- I wrote the first part of this song a couple months ago and decided to finish it in my own time with no plans of releasing it, mostly because I figured no one would care about it.
But after a wonderful livestream earlier tonight I decided to put this out. It is the most personal I've ever gotten with a song, talking about the experiences of being in the MLP fandom during its peak to how it is now that the show is over. Although things were rocky and not perfect, I just can't help but miss it and feel that loneliness from time to time of what once was.
Also I might end up deleting this cause right now it's an a crazy decision to post this at 2am. We will see.

I can hear the emotion in your voice. This was something that came from the heart. Non of the musicians today do this anymore.
Your right, not many, if any musicians give the music that is in the heart a chance to come to life anymore... Ashley I don't normally comment on anything, but I do love listening to what you produce no matter if it is your episodes which is what originally got me hooked or if it is a bit of music... your tunes are really catchy to the point I find myself annoying my parents by singing them at random times. I hope you don't lose confidence in yourself because you are super talented and it would be a shame for that talent to go to waste.
Please don’t delete this. I just revisited your video about how MLP changed your life - and just from hearing your voice again here, your passion for this fandom moves me to tears. I think we all need reminders like this about how wonderful this show was and how it changed us all for the better.

I got into the fandom quite late, between 2016 and 2017, but it nevertheless gave me a lot of of fun for over 3 years. It inspired me to dream and create things so beautiful, abstract, and creative. Thanks to this show I began to write, not only about MLP, but other topics in general. In general, it gave me a feeling of true artistic freedom. The only regret is that I never really got to experience pony-related con. Oh well.
Now, I am buried in my studies. It seems everything is fine. I have a relatively good life. However, I do miss the show. It reminded me of this feeling, with little to no tangibility, I got as a child when looking at something beautiful. It put me at ease. Now, everything seems serious and heavy.
So yes, I do relate. And please don't delete it. In many ways, this is a story of many. Details and feelings may vary, but the message remains the same.
I myself too really miss the big days of the fandom. But just because it's gotten smaller and smaller, It isn't gonna stop me from caring about this fandom or the show one bit. This song did give me a tear cause I myself question weather I myself can still have a moment in this fandom. But I'm still gonna try not only that but also to make some friends that feel almost impossible for me to make at my current home. Great job once again Ashley. You are still an amazing person and artist and I wish you the best always.

As someone who literally grow up with the series...this is quite a beautiful masterpiece Ashley ... the rhythm is calm while a bit sappy and so nostalgic...I mean for me that "funny feeling" means those times when the series was still on earlier seasons and let's just say MLP for quite some time became my highlight of the day.. and life.Those times were I feel that loneliness and that time it all was over...my situation I mean ..bullying ..and there was always something happening at home..I got to high school and it was such a large process to recover from everything..maybe it still lingers.. even with all the friendships I had made ..but in all this journey from when I was still a little child till now...My little Pony was there..and that's why there is "That funny feeling" in me ....

I feel my heart
I started watching MLP sometime after it had ended. And I was touched by so many things within this wonderful series. From its character, it's music and the lessons this show it wanted to teach. I've always struggled with loneliness and this show helped save me and gave me hope that one day I'd find a friend group that would help me fill the void within my heart that has always been there since losing someone close to me. It's your choice whether you delete this or not but know this means a lot to me. I miss this show everyday but nothing last forever but songs like these help give us that funny feeling that this show gave us. Thank you Ashley and I wish you the best in whatever you do moving forward.
I was tearing up, I want to say so much about this song, but I don't particularly have the words. The show and fandom is very special and changes a lot whether for better or for worse, I'm very sorry to hear all the stuff you have been through with your youtube channel, the song shows a beautiful way to express your emotions and I think it is an important song to keep. Don't delete it, keep fighting your struggles Ashley, I hope everything gets better.
I don't know what to say. I really relate to the message you have put out here Ashley, set to one of my highlights of Bo Burnham's Inside too. During the peak of the fandom we all joke about the show ending and what happens to us afterwards, and here we are. It's definitely a funny feeling to have.

