Unfortunately, Blibli is stuck in a corner with the DH "style-wise" : The dark energy they used are either fell green or purple void, fast attacker so not much pieces of clothes, the Legion is gone and they are stuck in the past, both elves already have their heritage armor... The only way I could see it change is if they became relevant again with some kind of reformation in a proper order OR if blibli add a new specialisation for them that shake their style... maybe like a Warden from the N-E society.
I genuinely like your Judgement better than the Remake. But I also think you likely used more polygons and used a richer gold coloration, where they tried to keep it closer to the original yellow. I like the rich gold farrr more. Sanctum of Domination Gold needs more pieces that match that color palate. Overall though, still S tier. I just think your version is S+ 👍
Fair. I also think his judgement benefitted from only being rigged to human males, so he could really go to town with the extra bits and bobs. Well given their somewhat revised roll in the legion class hall It sort of makes sense. These are the honor guard of the silver hand in a sense. The silver and blue color being the basic and the gold being the elite.
I think it's fine for keeping the Classic aesthetic. A lot of the sets back then were really bright and stick out. If they made it too dark or gritty, kind of defeats that intention. I think it's fine but that's not to say I don't like tomkek's
Another thing I think lends to the idea that Tomkek's is more of an, in the field crusader, is that, it's overall shape to me, seems much bulkier. While it's not my favorite of the bunch, I do have to give them props for the Evoker set's idea. Most tier 2 sets (Hunter being the only exception) were effectively meant to fit the theme of the class, rather than the raid. Evoker, however, fits 3 ideas. It's super neat to me that they decided to base it on the armor of the final boss.
@@fosterbennington6405 Absolutely agree lol. I love playing Evoker and I think Dracthyr are pretty cool, but it's an immense disappointment that they cannot enjoy transmog. In my opinion, if they can make it work on something as different as a Tauren, then Dracthyr should be no major issue.

For the shaman set i would probably open the mouth on the shoulder wolves and show off their fangs. I would add a little electric glow on the headpiece as well. I would also make the pouch and chains 3D. Then i would add some 3D metal piece on the feets. The crystals at the bottom of the robe should also be 3D and should have a dim glow effect, the glow effect applies to the crystals on the gloves too.
I would have darkened the blues just a bit, and made the metals a touch more shiny so theres a bit more contrast. So much wow art these days just has a washed out feel to me. I don't like it.
Remember, Gen Z gamers unlike Millennial gamers are unable to experience positive emotions, they can only live through being outraged at others. Therefore these criticisms should be taken with a truck load of salt. *The only possible reason to shit at this Judgement T2 remake is that yours was arguably even better... If they released this without having seen yours, everyone would have loved it.* I think the fact that Blizzard even bothered to revisit and update a 20 year old set is a win for everyone.
Not trying to defend Blizzard but Artists like him got more resources than Blizzard artists, they can't just make a set like Tomkek on a regular day and also wow's engine blocks some possibilities.
It's generally a pretty distasteful stance for any artist to say their work is better than someone else's - at least publically. Some people take that pretty seriously in the art world. But yeah I think I agree, Tomkek's is baller lmao
Blizz cooked with Wrath, Transcendence, and (of course) Judgement. These sets where the sole reasons I dusted off my Warrior, Priest, and Pallies, respectively. I have a pocket Druid parked on an old guild, and I'm debating farming the last handful of tokens for Stormrage. I was... disappointed with Dragonstalker because the FEET ARE TOO DAMN BIG, especially on skinny Belf legs!
I'm willing to be that Blizzard 100% took inspiration from your work. Whether they'll admit it or not, I'm betting they had a sit down meeting when they were first discussing remaking these and I wouldn't be surprised if your name came up as homework to study your Judgement video as references and inspiration for making the new sets.
Your Judgement model completely shits on the Blizzard one, it's not even close. They made it childish, colors are way to bright, it lacks detail, and what they did to the helmet is unforgivable. I knew it was never going to be as good, but man, it's sad to see what they dumped out.
I think both are S tier sets tbh but hands down Monk got the biggest W in this one. I cant see myself using any other monk mog now that i bought it cause its just the best they have gotten since they released xD
the Rogue Set is literally showing light refacting off of it, like Black Leather Pants would irl. idk why everybody just says Gray when you can see Black where it doesnt refract.
