- The Game Awards revealed Death Stranding 2, the sequel to Hideo Kojima's acclaimed game. Hideo Kojima himself took to the stage to joke about not predicting the future with his follow-up, as well as tease the secrets hidden within the trailer for fans to discover.

I didn't know he died... I used to listen Low Roar even before DS. Seeing they were making the music was one of the many reasons I loved the game as much as I did. I just can't believe... Thank you for mentioning him.

@Aarush Kumar ds1 is not a walking simulator though. I personally hope this game stays true to the strand genre lol.
A lot of us loved that gameplay. Hideo is known for innovating as much as possible with each installment of a series, but I do hope the essence of package delivery, traversal, and logistics is still there.
Yeah DS2 came wayy earlier than I expected lol, even quicker than GoW 5, unless we're still 2 years out from release.

I absolutely loved the first game. One of the coolest game experiences I’ve had in the over 30 years gaming. Can’t wait for this. Hopefully they’ll allow you to connect with people on your friends list to see their world builds instead of random people.

@@Hboogie182 i thoughed the same for the first time , you need to give a time to this game . After playing and progressing you will have a moto , truck and more a lot of cool staff . I don't wanna talk more because of spoiler ;-)
@@Hboogie182 You could say that about a lot of open world games. I think people need to accept a game for what its trying to be, not what you expected it to be. Saw a lot of people expecting a GTA style game because when people see third person/open world thats automatically what they assume

The haters tried so hard to review bomb the first game and affected it initial sales...only to see all of their efforts crumble in vain...the game eventually sold well and more and more people are trying it and appreciating it...and now it all culminated with the game getting a well deserved sequel...they all must be crying right now.
The PC release saved it, it was massively positive. I just can't wait for haters to try to mock this game lol
the negative initial rep was really just salty MGS fanboys who wanted him to go back to Konami and make MGS6, but Konami already burned those bridges, Kojima is independent and very much happy with it, and his work's quality has clearly improved because of it
@@thewanderingartists It's funny the game has a 94% positive reviews on Steam...a website where people cannot write a review without buying the game first....preventing people from review bombing without any basis like we see on Metacritic.

Kojima is the Christopher Nolan of the videogame industry. I can’t wrap my head around a single game he’s written, but I love each and every one. Higher quality of story videogames cannot be achieved by none other than Kojima.

Very happy Death Stranding is getting a sequel. The first is one of my favorite games of all time. Also happy Troy Baker is back as Higgs.

I can see how the story and setting of Death Stranding could be expanded upon, but not so much for the heroic porter gameplay. It seemed like they fully explored it in the first game. Very interesting to see them attempt a sequel. Hopefully they can be more creative with DS2s gameplay than new equipment and silly vehicles like powered monocycles.
I believe in the team, death stranding felt like they were getting there feet wet. Now I think we’re gonna get the Mgs5 of game mechanics.
Delivering don’t make sense now, I hope for a more action game , like mgs with death stranding universe
Oh yeah, I agree, I really don't want Death Stranding 1.5 in terms of gameplay, there's no need for that. Hopefully it's gonna be something completely different, still about delivery, but with different gameplay.

Her shoulders, arms and hands aren’t wrinkled and old anymore. That’s the first thing I noticed. Really looking forward to DS2. The first one was amazing.
DS1 was one of the most solid 10/10s I've ever given a game. It was truly a magical experience that transcended gaming. I could be in the middle of a snowy mountain, out of resources & overloaded & one strangers ladder could be the difference. This is definitely my most anticipated game. 🎮

I actually thought you were talking about Dark Souls 1 here. That's a 10/10. Death Stranding is "only" a 9/10. But yeah I am hyped.

But for me most dreaful moments was a boss fight and no effin enough blood bags or weaponry all empty and then pressing the select button and see all this guys throwing stuff in my direst moment,i loved this game ❤ bust that like button like mad !

I believe kojima saw the feedback and will focus on the story by emphasizjng the story more with action rather than connecting people as it says " should we have connected? " It means no more delivery but rather you as Sam start a new journey as something else
Ohh that's great. Yes having the same gameplay doesn't make sens. Story wise.
It may also mean we SHOULD have, but didn’t.. meaning us as a society, especially given the global isolation we all experienced recently, which he mentioned outright.. I took it more like a warning, like; we didn’t connect and so now we’ve created something worse. Kind of doubling down on the ideo of connection, which fits his very optimistic & hopeful tragedies he inevitably always ends up creating

Part of Kojima's appeal is in his hype cycle. His games' trailers are often filled with teeny tiny hints at the game itself, or promises of hints. The rampant speculation machine that surrounds Kojima games isn't a bug, it's a feature. Very pleased to see a return to Death Stranding, one of the most beloved game experiences I've had.

Well, the first game was actually a big success for the studio and despite what many haters tried to make you believe, it actually sold pretty well...so a sequel was inevitable.

I'm in Chapter 2 of DS1 as I watch this, never played it before and I'm loving it, so different from everything I've played before. Kojima's a legend!
its a great game. I fell in love with it right at the beginning with the beauty and the music and everything. I've played DS1 hundreds of hours even though I finished it just because I loved it so much. It can be a real grind and very difficult depending on what you are trying to do. I bought the Director's Cut as well and have been playing it and I merged the finished one with DC version and can do so many things and still work the missions. I think it depends on the players taste and some call it just a delivery game and that is not true as there is SO much more to it than that. It is the first big game I ever played (aside from GTA5) and I was so thrilled with it I got hooked immediately. The art work alone combined with the music is fantastic. It is a personal choice but I for one am interested in the new DS2 coming out but not too sure I'll like what it contains as they have seemingly made many changes. Enjoy your game, take your time, and just have fun.
I hope we get an updated gameplay. I really loved the first game, the story was fantastic and honestly I didn’t mind the gameplay itself, was quite nice to play as a bit of an ambient experience. But I think I’d really want a more active less busy work kind of feel in a new game… not that I won’t play it anyway lol

I really appreciate this guy depiction of what a video game is. His thoughts that started in Metal Gear Characters came to fruition in Death Stranding. Literally Death Stranding is a Metal Gear game in disguise with a much wilder universe where he can explire his ideas.
The single player game saw the light with Hideo Kojima. I hope this bloke continues his carreer forward. He's doing great.
Death Stranding was not only a great game, it introduced me to two amazing artists in Low Roar and Hoshino Gen, I do hope their music is included in the sequel, especially Low Roar, RIP Ryan you're a legend in the DS Community

So glad I'm alive at the time as DS 1 and 2.
The first death stranding was probably the most beautiful and thought provoking single player game I've ever had the pleasure of experiencing, it took some time for me to get into the game at first but I'm so glad I did. Very few games have left an impact on me as much as this one, can't wait for the next one.
Death stranding is my favourite game ever and I can’t believe we’re getting a second game.. I’ll definitely be playing death stranding again before ds2.
