Guys... I took almost 1 year to do something meaningfull in revit.... I started self learning because I didnt had the money to invest on any accademy even to subscribe for Balkans paid contents.Till time this man had all the answers and solutions when Im really stuck. It doesn't mean I m expert and done, Im still learning.Since this February i m in revit based company and earning some money by doing modeling the concepts of many minds. I always recommend these tutorials to everyone. Dear Balkan there is a DM in your Insta. I was nothing.. you made me something.
I'm so glad to hear that my tutorials helped you! Good luck with your job and I hope you become a complete expert soon! Thank you for such a kind comment! 🙂
FATAL FLAW!!! This is all very nice in being able to create such detail, even when having to go through so many steps in this software. Problem I see is this gyp ceiling that goes through the entire grid layout has no accommodation for lay-in light fixtures. I can hardly think of any room that doesn't need to address lighting. Most conventional lighting for suspended ceilings use lay-in fixtures. How do you effectively address this with your ceiling grid approach, without making even more non-time efficient modeling?
I had bought the Revit Template + Family Pack, thinking the Family Pack would surely has the "Suspension Wire" at least and some exterior furnishing like Aluminiun Panel and Double Glaze Curtain Wall etc, but the Family Pack i got are just furnitures mostly (like you would get from SketchUp), trees, cars, cabinets, human, some sinks etc. Nothing useful in terms of designing buildings, like pre-built ceiling mullion, the suspension wire, interior and exterior wall finishes, roof etc. Even the advertised stairs, i dont see it. Pretty disappointed to be honest. but dont get me wrong, I am only dissapointed by that package (i thought it would contain all the components he has up to date (from all of his tutorial), for a higher one time payment). His videos tutorial on revit are still very good and clear, and very much appreciated.
If you include the panels in this curtain roof, then it would look odd. The panels become smaller then the mullions, like nothing is holding them in place.
It is a nice way to present a product, but there is more to a model than just presenting it - some would most likely want to extract information from the model, and it saying it was a roof and not a ceiling would annoy some quite a bit. :) - And I know it is allready annoying when architects use curtain walls to portray windows or doors instead of actual doors/windows.
I think it’s about picking the level of detail appropriate for the project. No point doing this if you’re designing the whole office building but if the job is replacing an existing ceiling with a new grid, fittings, margins etc etc then this level of detail I think would be appropriate.
@@NH00531 still no....unless you are the manufacturer, but even then, no because these are all premade sizes... So let's say you are renovating an office, why waste time on a section of this basic ceiling? If you wanted to see this in section, just use a detail component...
There's a couple of jobs I know that did this LOD but you're right it's pretty rare we'd go this far on a standard project. A technician would indeed get in trouble for this unless the project specifically demanded this. I've automated this based on surface patterns in the past for a client, and they were a supplier doing detailed takeoff (I showed them ways to automate the measurement without the modelling as well, but they were quite visual).
@@JavierOropeza08 Agree with you, even in CAD files we normally refer this to the specs and then ask the contractor to do a shop drawing only if its needed. I would insted invest this time in the placement and coordination of electrical trays, and HVAC to see if they do not mess up with our architectural design.
Hey Balkan Architect! Thank you very much for the tutorial. I downloaded your file from patreon and it works well. However I need to adjust it accordingly to the shape of my Building. Is there a way to do it? I would be super thankful for any help.
Hi Balkan, thank you for this tutorial, very helpful! Is there any way to automatically create hangers/connectors from the sloped glazing ceiling? I need connectors at every intersection and hangers every 900mm and my boss thinks this can be magically generated with the click of a button but I'm convinced your way is the only way!
Your videos are very interesting but there is a little bit of disorganization in your explanations and sometimes you include unnecessary steps like modifying previous works done by you which you could modify before making the video. This is a little bit confusing especially for beginners. Thanks for your comprehension.
Може да постигнеш същия ефект със инплейс фамилия и да я категоризираш правилно или дори също със обем и curtain wall , но пак ще е в грешна категория обекта . Но за големи проекти ще е доста трудно ... 😁
How can I contact you? I have purschased a course from your website and now it is not giving me access anymore. It says password or email incorrect while they are correct. Thanks a lot for the great tip of using roof as a substructure for suspended ceiling! This tool has superpower!
I would be so lost without your videos. Thank you Balkan :)
Very Nice and Detailed Design of Ceiling. I will make same Hopefully soon

The tutorials are brilliant and that's why I bought the family pack from the link you've included. But suspension rod is not included in it.
Splendid
It seems using curtain panel is better if you've already using the curtain wall family, btw nice tutorial!
If you include the panels in this curtain roof, then it would look odd. The panels become smaller then the mullions, like nothing is holding them in place.
@@balkanarchitect we can then create the panel family to extend its profile and set offset 😁

where can i get suspension wire?
Thank You, desde Colombia, gracias
Thank you for the interesting tutorial. But I wanna ask How to place the lighting ceiling if you roof by footprint to model for the ceiling. Thank you

do you have a way to create rods automatically in the nodes?
thanks
What about lights? Will this work for Face or Ceiling when placing lighting?

this may work by making your hangers a family. Then open up your curtain wall mullion family and use the hanger as a component to create an array.
Donde puedo conseguir una familia como la tuya para el "suspension wire"?
How to add light fixture
Hello, I have one question, is there some tool to draw on the real ceiling the model generated with this tool?
Looking for your scan to cad modeling in revit
How can i make it shaded like your
Which profile is good for creating suspended wires ?

We can make Ceiling panel through curtain wall panel
have you ever placed lighting fixtures in your models?
@@MiguelChalita yes once
If you have non-rectangular panels "which is not uncommon" it wont work unfortunately! poor approach :(