The first thing I thought about when I heard they were remaking Tier2 was your Judgement remake video. And after getting it in-game, I have to say its nice but I was disappointed. Your version is way freaking better!
Long time Holy Priest player here: OG Transcendence was supposed to be based on the coloured glass windows in cathedrals. It’s been given a more Naaru, space/light vibe which is pretty cool. If you wanna see it in full glory - I play a Tauren. The helm moves forwards and slants back to look like a mask of covering. It’s awesome.
I don't know about paying him for it. But i do feel like they should reach out to him and hire him to do some work for them every now and then and give him a shout out for the things he does. If i was Blizzard i would hire him to do some cosmetic pieces to highlight in that traders outpost.
I appreciate how humble you are about the art and how you respect the blizzard artists. HOWEVER, in my opinion your Judgement set was a tier above the blizzards updated version. I know there are probably layers of compilations when taking art from a 3D modeler into the actual game that blizzard has to tackle, but your video and redesign was amazing.
I believe World of Warcraft artist team had an inspiration from your creation and gave it their own touch. It's quite great to see that art team is checking out the works of WoW fans and such.
Absolutely think more content like this would be awesome to see! At the very least, I think your remaster sparked more of an interest in seeing tier 2 redone and Blizz responded in kind. Personally I still have a bias to your redesign, but the Blizz artists did really well too. The reviews were very fair and the commentary was really entertaining to listen to I lost it at all the evoker shade, near-naked dracthyr haunt my dreams Definitely looking forward to what's next for the channel!
Pally, Warlock, DK and Druid are all S tier for me. They're SO good. Rogue comes in at A tier, and then everything else is B or worse, with DH coming in a far, far last place.
the problem with the chains on the shaman set is that he is basically wearing an old school skirt/robe and thus it will stretch weirdly around the legs which would be hard to make 3d chains to not clip through it while walking.
talking about the warlock set like its almost perfect, brings back memories and nostalgia. and then you put it at A. KEKW, i honestly thought you would put it in S because of how fondly you spoke about the tier set.
You could for sure mine out a lot of content with in depth to semi-in depth analysis of each new tier’s worth of designs as well as old designs. Would 100% watch.
Honestly I would totally be down to do like a tier 1 tier list and maybe go up lol. Classic wow weapons would be fun too. People seem to like the format a lot more than I expected and it's easy to do so why not. I would love to fill up my upload schedule more too and this is a great way
How the hell did you pick the order? It's not alphabetical based on class, it's not alphabetical based on set name, it's not as following the WowHead list, it's not following the initial layout of the tierlist, nor the final result in any way... How the hell did you come up with "Yeah let's start with mage then move onto warrior, then evoker, then druid! That makes sense!"
I think this whole thing perfectly encapsulates the idea that just because you're talented doesn't mean you're exactly in tune with the artistic flow of something. Tomkek's rendition is by no means bad but compared to the Blizz remake it's clear that his revision lacks the Classic feel and aesthetic that made the original loved so much. The current If-It-Aint-Broke-Dont-Fix-It approach with a slight touch up was the perfect answer to all the T2 sets.
Surprised to see the Priest set so low - it's the only set that I think the artists turned from a set I wasn't fond of into one that I thought looked fantastic.
I couldn't agree more with this Tier list. And I recreated a DK just for this set (I used to play DK during Lich King only). Incredible details, incredible vibe. In fact, I feel that Blizzard did incredible set for the classes who were not here 20 years ago (DK, Monk). And i think it is for a reason.
I guess I'm in the minority that absolutely loves the dragonstalker set and the remake set lol, I do desperately hope they release a red recolor of the dragonstalker set in the trading post or something. The red sod dragonstalker set just looks so good and I think the remake version in that coloration would be one of the best looking hunter sets ever.
Regarding the chains on Ten Storms, I don’t think rigging was a concern. I was *very* disappointed in-game to find out half the sets have clipping issues on most races. Even human, which is used to model them, has clipping. Mage set your hands are halfway inside your robe, Priest as well. It was a let down. Also, Ten Storms looks too cartoonish. It’s soft and weirdly plastic looking? It looks like what I imagine a Ten Storms Shaman Funko Pop would look like. Unrelated.. your eyes are damn gorgeous.