Over the past few years this fandom has had it's bumpy moments, some separating out and some losing the meaning of friendship that the show has taught us but you have always been a beacon of light in the fandom bringing us all together. I know it's hard but you will always have our love and support ♥️ I first found your channel when I saw rememberance and it's what brought me truly into the fandom. I remember getting into it around 2014 my ex guy friend got me into it I remember being so excited asking if they saw the ep when the CMC got their cutie marks and he said said oh he doesn't watch that show any more. It broke my heart. I can't even belive all I have of my classmates are memories. None of them kept in contact. I distract my self by watching all the mlp fan made videos remembering when they were first made how they all almost always start off crappy but then then always get better. Just makes me feel like a kid even if I'm just listening to them while doing chores.

I can relate to all this I found mlp a little late in the game but it was at a low point in life and it feels like it found me at the right time I love it.

This was absolutely beautiful. Your songs always touch the heart. I miss the old fandom too. The new generation seems fun but it’s nothing like the old one and having to move on and find new things is hard. Still, people haven’t forgotten the fandom and though it may not be as popular as it once was it’s still an amazing feeling to be part of it. Keep your head up and keep doing your amazing work! The bittersweet taste of this is palpable. As someone who rode the heights of the “golden years,” but failed to actually make meaningful connections and wishes he could go back to correct all those mistakes, this hits home like a sack of cement. You wonder if the lost opportunities and regrets are worth all that you did, in fact, gain and still have to hold today. It’s a question of being grateful for what you have while holding back the sting of what could have been when you happen to see others with more.
I’m glad this is still up for folks to discover, and I hope it stays up. Trips down memory lane can be painful, but they also serve to remind us equally about what we do have that wouldn’t have happened without those days now past. Thanks for sharing this part of you with us all.
It's good to know that it's been half a year and it's still up :] it's one of those rare songs to put a smile on my lips and tears in my eyes, and Bo's version gets close to that but yours is all the way there. And then the memories attached to the lyrics, oh gods. It's really bloody emotional, in a way that's hard to find but sometimes. Absolutely necessary to get through a day. The melancholy and pain mixed with the recognition that, in the end, we had a good time. And that's what matters. It is genuinely really, really powerful. I hope it can stay around forever. But if one day it does vanish, well, it's like I said earlier here: it's the experiences that matter.

Been a while since I last watched one of your videos waiting patiently for series “Remembrance” to start up again. I know I already commented on this video, but I want to comment to say this: Thinking a bit more on it, I actually think this is one of the most beautiful videos you’ve ever created and one of the most beautiful contributions to the FiM fandom I’ve ever heard.
There’s something I’ve always known and it seems like only certain works like Pixar movies make it clear to me to a point I can recite it again:

Not only is this so beautiful, it’s the most honest and heartfelt contribution to the FiM fandom I’ve seen in years. This was nice queen dorito, again i was late to mlp sorta like around 2016 or 2017 but happy i found the series and still am a fan to this day i think its gonna be 5 years this year, honestly im happy to see not all fans left theres still people making things of gen4 like Storm and ACLP keeping gen4 going for example. I personally see fans keeping gen4 around wether with music, drawings, fan films, or anything heroes💖

I relate so much to this. I’m a working adult and I’m glad I still have the time I get to work on my own stuff. Motivation plays a huge part in a lot of things and all the drama and hate that continues to be given out to artist (even gamers, cuz gaming can also be considered an art form if you think about it) can honestly ruin all of it and make you not want to do anything, the algorithm also doesn’t help a whole lot. It’s so easy nowadays for hate to get tossed around like it’s a game of hot potato, it’s not even funny.
Personally, I like to think that the hate doesn’t get to me, but it does anyway. I’m thankful that MLP could be one of those special escapes for people, especially the massive amount of fan-content that has been put out over the course of 10-ish years that the show had carried on for.
That being said: keep being awesome Ashley. You are one of the best creators on here and I’m glad that I have the pleasure and honor to view your content. Most of the time, it’s content I watch over and over again. You have a fantastic voice and your art skills are just astounding. So… thank you. Thank you for being here and thank you for allowing me to indulge myself in your content.

