    Thanks for putting this out. As a returning healer I got excited when you mentioned the “new” single target key binds. The targeting was one of things I hated the most about the nuke heals in this game.

    Life Staff is really bad as a weapon early on, it is worth finding another weapon you feel comfortable with and using LS for heals in between. It never really does damage, so solo play really does need a weapon you can use an amber in.
    I have always run with Life Staff with a Diamond& Great Axe with an Amber. Great Axe helps me out when i am surrounded and can clear out mobs. Currently trying out the Void Gauntlet again to try and enhance my healing after the nerfs we got. I use Lights Embrace, Beacon & Sacred Ground, i find it works well for me and my game play style. I will be trying Great Sword when we get it in live. I have all con armour and con on my amulet and focus on ring & earring giving me 150 con and all other points into focus. with food, i can get to 307 focus ;)

    Some comments:
    Amazing guide :)
    Two things I want to point out are that the perk, "Protector's Strength" (if you have a buff heal for 20% more), even works with the food buff from Hearty Meals! It's a free +20% to your heals
    Second, the perk "Desperate Speed" (when you heal an ally below 50% health, LS ability cooldowns are reduced by 10%.) only has a 5 second cooldown. It's really strong and it gets your abilities up really quickly!

    nice indpeth vid, categorization, and very comprehesive explanation per step of information. Didntg skip any steps, reassuring players to have fun, there's no time limit to healing, and over all a great guide. 10/10

    Cheers!

    thanks for this video! at launch, one of the things that out me off was the healing staff controls (specifically the spell that was tiny and you had to use scroll wheel to change who it lands on).
    the thing is, I love being a healer, and I plan on giving NW another go, and might just give the Healing Staff another go too

    I wish their was a couple more support weapons or elements.
    Wands, charms, musical instruments(used for combat buffs), druid abilities,
    Just feel support the short end of types of weapons.

    Enjoyed the vid. Just came back. Started with GS and LS- but the lack of mobility with GS is beginning to show. At lv 13 with GS- going to finish leveling it.
    I am mostly PvE, a little PvP
    What would you recommend for next weapon?
    Thanks afain

    • @gingerlovesmmos
      @gingerlovesmmos  Рік тому

      Beyond Light staff, if you're looking for mobility, rapier offers a good pairing (even if you don't pvp) but my preference is for blunderbuss and hookshot.

    I would love to see a life staff/fire staff (PVE) build with both attributes and weapon stats. I like life staff and I tried void gautlet but I personally think Fire staff is more fun for me. I know its not the ideal build but I like it.

      War Hammer can easily work (people used it when mutations were first released) just Void Gauntlet does too much to not use it. Armor Breaker + Sundering Shockwave can easily hit the Rend cap on an enemy, and WH overall can easily peel for you. It's absolutely not bad.
      Problem is Oblivion (on VG) is just way too strong of an ability. Most people remember to Rend enemies, but a group-wide Empower is invaluable. Lastly, Melee DPS like hatchets are insanely strong, so having your healer use VG instead of a DPS allows your allies to do even more damage.

    Thanks a lot for the awesome content ! Help us a lot as beginners. I have a question for you or any viewers that can answer. What is the different between a normal and reinforced item ? I looked for the reinforced items in the tradepost and couldn't find any. Thanks in advance :)

    • @gingerlovesmmos
      @gingerlovesmmos  Рік тому

      Reinforced used to be a perk, but (I could be wrong here) that all changed to indestructible (where gear doesn't take damage) so now when I look at the markets, it's just a name, I'm not seeing any difference in the gear, or its durability.

    I don't think there's a "find the fun" when it comes to healing. People expect you to do a job perfectly, and the only way to lvl life staff is by intentionally switching weapons a lot while farming mobs. I really want to be a healer but there's no way to practice group healing before entering a crazy serious group dungeon run where you're expected to perfectly know what to do. As a new player it's way to intimidating.

    • @gingerlovesmmos

      Yeah that’s why I would not level the life staff, but with the new targeting options my next controller config addresses targeting in a major way

    Restarted the game 2 days ago… started with my old beloved bow/hatchet build… playing mostly solo or in a duo with a friend (snb/hammer - tank) thinking about switching to healer… maybe using hatchet (ember gem) and lifestaff on a focus build… I definitly need to be able to solo quests etc while my buddy is not on 😅 is that viable now? I remember the ember gem being bugged long ago

      returning player but totally missed this - but I had no idea that you can upgrade named gear which is under GS600 with umbral shards and it becomes legendary and adds third perk. Was farming lazarus all the time to get will of the ancients LF until decided to go with purple and upgrade it to 625, my surprise lol it became legendary. :/