Lets all just simply canonize that Tomkek's model remasters were the inspiration for Blizzard to HD Tier2. Now that is all settled, imo Wrath should be S teir, yea i might be a little sloghtly lot biased since i played warrior since Vanilla through TBC and usually donned Battlegear of Wrath or Dreadnaught T3. The HD Wrath one can see it extra agressive look is taken from Heroes if the Storm Wrath rendition. Overall great vid and heres to more HD remasters from Blizzard and Tomkek as well
I think the Demon Hunter set really missed out on the opportunity to go with a "classic" Demon hunter look. Remember the physical copy of WoW with the night elf holding a glaive? Where it's the kilt, the blindfold, some body markings, and less green and more of a dark feather outfit. Something that isn't so jagged and torn, but rather more draconic.
Murpharooni here! Dragonstalker was the reason I continued to play WoW after I started it. It was my goal, to get the whole set. The bracers was the last piece I got and I got it 1 month before TBC. Man loved the set and still do... however, I have mixed feelings about this one. The boots and belt feels so, sloppy, like they lacked the time to finish it. I'll forgive them if they give us the recolor version fot them, like the red one we got for tbc but got reverted to something else later on! Or a full black one!
I definitely agree that recolors would go a long way for it! I think a lot of people like the idea fo dragonstalker but just don't like the crazy color scheme. I don't mind it personally but it is a bit out there xD I imagine we will see recolors at some point though. It's way too much work that went into this not to repurpose Thanks for the classic wow story though. I always feel so nostalgic hearing those :D
Weird thing about the Transcendence set, the helm actually sits differently if you're on a Worgen or a Tauren than it does if you're on pretty much any other race. Instead of sitting behind the head it goes over the front like a sort of hood or cowl or something.
We’re getting a bit too used to these little sun dresses they keep giving us. Give it a couple of slits at the front so the legs show, armor would look so much more badass when you’re able to see the leg armor.
I think Hunter would look a lot better if the colors weren’t so cartoony… I’d like to see it in a black and red or even in the TBC dungeon recolor. The modeling is great, it’s just the OG colorstyle that makes it a bit goofy looking. I really hope that Blizz puts out recolors of all of these sets at some point bc that would be awesome. Finally, Warrior’s T2 Wrath remake is ABSOLUTELY S-tier. Just saying.
The new Judgement helmet is shit, the upturned eye corners is horrid. The boots are shit, at least they don't have claws like Hunter set but the HUGE central ridge is ass.
Brother we are lucky that we got a remastered Judgement set, It's not anything regular so what good can come from your complain? If you don't like it don't use it.
I'm gonna be honest with you. The new one they did is pretty good, but yours is actually leagues better. The weird penguin flaps on the sides of the skirt on the official one are meh.
Tomkek you have one of the most important youtube channels about wow modeling, from an artist's perspective (i just started to make 3d objects) the main reason i believe they don't get your sets in the game isn't that they look bad or noobish, i believe that your colors and detail match to another game , like assassin's creed, i also paint but seems i have the same ''problem'', my art doesn't fit in blizzards taste, they need more cartoonish and colorful
The comparison set you used for DH is from night hold. The lookalike you're thinking is mix and match of legion dungeon gear and tomb of sargeras set. Judgement remake was so close but the eye slits just make it cartoony as you said. The original has almost no emotion attached to it which makes it look indifferent, almost robot like. It's kinda like "less is more" element of the set when everything else is already so busy.
for me C: Shaman Hunter Rogue Evoker B: Mage Priest A: Druid Warrior Monk S: Paladin Warlock and Death Knight AND for me DH is not as bad as F but its for sure D maybe E PS. Demo Warlock is REALY fun to play this Xpack so that AND the fact its t2 set is SOOOOOO nice has made me start rethinking my main(Paladin)
Let’s be honnest everyone who saw your judgement remake wished it was gonna be yours in the game. I personally would pay for it in the shop if it was yours!
11:16 oh my god, ive seen that model on sketchfab its gorgeous, i love that its abit more stocky, almost 40k-ish imo that model > your remake > blizzards remake (which im still more than happy with, just saying) also IMO the hunter set (both original and remake) deserve to go into their own tier below F tier like honestly this is where the "hunter sets suck 99% of the time" trend started, tier 1 is questionable but tier 2 is awful
As a mage main, I HATE it. I've never liked the colour purple in any case but it reminds me what a kindergarten-age child would make with paper cardboard. I mean, great for a kid to have imagination and work to something they have fun with. But we're adults and that particular aesthetic they gave us for T2 mage is simply undignified.
