It is pretty much an OP build. MW are pretty underrated right now. I can carry queen on heroic with my 614 mw with this RMB build. I beat resto shaman/holy priest with 625++ item level. They are sleeping on MW right now.
Both builds can be competitive HPS. I like the RWK build but i wont be surprised if it gets nerfed. im just an OK MW in raid, but the RWK build skyrocketed my HPS to above much better healers.
Exactly! Everything will scale even better with S2/S3 amounts of secondary stats - more Renewing Mists, double procs on Mana Tea, CDR from Uplifted Spirits - I think they'll have to rein in the RM build sooner or later.
I like the more relaxed build, that's kind of the vibe I get from Mistweaver and that's how I would like to play it. I saw your other video that explained your different builds as a chillweaver. Any chance you'll do an in depth guide for a raid build? or maybe footage of you raiding with the thought process. ANyways thanks for the content.
Same! I think a ranged RM build could be fun with high crit for more mana tea, since the way I'd play it would be extremely spendy, but for now it's just a side project. I don't know if I'm planning to do an in-depth raid build guide but I've thought about doing an individual fight with commentary in the background, maybe another video going over safe places to hit CDs on each fight. I just need to pick some good footage. :D
@@lunolarks9792 Did the queen on hc on my last video, if you have any tips for me, I appreciate that, other than that, great channel you have! Keep it up!
@@gaming-pot Nice heals! Grats on AOTC. I personally like to greed a lot in P1 by using healing CDs as early and as often as possible even if they're not 100% needed, which goes through a LOT of mana but I can get it back during P2 if I'm careful. I haven't tried a RM build on H Queen yet but if you're trying to parse or beat other healers to the healing, that's the only tip I can think of! :D
I'm talking about it in relation to casting/ranged MW, since before RWK the only way to activate Rising Mist was to stay close and RSK, and some MWs prefer to play ranged. :D
Since the release of Rushing Wind Kick the SooM build has become even less relevant. You contirbute 0 dmg, do less HPS than Rising Mists and now with RWK, you its an even better button to press. I just dont understand how people recommend casted builds when the spec is mathematically worse with it, harded to pull off (any sort of movement and your HPS sinks....). Just bad advice. Go play Rising Mists or play a caster healer than isn't a monk... The content discussed is Heroic raid... where you could meme anything and still do the bosses. If you're doing mythic, don't troll your team by playing the casting build...
It wouldn't surprise me if RWK completely overtakes SooM, but right now they're both doing great! Not everyone's in a guild that requires their players to play mathematically superior classes/specs - that's a level of sweaty I can understand if you're pushing for Cutting Edge/Hall of Fame or something, but besides that... not so much, but I get that every raid team is different. I think most people looking into casting MW are a bit more casual or just looking for something different. Most of mythic raid falls over as long as people do their main roles without failing mechanics/dying all over the place, especially with more gear/raid nerfs. Prog is just lots of wiping 'til you get it, and unless we're wiping at 5% and a single healer's DPS would've made it a kill, there are plenty of better ways to optimize before asking healers to compensate for dead/low DPS. I don't find casting MW hard to pull off at all. I actually like it because it feels like it takes less skill. And with 3 rolls + LTA, high-movement fights like Rasha'nan feel SO smooth even for caster MW, so I'm not sure I see HPS "sinking" on fights like that. Anyways, MW has a crazy amount of viable talent combinations even though some are mathematically a bit better/worse than others - sorry you disagree, but you do you! :D
@@lunolarks9792 Its not just mathematics, Rising Mists is just "easier" to play and has far higher success rate. With this raid and all the movement required you're just making it difficult for yourself playing a sub-optimal build, sub-optimally as the ranged build is very turret based. People also forget that no matter what build you choose the game is going to treat you like a "Melee" regardless. You're just griefing your team by standing in the range stack with melee mechanics. Why not teach the most efficient way of playing it? You've become too comfortable playing a build that shouldn't be recommended. If you ask about ranged Mistweaver in Peak of Serenity (MW Discord, always worth a glance with related questions) you will get shot down as there are simply no benefits to playing the build. Far less mana efficient, less HPS when played perfectly let alone sub-optimally, you give ranged the melee mechanics by standing there and you contribute 0 dmg... 🤷♂ I honestly just dont get it. @@CrippsyS nobody advertises it as optimal, in fact most sources say castweaving is shit or don't mention it at all yet it clears content as all specs do. using only the best is for world first players because they need the 1% damage increase and can pilot anything. you can put the best build on a player but if they can't pilot it they're going to suck ass. if they don't enjoy it, they're going to suck even more. if optimal play is so important, why not play resto shaman or whatever the top spec of the month is? you're playing mistweaver because you like mistweaver! it's as simple as someone liking the color pink instead of purple, you dislike castweaving and that's okay sorry if this comes off as argumentative/aggressive, i don't intend to sound that way. it's just sad to see people shit on castweaver when i wouldn't even give mw a chance if castweaving didn't exist as i don't think fistweaving is for me. the "only use optimal specs, you're trolling if you're not" mindset has to stop when anything can clear content
@@CrippsyS The RM build is definitely easy and capable of higher HPS, but from what I've seen of other healers who play it, it's easy to spread its healing a bit thin and only partially cover a damage event, but I'm sure that's more to do with sub-optimal play. I'd argue the ToM build is a little better-suited for exerting control/pivoting to aggressive spot healing, but that's just the way I frame it. I can't think of a recent mechanic that "griefs" ranged if a melee's standing with them - I'm sure some exist, but they haven't been impactful enough to be an issue. You do answer your own question in a way - I've become comfortable playing the build whether it's superior or not, and if this build can grab 99 or 100 healing parses, its more than efficient enough. Also, Peak of Serenity is cool, but the players who discuss in it can be very narrow-minded/gatekeep-y about alternative builds - just what I've noticed over the years. At the end of the day, for an average mythic raid team running 4 healers, I'd rather have a guy playing a sub-optimal build at 90% of its potential than someone playing the superior build at 50% (or dying trying to play it optimally). I never advertise ToM as optimal, and the greatest con is that people misunderstand it, but it can do more than enough for most mythic raids and be quite efficient if you know what you're doing. :D
