Dang, how cool is GSP to be that accomplished and so humble. Also, how good is Gordon, geez. Lastly, how good is John D.'s teaching, wow. So much talent in this video....
Quick story. I've met him in my jiu-jitsu Gym in Toronto back in 2018. I came 3 hours early before class and there he was kicking the heavy bag. I couldn't believe my eyes. He stopped looked in my direction as I opened the door so I waved & he waved back. I went to the locker room to change to put on my GI as quickly as I could. I went back there towards him and asked if we could take a picture together. He was like "of course, even more than 1 if you want". we talked for about 10 minutes about everything & if he was going to fight Khabib. He's exactly like you see him on TV, Humble and one of the nicest person I've ever met.
It's nice to see a true champion like Gordon give these types of opportunities to others in the sport. This is so great for Jacob. Thanks to Gordon and to the hope others will follow in Gordon's footsteps and take matches like this, to help grow grappling as a whole.
Very well made video, my attention was kept all the time, loved the opening scene with The gordon mimmicking gsps accent, the music, the tecnnique clips all very well balanced and captivating.
You wish ? Had one of my friend, years ago (God blesses his soul), visited the Tristar of Firaz and GSP, he had to visit another grappling club as Montreal Tristar fees are way too expensive, he just couldnt afford it.
Title should def say GSP rolls w Gordan Ryan. Lex Friedman’s podcast with Gordon, George and Jon was tremendous! Three of the biggest and will be known as transendors of the sport absolute legends in each of their own rights. Amazing! Edit: “Transendors” apparently isn’t a word but should and soon will be…
Gotta remember its a considerable size difference and the highlights in favor of ryan here, not to mention GSP is helping the dude train and get ready to compete. Its expected
Hasn't gsp n gordon been training together a long time? GSP has had a John in his corner in a lot of his fights. I'm talking when John still had hair LOL
@@urbansamurai261 they have an extensive training history. John talks about it in the jre qnd lex fridman podcast that gsp would come to renzo nyc (before he was ufc champ) every weekend to train bjj.
That's a weird thing to say. That's like saying you wish you could see Freddie Roach vs a Cus Damato. I don't know why Danaher never competed but even if he did, his knowledge now is infinitely better than his knowledge then.
@@jacobharris954 yes. But who cares? Their greatness has nothing to do with that. Same with Bravo and especially Danaher. Bravo actually competed at a high level for roughly 11 seconds but no one would remmeber that without his connection to joe rogan.
I am learning that a lot of jiu jitsu relies on misdirection and trickery of your opponent, which all martial arts do. HOWEVER, BJJ achieves this more effeciently and predictably by exploiting opponents' natural relexes in a much more practical way. It's brilliant.
It's a chess match and the more you learn your opponents way of thinking the more you can trick them. It's real fun when you get to learn what the guys you roll with consistently like to go for and bait them with it.

Ahhh stomach/gastrointestinal problems very common among steroid users in combat sports. Saw it all over European tournaments in the wrestling circuit. Not surprised it is in submission grappling.
What he has talked about is consistent with a gastrointestinal fungal infection. I know a guy who actually contracted it from being exposed to spores at a race track in the California desert of all things. Plus all the antibiotics Gordon took to combat multiple staph infections would only exacerbate that problem. Not saying homeboy isn’t on that açaí and Jesus, but his stomach issue seem to be something else entirely.
