The facility to switch gear quickly and easily through gear sets is much-needed and welcome, but I am not inclined to spend money to unlock more than what is provided. I appreciate the informational video explaining how it will look and operate in-game!
I think this was a colossal mistake, in making us pay for this system. Two slots is basically nothing when you look at how many different possibilities exist now, not to mention what could come in the future. This is a prime example of why I am walking away from NW instead of waiting for them to wake up and treat us right.
I think the system is fine I have over 1600 hours and have many different gear sets. I'm a tank main and have many pvp sets and even healing sets. But on a realistic level I am only using about 10 sets on a regular basis that I would want to rapidly swap to. I do not believe that sets like crafting, harvesting, and refining should be part of this system. Those sets need a totally different system to make them less annoying. But if this system is so bad what do loadout systems look like in other mmos then?
while monetizing solutions to game play problems can provide an additional revenue stream for game developers, it is important for developers to prioritize the functionality and quality of the solution itself. If developers are primarily concerned with making money from a solution, they may not invest enough time or resources into ensuring that the solution is effective, balanced, and user-friendly. This can lead to frustration and dissatisfaction among players who may feel that the solution is not worth the money they paid for it.
I'm kindof confused about the functionality. If I'm wearing set "X" and I click wear set "Y", it looks like the gear I'm wearing goes into the slots for set Y rather than back where it belongs for set X. This is very unhelpful and when I have many more sets they are soon going to get confused as to which set is which. Very disappointing implementation.
Taking an extended break from NW at the moment... it is good to see functional gear set swapping. BUT... wtf... ONLY 2 gear sets, and must purchase more, is a slap in the face though with the amount of different gear set options in the game... multiple gathering and crafting sets, pvp, pve, etc...
Hey dude! Are there any changes to the storage shed? Sorting, grouping or perk search? The two slots would be fine if I could easily drag items to create a set in my shed storage, then set that stuff aside for easy equipping to a loadout when it's needed. I don't run around with 20 armor sets, maybe 3-4 max
I don't think enough people that play video games understand the technical limitations these games have on a systems and technical side. There are many internal reason as to why we might only be getting a max of 10 set at first pass of gear sets. These features are like paided paid gear sets and a season pass are the best way for them to ask for the needed funds to better the game for the future.
@@gingerlovesmmos Three is so few. Just to tank mutations I need six - one for each ward. Add in a luck set, pvp set, refiners, crafters, other combat roles (heal, tank, melee, ranged, caster, etc)... three is better than zero but it's not even close to solving the gear management situation. If you're going to allow one character to do everything, and require a different set for every activity in the game, you shouldn't lock the convenience to switch between them behind a paywall. They created a problem and are selling the solution.
So are you advocating that they add a subscription to the game, or is buying what you want at a one time cost too much of an ask? Not throwing shade, I’m just saying I’ve spent thousands on FFXIV and can’t play it unless I plan to keep spending money. I’ve spent $40 on new world and play it all the time? In FFXIV if you want more storage you rent it for a monthly fee, here you pay once and have it forever
@@gingerlovesmmos There are more solutions than the two you are offering. GW2 has no subscription and no requirement to purchase additional loadouts. Their system assigns every set you create a hexcode, which allows you to save and share as many as you could ever require. Simply copy/paste that hexcode and you're all set. Even looking at similar offerings in the space, Destiny 2 is offering 10 loadouts per character, so 30 across your account, AND they include all of your subclass options as well, for free, no sub. Warframe gives you 15. Hell even Runescape gives seven presets. New World seems to be selling us the most limited, barebones version of loadouts in the industry when other titles give away much more holistic offerings, in greater quantity, for free.
I like the layout of the gear set storage... having two is a complete joke... making you pay for a QOL issue in the game is 10 steps backward. This should be a completely free and should be unlimited. I have 20+ different sets I like to use. F for AGS on this
These look awesome wow exactly what I wanted to see. It's sad that they're paywalled but I guess it's fair considering how cheap the game has been this far. They should start you off with 3 or 4 gearsets, but I don't think it's that unreasonable to paywall something like having more than two (other games do the same thing nowadays). You can just change what's in the gearsets depending on what type of content you're doing so you can fast switch, meaning there isn't going to be any competitive advantage past two in PVE. The rest is just convinience / QOL.

Yeah, I do feel they would do good for the players by including at least 5.

@@geassmuffin runescape gives you 7 free loadouts. 3 is just not enough.

Kinda sucks that they are including so little gear sets for free. You definitely would need a lot more.
They say you can unlock them via the seasonal pass, but we will see how that looks. I do feel 3 would have been a better starting number.
Gotta stoke the great NW Economy god.
