Mail carrier from MN. People don't understand that 8hrs often isn't enough to get all the mail out with sick calls/vacation days. And slim few do overtime lists which would bump them up to 10-12hr days along with the newbie carriers (if any in the office) being bumped to 12hr days, and often 6-7 day weeks. And the longevity of those hours wares on a person in all the elements, heat in the summer cold in the winter. Then the mail/packages get rolled into the next day with double mail/packages on many routes and so forth. It becomes like a tidal wave of work. Wage increases NEED TO rise to get more people in the door who want to start careers with the post office. When the old timers started, post office offered $10+ than most places in most towns, now it's roughly $18-$19/hr which is comparable to most places now days.
Why you don’t say we work when Covid and now one work in this time only us and we but us and our family in dangerous and some people sit in there home and get paid more than us Why you don’t say our union is corporate
They provide a service yes but so does the military and they get wage increases colas hazard pay etc. Wages need to match current inflation to provide better service.
@@christiancunningham8899 right I agree with you, but part of the reason carriers aren’t getting a raise is cause usps says they aren’t making enough profits
Good glad to hear it that you guys are finally doing something about it 👍👏😊
Thank you for doing that. I am a mail carrier and tired of waiting for a contract. They need to pay up!!!
Keep it going 👍😊
Sucks that they tell us we can’t strike. I would if I could!!!