Love the extra content and hope to see more of it in the future! Here is my hot take for the T2 stuff: I don't like plate and mail sets being skirts/dresses, so Judgement and Ten Storms is very low on my list of priorities. Even the DK one is teetering on being too skirt-y for me. I know the Judgement and Ten Storms have pants variants, but let's be honest: it looses its appeal if you use pants. I mained a blood elf paladin most of my WoW days, and seeing the BE heritage armor I was hoping we would get some chonky pants and boots so we can not run the dress version...but alas it was not meant to be.
DH simply suffers from not having much variety in it's thematic aesthetic. Take away their fel green bits and they just look like rogues. They're not really the type to heavily model their armor after the things they're trying to exterminate, so no variety of inspiration there. They're rarely in anything bright and colorful. And they wear barely more armor than barbarians much of the time.

You could take a picture of the DH gear and go back in time to 2017 to show players. They would say thats just random legion gear.
The evoker disrespect! D= How absolutely dare you, sir! XD
"I'm not as good as a Blizzard artist" - makes a better Paladin set than a Blizzard artist
kek, I get the diplomatic talk tho
I was... disappointed with Dragonstalker because the FEET ARE TOO DAMN BIG, especially on skinny Belf legs!
i hope blizzard comments on this video and says "yeah you pretty much inspired us" xD that would be nice
This DH set truly represents the care, love and amount of ideas/ inspiration blizzard has for us. Sad as everytime.
Monk>DK. The monk set is INCREDIBLE, and the other coloration of it that Blizz showed looked even cooler than the green set.
I think both are S tier sets tbh but hands down Monk got the biggest W in this one. I cant see myself using any other monk mog now that i bought it cause its just the best they have gotten since they released xD
When I saw blizzard did that, first thing i thought of was you! I was like, "I wonder how Tomkek feels about these." Judgement armor looks sooo good!
DH Set F Tier.... THANK YOU! I couldnt agree more, they phoned our set in man, its such BS
T1 felheart and T5 corrupt raiment were the best warlock set for looks. T4 and T6 were good but the colors didn't feel like a warlock.
Tier 10 was one of my favourites, especially the 25normal one.
the Rogue Set is literally showing light refacting off of it, like Black Leather Pants would irl. idk why everybody just says Gray when you can see Black where it doesnt refract.
The first thing I thought about when I heard they were remaking Tier2 was your Judgement remake video. And after getting it in-game, I have to say its nice but I was disappointed. Your version is way freaking better!
Call me a simp, but what I find really visually appealing is Tom's face, especially his eyes 😍😍😍
It’s awesome.
nice to see you again, tom! great video, love the easy "popcorn" format. your insight into design is always great. 💜
salamander pic ftw LOL // Came here for the Judgment set, but the monk set I swear, almost made me reroll. That's how good it is.
I think your re release of Judgement set caused this and they should be paying you for the idea.
by that same logic wouldnt he have to pay all the revenue for the remake video to blizzard/the original artist?
I really wish we had your version of judgment, looking at it hypes me up, it's incredibly menacing. It's like a medieval space marine.
Absolutely think more content like this would be awesome to see!
At the very least, I think your remaster sparked more of an interest in seeing tier 2 redone and Blizz responded in kind. Personally I still have a bias to your redesign, but the Blizz artists did really well too. The reviews were very fair and the commentary was really entertaining to listen to
I lost it at all the evoker shade, near-naked dracthyr haunt my dreams
Definitely looking forward to what's next for the channel!
Pally, Warlock, DK and Druid are all S tier for me. They're SO good.
Rogue comes in at A tier, and then everything else is B or worse, with DH coming in a far, far last place.
can you maybe making the Tier 2 rouge?
Yea please proper remake with darker colors
Aaaaawwwperator! Won’t you put me on through?! Gonna send all my love down to BATON ROGUE!!! 😂
S - Paladin Monk Druid
A - Warrior Dk
B - Priest
C - Warlock Hunter Evoker
D - Shaman Mage
E - Nothing
F - Rogue Dh (but both a big fat F)
Enjoyed the video and your reactions! It gave me a good chuckle! Can’t wait to get the Pally and Warrior set for my characters!
the problem with the chains on the shaman set is that he is basically wearing an old school skirt/robe and thus it will stretch weirdly around the legs which would be hard to make 3d chains to not clip through it while walking.
