This song is about drug and alcohol addiction written by then 13 year old Paulina. To a lot of us that fought those demons this song is very emotional thus a few of us grown ass men tear up. Love your reactions keep them coming!
I hear you brother, even after all this time listening to this song, I still get choked up and when Dany hits that high note at the closing chorus gives me chills to this day! One of my favorite The Warning songs......well, they all are, really...
So young and so empathic to be able to write about the problem of addictions from the point of view of the lost addict. These young women never stop surprising me. Thanks and regards!! 🇲🇽 🤘😁✌️
Song writing ability far beyond their years, it is mind blowing to me that Pau could write a song this impactful this early in her career. The future is so bright for The Warning!
Pau’s power of observation as a little girl to tap into the despair of the throes of addiction is remarkable. Black Holes routinely brings grown men to tears.
Especially when a person like my was an addict and alcohol from my teen years until I was 33 and should be dead by all rights but somehow ,some way pulled through. Or should I say, God pulled me through. I'm 53 now with a beautiful wife and kids and live a very productive life but that person I was will always be a part of me and still haunts me. Yeah , this song really hits home like you said.
Pau was smiling in the early lyrics because the crowd was singing along. It's got to be so amazing for a songwriter to have her music being sung by the crowd.
Not a break up song at all. Depression addiction so many demons that brought a person to believe that not even a black hole would take him/her. Amazing a young artist could write this song.
For me, the greatest thing about The Warning is the diversity of their music. On one hand, they write hard edged material that is loved, appreciated, and respected by some of the hardest rockers. On the other, they write ballads that not only can bring about tears, but can also just flat out break your heart 🤘⚡
I've been a Warning fan for 3 years now and I'm loving these older offerings you're bringing into the light. I've heard them all in the past but these reactions have brought a totally different perspective to them.
They performed this in Mexico twice, with a small string ensemble but otherwise just Pau on keys. So far only fan vids, but what a performance. At CDMX, Pau tacked on Breathe, to everyone's shock as she had intended to never play it live as it is very personal to her, and she actually broke down at the end (the crowd erupted into chants of "Paulina!", and Pau, completely flustered at this point, bowed to the audience and hurried offstage). The strings then played a short interlude with a mid-Classical feel, and a very short cadenza was followed by the lead-in to Enter Sandman, which the strings also played. They have also played this at informal acoustic concerts.
Dany's electric 12 string vibe, "soundscape" and "subtle", perfect description with her transition into distortion at 11:45 hardly noticeable. Their whole performance here is masterful.
Nice reaction! Subbed! Dang, at the ending, when Dany and Ale sing, every single time someone starts cutting an onion… 🥹😉 This Dakota Bar show is the reference when it comes to their 1st album! Thanks, greetings from Germany 👍⚡️🤘
Like a smoke charmer song, cigarette smoke flys right into my eyes everytime it's on. it burns Please no The Warning break, you still have so much to do.
Pau is amazing never really bought the whole old soul talk but when a 13 yr old writes a song such as Black Holes from Paulina there is something different going on for sure. This pauer ballad has to do with addiction and Pau's amazing raspiness adds even more to it IMO!
Yeah , as a person who suffed through addiction for 25 years of my life this song really punches me in my gut. God was my savior but the pain and guilt never really go away.
Beautiful song Pau always tugs the heart strings with her vocals the meaning is profound and deep for we who have battled addiction. 🖤The harmonies are always stunning and thank you for doing this. 🤘⚡🔥
I'll let you know, this is the song in the series I've been waiting for. This is the most amazingly heartfelt ballad ever written by a 13 year old. No question. I LOVE THIS BAND !! ✌️💖🎼
Pau’s voice has a natural rasp. I think she has to work to get a cleaner sound. This song is about addiction. It’s amazing the subjects that Pau wrote about at such a young age. I don’t think you’ve got to ‘Copper Bullets’ yet with the cheery subject of domestic violence and murder / suicide.
To anyone who has had to surrender to this demon, this masterpiece of a song will grab the soul and shake it! To hear it come from young Paulina does not help! 29 years clean and sober this past December, and I can tell you that I'm grateful to be around to hear my now favorite Rock Band play this, even though it can take me back to some very dark times, it's temporary! The joy I get back in return, from DPA, is without question, well worth it! It's not likely that I will ever hear this at a live show now, probably for the better. I'm in till the end! Long Live DPA, The Warning! 🤘⚡🫶
- los grandes temas de Pau al piano:BLACK HOLES , Que voz de Pau triste y melancólica ,un tema de adiciones profundo y oscuro ,te pega en el sentimiento,Pau es brillante
Don't ever be sorry for featuring The Warning on your channel...love your reviews and comments, Love this song from Pau. More Warning the better!! ⚡⚡⚡⚡
This song is about one thing: Pau's lyrics. Impossible for someone of that age to write, but there it is. You also stepped on Pau's opening lines, which set up the entire rest of the song. On par with "Hello darkness my old friend", and "There are places I remember".
13:20 unfortunately the playlist you're working with is not in setlist order because the user who created it was mistakenly using the setlist from September 2018 instead of the January performance the videos are from. In the true setlist, Black Holes was followed by Our Mistakes / Wildfire, which you've already watched. But the good news is after that the remaining videos in the playlist are in the correct order (When I'm Alone - Runaway - Copper Bullets - Survive - Dull Knives).
They need to react to "show me the light" from the Dakota concert. There is a video of a fan that posted all the songs from the Dakota to complete the concert it turned out excellent.
*Set List Order:* 01. Show Me the Light 02. Unmendable 03. Exterminated 04. XXI Century Blood 05. Shattered Heart 06. River's Soul 07. Take Me Down 08. Black Holes (Don't Hold On) 09. Our Mistakes / Wildfire 10. When I'm Alone 11. Runaway 12. Copper Bullets 13. Survive 14. [Encore]: Dull Knives (Cut Better) - (Live debut)
Cool reaction. You're kinda right about it being a break-up song, only the singer's breaking up with drugs (or booze) and failing to do so. It's really great getting a reaction from musicians who can pick up on the more subtle elements of the song. I think this song sounds great, you guys help me understand whay it sounds great.
I like your videos and your comments. But this is one of the songs where it's better to listen to it first without any sub-recommendations. Then you can listen to it again and make your explanations and comments. Such songs also live from the mood and you only really get that if you listen to it as a whole.
Pau's hoarse tone is actually her natural speaking tone a lot of the time, which makes you wonder, how does she just suddenly sound 'clean' in so many of her performances. Even here, 80% of the song is clean voice, while the section you pointed out sounds very much like her speaking voice, singing. In their recent video 'S!ck' Pau's eyes change to purple when they say 'human'. Alien Pau confirmed. You heard it here first!
👎👎 thumbs down on this one guys, sorry. Pau is pouring her heart out in this emotional song, and all you guys can talk about is guitar stuff. Just let the damn song play and hear it out

