Yesterday, that happened with the bug fix update for Windows itself. The NET framework preview update installed just fine. A repair install fixed the issue. I'm sure this works too, but I've found that the only way, despite taking longer, is the repair install. That said, I will keep this in mind for next time. Thanks as always, Brian!!
Excellentt video. I was having update issues on Windows 11 24H2. I tweaked too much the services and I thing the issue was from there. I just used the "Recovery" option in Windows 11 and it worked like a charm and made all the updates during the "Recovery".
Interesting, thanks, Brian. I always thought that I had to use the Dsim restore health command before the SFC check and fix. But I can see it can be done the other way too from your video.
Thank Britec for your helpful video on this. As someone who uses Mac, Linux and Windows, I only ever experience update failures with Windows. That’s why once I have finished my job for the day, I gladly shut Windows down and I use macOS and Linux for personal use as it so stable.
Hi Brian, hope this is ok, but I’d like to suggest a topic for a future video, why can’t we swap out old sata ssd drives without a problem, yet when you pull and replace an nvme ssd in to the likes of a surface pro, it requires about 11 boots, and 16 bsods before it plays nice. Thanks for great videos. Teddy
I use Avast as an AV and it's dependent on the Cryptographic Service, so therefor does not allow me to stop that service .... How important is it for that service not to run to do this fix?
Is it safe to say this method would work on updates that get stuck at some point ? four out of five of my last Windows 10 updates caused me great grief. I'll bookmark this video as I have high hopes.
Wait didn't i see an earlier video where you hint people how to install 24H2 on unsupported system and now this happens. Usually windows update troubleshooter does this
That will never happen. They'd have to rehire the code checkers they fired. Using us as their guinea pigs cost them nothing. All of these big corporations seem to have the same motto now. Money Before People.

Do you have a fix for "This app has been blocked for your protection."? Attempt to open services.msc in command prompt. Thanks. HLB

I hate Microsoft, and yes I agree with you that jumping to Linux is not that easy, even with the better flavors like LMDE... Microsoft seems to enjoy making the lives of other people as miserable as possible...
Hi Brian, I've encountered a problem with the installation of Windows 11 pro. I bought a new Minisforum Venus series Mini PC with Windows 11 Home pre-installed on an Kingston SSD 512. So, I would install windows 11 pro on an new Crucial 2 TB SSD, without no prob, but when I try to activate the new installation,i always get the message: you're trying to install windows 11 pro on this computer, but you have running a windows 11 home digital key, please install windows 11 home?!! I don't understand why,the original SSD was removed and I've installed the new one?? Did you have any idea how to proceed?? It's the first time in decades I'm installing OS on computers, that i have this kind of problem without any solutions!! Thanks for your help👍🏼. Greetings from🍷🧀🥖🇫🇷

Thank you, Brian. 🙏🏼👍🏼🤗
My pleasure!
Why does the app store and apps no longer work on 24h2 update? They are broken on my install and can't find a way to fix it.

When I try the ren command it says access denied
The microsoft update catalog doesnt allow me to downloand the update.... it gives an error

My system is still on 21H2 is the window's catalog the way to update them one by one safe method.
Got the updates, is it bug time now! Losing faith in MS!
Maybe if Microsoft would work on making Windows rock solid instead of increasing its use as a spy tool, we wouldn't have problems like this.

Windows is becoming an Advertising tool to sell other products for MS and other Companies.
On "ren C:\Windows\System32\catroot2 catroot2.old" Part, on my CMD said "Access is denied"
I had this problem, I tried again the next day and it worked. I guess I got lucky.
New microphone? It's noticeably clearer.

Try Mint Cinnamon, everything just usually works.
For the Microsoft update thing it won’t install it
The last thing I want to do is to get this update to work.
We need another OS option that works on PCs. Mac OS is just too expensive. Someone needs to develop an offshoot of MS Windows.
Linux??

You can't use a win 11 home license key to activate, Win pro. You need a new key for that.
@@STONE69_ I've bought a new Windows 11 Pro key, and it doesn't work😤😡.
His Voice COuld teach The worst of kids..
I did a clean install
Why, oh why, does Update say it needs to restart, and then after clicking "Restart", it continues to process before rebooting??
Close that Window, and reboot from the start menu, never use that button in updates to reboot.
@@STONE69_ Thanks. Will try.

This update is buns it broke my keyboard and idk how to fix it

NOpe.. I'm going to LTSC
Luckily Turkey bans Brawl stars game soon, Turkey already banned roblox so, Microsoft Windows and macOS users are slowly down in Turkey than Linux 👍
No problems with my updates. I shut them down, permanently. I'm willing to take the risk.
I too shut off mine permanently shortly after 23H2. I still update .NET / C runtimes, Drivers, Browser and Apps but not letting MS do anything else.