Boy did Christmas come early this year! I was so hoping you would do a review of Blizzards updated Judgement! :D
talking about the warlock set like its almost perfect, brings back memories and nostalgia. and then you put it at A. KEKW, i honestly thought you would put it in S because of how fondly you spoke about the tier set.
I like your paladin better, the eyes on yours fit better I think
"that's starting gear"
pulls up the mythic set from the first Legion raid
I appreciate this video. Especially when you pointed out nearly the same things I initially did. You've got a good eye for these things!
I would love to fill up my upload schedule more too and this is a great way
@@Tomkektv Everyone loves tier lists ;)
After all those comments you made, did you really put that Rogue set alongside with the Monk one 😢
"the dad volunteered to be the dragon in the kid's school play" got me, lol.
They making the judgement set looking like yours is a really cool thing to me, your remake was awesome and the blizz one is great as well
Surprised to see the Priest set so low - it's the only set that I think the artists turned from a set I wasn't fond of into one that I thought looked fantastic.
You're very modest. You could indeed do as well as the developers. Keep up the great content my man.
Overall great vid and heres to more HD remasters from Blizzard and Tomkek as well
I agree with the death knight S tier, I may be 100% biased, but it's awesome :)
It's way too much work that went into this not to repurpose
Thanks for the classic wow story though. I always feel so nostalgic hearing those :D
"Incredible, I love it. Blizzard blew it out of the water. Astounding! D tier." 😂
The monk artist was cooking.
Hot Take: Dragonstalker armor looks great, if you just use a different helmet or no helmet.
Also I love your Judgement set much better, it’s so much more beefier 💪
Putting Druid set in S Tier and Warlock in A Tier is crazy work :D
"This set is missing a lot, A tier. Now this set is well done. C tier"
Awesome video Tom. Great review!
Maybe you can try some reworks for the new classes that didnt have a previous set in Vanilla Wow
I didn't know Vincent van Gogh was a priest. 😁👂
we need to make a petition to blizzard to reveal the artist of paladin t2, then we can give him all of our money and make him head of our sect
Your paladin tier set looks so much better. Can't Believe they just ask you to create these tier sets
I'm gonna be honest with you. The new one they did is pretty good, but yours is actually leagues better. The weird penguin flaps on the sides of the skirt on the official one are meh.
Your Judgement Set was way better!
I agree that Bloodfang set could've been better, I would love to see your attempt to remake it! ^^
Btw DK and DH set are base on the intro quest sets in Acherus and Mardum.
You ate Blizzard lunch and Blizzard is like "would you like seconds?"
to be fair, starting gear of demon hunters isn't the roast you think, because they started at level 90 originally lol
I like how the DK set has an open waist coat but theyre still forcing the plate dress on paladins
Even the arathi set has it
for me C: Shaman Hunter Rogue Evoker B: Mage Priest A: Druid Warrior Monk S: Paladin Warlock and Death Knight AND for me DH is not as bad as F but its for sure D maybe E
PS. Demo Warlock is REALY fun to play this Xpack so that AND the fact its t2 set is SOOOOOO nice has made me start rethinking my main(Paladin)
I think the main reason why yours is better is the tassels on the dress look separate tassels on yours but more like a solid mass in their version.
I HATE that the judgment helmet is ANGRY, it doesnt need to be.
Swap Driud and Monk, and Swap Warrior and DK...Also Hunter should be Low A, or High B Tier. Otherwise pretty good list
Let’s be honnest everyone who saw your judgement remake wished it was gonna be yours in the game.
I personally would pay for it in the shop if it was yours!
11:16 oh my god, ive seen that model on sketchfab its gorgeous, i love that its abit more stocky, almost 40k-ish imo
that model > your remake > blizzards remake (which im still more than happy with, just saying)
also IMO the hunter set (both original and remake) deserve to go into their own tier below F tier like honestly this is where the "hunter sets suck 99% of the time" trend started, tier 1 is questionable but tier 2 is awful
Ten storms has been my favorite set in game since vanilla. I was very happy with this remake.
The Demon Hunter "Teir 2" set should just be pants and a blindfold.
Maybe wearable tattoos that glow.