Omg.....this song always gets me 😢. Just amazing ❤
One of my favorite songs. Pau is just 🔥
Excellent my friends!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks, Chris and Sam. Nice reaction.
Pau has a natural fry quality to her voice that is expressed more strongly at different times. It definitely adds an emotional punch.

Pau heard the audience singing along with her... that's why she smiled at that one point in the beginning...

Here I go crying again.
Great song made even more impressive by the fact Pau wrote this at the tender age of 13.

This song hits the heart.
The Warning means more than a band name. These girls have more to say than just a song. They are too special.

The crowd is singing early in that's the smile

It's a song that touches the very soul of people who have been near someone with an addiction
After nearly 50 original songs in their repertoire it's still one of my favorites. A tears chaser ...... also for me, addicted only to The Warning
Check out "show me the light" from this concert it is another gem.
It's included in the 50

The thrill of hearing your lyrics sung back to you.
😊😊
I think some of the audience were singing along
They have been creating fascinating soundscapes from early on
I'll let you know, this is the song in the series I've been waiting for. This is the most amazingly heartfelt ballad ever written by a 13 year old. No question.
I LOVE THIS BAND !!

I agree I think the rasp is more natural for her than the clean sound. She's amazing.
♥♥♥
Best version IMO. When Dany and Ale join Pau on vocals at the end ... 🥺🥺🥺
I love this performance. They have always inspired and impressed me. ♥️😎✌🏻
My favorite version of this song. Brilliant!
It’s about (drug) addiction.

There is a version from their UK Private show from a month or so ago that shows how much Pau has progressed as a vocalist.
