, HOO series, I cried tears of joy to the happy parts, and cried myself to sleep from the bad parts. I remember one time my parents walked in on me crying, and I could say is “Luke, you promised. Family,” while balling crying. This series will always hold a special place in my heart. Through all the hard times in my life, I knew i could escape my reality for a few hours and reread a Percy Jackson book. For this, I will always love you Rick for making me able to escape my reality and all my problems. It came to the point where I would dream about this series, and create my own adventures through it. I could be the hero for once. It inspired me to become an author myself, to create the same thing for another kid out there somewhere. I know it’s 1% chance that it will ever become as successful as Percy Jackson, but i still want to create that opportunity for another kid out there. That’s why when I first watched this movie, i legit wanted to punch the person who ruined my favorite book series. What logical person comes up with This? I got steaming mad. If this same thing happens for the Disney + series then I am going lose it. Let’s pray it’s going to be good

Does the movie do the books justice? Are the movies a good adaptation of the books? Nope. Nah. Not at all. Are the movies still enjoyable when you separate it's inaccuracies and view it as a stand-alone alternate version? In my opinion, yes! I felt like the scene where the water healed Percy the first time was really cool and the cast did amazing with the job they were given, Logan did amazing as Percy! There were a lot of hilarious moments especially the "this is a pen... this is a PEN!" and the "What are you doing? Don't walk on my roof." The deliveries of those lines were hilarious. I can agree the movies aren't good book adaptations but I don't agree that they are fully bad movies as they can be entertaining and enjoyable if your able to seperate it from the book and watch it as an alternate version.
I always wanted another Percy Jackson yes there is sea of monsters but there are still so many scenes that I want answers of if they would have filmed another one of the movies. (Another after sea of monsters)
Bruh, Luke's setup has always bothered me. Like, the man has a flatscreen playing COD, with 50 moniters, within a TENT and the volume all the way up. Not to mention the tent is entirely open. It. Just. Bothers. Me. How the fuck??!!!
I re-watched the movie last night I think it has become one of my comfort movies, I watched it for the first time when I was 10 in 2010, so it feels really nostalgic. I never really cared for the books or the universe per se, I just remember I enjoyed the movie, the chemistry of the trio, it feels adventurous and fun, plus the trio are gorgeous like they’re so good to look at, Logan my beloved I wish you had more movies. Insane how hated this movie is, i know is not book accurate but I couldn’t tell I haven’t read them, I was surprised it’s also badly regarded with critics and the gp, still no one will ever make me hate this movie maybe because as a 10 years old I decided it was good lol. But I mean, I also think Andrew Garfield Spider-Man first movie is one of the best Spider-Man movie mostly because of Andrew and Emma’s acting and chemistry, so I think I’m most of a character driven than trama driven person.
He is really cute but he was pretty funny in this movie. I just realize the girl was from White Lotus and the Mayfair witches series. Thought this movie was pretty entertaining overall.
I don't think I watched these movies. But i know they get a lot wrong, including the ages and plots. So say what you will by all means, but if this portrayal of Percy has one thing, it's that there is a certain chaotic energy here that is missing from the new series.
The new actor for Percy just doesn't feel chaotic and fun enough to be Percy in my opinion, it really missed the charm that I see in the books and Logan's portrayal

I just think he needs a little more snarky humor, inapproriate sass, and general fear and bewilderment towards the things that are happening. If he dialed all that up about 10-15٪ more and added some restless adhd energy (zoning out, tapping his foot, tripping over stuff, etc.), I think it would be a very strong performance.