The emotions & lyrics you placed in this song are so painfully pretty, I almost started sobbing. It’s clear that the experiences mentioned in this song are deeply personal to you, so I understand if you delete this video later. But I’m truly thankful that you shared this with us, even if for a brief moment in time.
I was a child when My Little Pony released, so I never made friends online like you probably did. But I had a older cousin who was just as obsessed with the show as I was. We would spend hours making our own MLP stories with the toys we had. A lot of those stories were inspired by the fanmade series created during the time; like “Princess Trixie Sparkle”, “Bride of Discord”, and so-on. And I know it’s hard to believe, but your UA-cam channel was a huge part of that too. “Remembrance” inspired me & my cousin to continue making our own MLP stories. I honestly can’t thank you enough for that. This show, this fandom, and the stories me & my cousin made with these characters, was my entire childhood. My entire world. It was so so hard to let all that go when she died, and also when MLP ended. If it wasn’t for MLP, I wouldn’t have spent time with my cousin before she passed.
And I can only imagine how difficult it must be for you. You’ve gained lots of friends and followers because of this show…so watching how the end of MLP has effected your UA-cam channel/friendships must be very hard to deal with. I’m sorry you have to go through that. But I’ll always respect you as a talented storyteller/singer even outside of the fandom. I’ll absolutely try to keep up with your videos, even if they are not MLP related. You’re so much more then just a MLP channel. Thank you once again for sharing this song with us. When I first heard the original lyrics, I thought that the funny feeling was, the feeling you get when faced with an absurdity. In the original the absurdities were along the vain of living under capitalism, the internet, and many other things.
I feel the funny feeling of being faced with an absurdity right now. The sense of abandonment from your channel is a strange absudity of the likes I've only seen here.

I have shared my story about this fandom from time to time and tonight I'll share it with you: Flash back to February 2008. I had just had a terrible experience with some druggy roommates in Provo, Utah and wasn't able to get admitted to BYU. After failing to even get a date and feeling defeated, I moved back home. All that "serve an LDS mission and have success in life" talk sort of fell apart...
I prayed; OH did I pray! No sooner had I prayed then I began asking for something quite unexpected: that "people like me" could join in fun and friendship via some as-yet-un-developed medium or social group whose genesis I could not foresee; something "so far out of left-field, no one could have guessed" its inception (those were my EXACT words!) Three years later, on the evening of July 3, 2011, my brother and I were perusing UA-cam, seemingly intent on finding some new animated thing to enjoy. The numerous images of a derp-eye'd pony had piqued our curiosity, compelling us to search for that "FiM" thing. The first result was the PMV "United States of Whatever" with Rainbow Dash (It's no longer on UA-cam). It was interesting enough, but not enough to hold my brother's curiosity, who soon left the room (it was midnight, after all). Digging deeper, I searched for the pilot episode of "FiM." Something compelled me to watch the entire 2-part episode. I watched to the beginning of episode 4 and decided that this was too good to binge-watch and be tired for the 4th; I'd savor it on the 4th (and that was a really good 4th of July, by the way, ponies notwithstanding).
Years later, after seeing the sheer number of people helped by the show and the show's unexpected popularity--its left-field-ness--I remembered that humble prayer from February 2008. The orisons of a defeated young man simply hoping to make the world a better place via something he knew not what.
I'd like to think I played a role in all this. Perhaps Faust was inspired while making the pitch bible. Perhaps the animators and others involved with the show were inspired to not make the show too "kiddy;" they worked hard to make the show appeal to adults. Perhaps, in the early days, social media influencers were inspired to spread content of the show in such a way as to make it interesting to a wide audience (and I mean the EARLY days, like December 2010--a time when I had seen deviant art images of Derpy but had no context and didn't search for the show [could have been a 2010 brony. oh well]).
Did the show help me? Of course! I finished up my Associates and was able to graduate with honors and then transfer into BYU! I graduated with a Philosophy degree in 2015 and am currently working as an accountant (but I could really fill any position). Still working on the dating part but we'll get there...
Don't be sad that G4 is in the past. Perhaps we can retcon and either redo G5 or make G6 amazing!

Hi Ash, I love the song, I really love the song, I was with the fandom at a young age but as life got in the way, I got scattered in between events, but I know how you feel and I know that fandoms go through hard times but like a rose that grew from concrete, something grows to be stronger from hardships
