Synopsis:
Robert Downey Jr. electrifies as the man who could talk to animals: Dolittle. After losing his wife, he hermits himself away behind the high wall of his manor, but is forced to set sail on an epic adventure when the queen falls gravely ill. Agreed. One thing I like about this Dragon is she sometimes walks on all fours and her wings.
Personally I would like to think that's how Dragons actually walked if they actually existed in more than just legends and myths.

Lots to love about the design and effects. I'm particularly fond of the change in the glow - yellow, orange and blue depending on how hot her fire is, and the effects of the fire in her mouth when she's about to breath. A lot of work and effort was put into this dragon's appearance and I appreciate it.

So, fun fact, since flames turn blue the hotter they get, the moment she wasn't in pain anymore, her flames actually got _hotter_ than before
I remember saying "RDJ was just in the biggest movie of all time... his character was pivotal to an entire franchise... he can literally do ANY movie he wants to do after this! And oh um ok he's doing a Dr. Dolittle reboot."

That's the beauty of it...he can do any movie HE wants to do.
He has young children. They knew he was famous but were too young to watch him in Marvel movies.
Dolittle was meant for them and their age group. It's a very simple movie with a very good message, especially for young kids.
Everybody was expecting him to do some heavyweight " important" film and shoot for an Oscar to prove himself, and instead he made a movie for his children. That's one of the reasons why I like him so much.
Don't forget his most excellent acting as the violin playing, pipe smoking (I often wonder what he was smoking) Great British detective Sherlock Holmes... effortless acting to say the least

I've heard from people who grew up with others speaking Welsh accents that Downey did amazing in this performance. This was a pretty cool movie for families to get into.
It was an odd accent to be fair. Though we all gave him slack because he's American and of course a super cool dude.

Very close Welsh Accent. Extremely well done on his part. Didn't sound wrong, but it was a little off in small areas. Certainly nothing so wrong that it spoilt my attention to the scene - spent most of that laughing, especially at the squirrel!
@hyrulphicsound Even British actors let their natural accent slip now and then. The whole idea of an "American accent" makes no sense, because there's different accents all over the U.S. we are not held to a single one.
Meh...hardly. It's weird even to us not knowing different English accents. He was struggling. Didn't know this movie even existed, but came to comments to see why he sounds so weird
i notice that a lot of people complain about his Welsh Accent, and those people are American and English - as a Welshman, that accent is actually pretty good

It's a well-known fact that dragons aren't too particular in regards to what they ingest, although as we see in this particular instance, they rather should be.
Considering how LONG that stuff had been impacted there... it's amazing that it came out so nice and spotless clean.
40 feet of dragon, hundreds of years eating idiots in their armor, and not a speck of brown to be seen.
The effluvia should've sent doolittle flying like the squirrel and ended up in a heap like the guy checking out the pile of triceratops dung in the original Jurassic Park.

Also being said Dragon droppings could be akin to Ash...which might explain why she didn't suddenly start deficating. All the nutrient rich parts are digested or Burnt away while the bone and Armor are passed through

I always enjoyed this section of scenes from this movie 😏, aside from the humor & laughter during the dragon's treatment 🤣, but to the part when Dr. Dolittle & his family/team found the Eden Tree together. 😁 Especially when the doctor is finally letting go of his past. 😭

Who’d have thought that an American could pull off a taffy accent as well as the taffy’s themselves! Perhaps that’s why Michael Sheen swapped his accent for Robert Downey Jnr’s one and vice versa and it has to be said that RDJ is probably the most versatile actor of our time! His portrait of Black Face just shows you just how exceptional he is....
Dude - what RDJ did was an actor in black makeup. It was not blackface. Go look up a picture of Al Jolson in The Jazz Singer. That is Blackface. Blackface is a minstrel show knock off designed to ridicule black people with over exaggeration. You are spot on about the accent. And we agree, he is exceptional.

I love this movie! Robert Downey Jr. Is the most perfect Dolittle in my opinion, he truly feels feral and like one of them, I even feel he works better for the concept than the original. I think this dragon is beautiful and very cool! The fart joke made me laugh intensely, so I'm glad they put it in, especially when the bagpipes came out that had me in hysterics laughing! (Although dragons, Dino's, Kaiju, and other reptiles pull it off funniest, so it obviously would be funny in this case). I love how natural all of the animals look, this movie just works for me! I think it is a masterpiece!

Look, when I first heard of this movie it was due to this dragon scene "Dr. Dolittle healing a broken hearted dragon" and played by RDJr?! I thought this must be the most epic movie ever!!! In my mind I was expecting someone betrayed the dragon and now she doesn't trust anyone anymore, and knowing Dr.Dolittle, I assumed she also had some severe physical pain like something going wrong with her foot for example, something that would make it very difficult to take off or land, or walk, so she couldn't hunt properly and she was miserable both physically and mentally, and then after an epic battle, Dolittle convices her to allow him to help her, and gains his trust in some epic dialogue about life and wisdom! Then I started watching it and saw that she lost a loved one, perhaps her lover... she was suffering even more than I had anticipated but... then I decided to continue watching... and now I'm the one that's broken hearted...
Out of all the things I expected when I clicked on this clip, that was the last thing I expected.
