- In this video, I'll show you how to make your own Pro Mist Filter using a few things you might already have lying around in your house. I hope that after watching this video you'll have the courage to try and make your own pro mist filter! It's actually very simple, easy and a lot of fun!
.
I recently purchased a Fujifilm X-Pro 3 and I wanted to get a dedicated promist filter but, I didn’t want to adapt my bigger filters to my tiny lens because I wanted to keep my setup small and compact.
.
But I also didn’t want to buy another pro mist filter because, as you might already know, they’re not exactly easy on the pockets. So I decided to make some and I wanted to show you how you can make your own Pro Mist Filters too!

This is probably the best DIY diffusion filter tutorial on YT. Thanks so much!
Thanks so much! This means a lot! ❤️
There's an old-school method that's similar to the clingwrap method, but you use black pantyhose instead. Much more durable than clingwrap.
Hey james! Yeah! I also wanted to do that actually, just didn’t have one lying around haha! Thanks for watching! Really appreciate it! 🙏

Hey Giovanni! Thanks for watching! Interesting! I’ve always wanted to try the black spray too, but the cling wrap blew my mind 🤯😂
Aaaah man! You never fail to amaze and entertain me. These are awesome ideas! And you bet there will be a hairspray or black spray paint on my next purchase. Looool. Great work bro!! 🔥

@@ThePinoyTravellerinNewZealand thannk you bro! excited to see your results!!! 😁
Galing ah
Thanks Max!
How about covering up the middle of the UV filter before applying the hairspray/spraypaint? Wouldn’t that add a nice gloom without tacking all the sharpness from the center?
that actually sound like a. really interesting experiment!
May i ask what's the difference of k&f black pro mist 1/4 to a 1/8? Great vid btw. 👌
hey Phen! thanks! the difference lies in the strength of the filter. so a 1/4 strength will make your images "Dreamier" than the 1/8 :)
Here’s me just being lazy and buying them 😝 maybe I’ll give this a go one day!
🤣😂🤣 if i had extra money, i would too for sure! In the mean time, gotta improvise a bit 😂🤣😂
bro how do you edit all these effects! I'm trying to get my style like yours but I use davinci resolve. have any solution? Any page you could recommend for me to learn more about after effects animations so I can get that Vox animation look?
can i do this on polarizer filter
and spray with white paint?
This video is amazing! Its the firsttime I see this and I have been watching tons of filmaker video’s over the past couple of years!
Maybe change the title to “how to make a mist filter”? A change the thumb so the text is more clear..?
Because i am not native English and it wasn’t clear immediately to me 😌
I clicked because its a video of you 😁
Btw i made my first talkinghead video 1st of this year, what do think?
Hey Emiel! thanks so much for watching and thanks for the tips! Really appreciate it! ❤🙏
@@JustinEspejo your welcome, i love your style 👊🏻
I don't even need to make a mist filter, my old lenses with fungus give the same looking veiling. 😁
Hahahaa damn ☠️😂
Have you also been having an issue with the hair spray method, where the particles sometimes "fall" on the lens element? It's fairly easy to clean, so I guess that's something you just need to accept.
DIY anamorphic lens or DIY ND filter, if any?
cling film over the end of the lens , no need for the step up rings ?
Could work but the step up rings make it easy to put on and remove if you need to. It basically becomes another filter “glass” 😊
frigging cling wrap !
Do you catch the hairspray droplets on the outside part of the filter?
I did it on the inside :)
yung Cling wrap surprisingly best effect!
Hahaha dreammmmyyyyyyy! Thanks gab! Saya nga nya!
Do you have a pro Mist filter on your glasses? looks like it (:
I'd NEVER spray paint on the INSIDE of a uv filter, because chemicals can harm the treatments on the lens glass.
but
when you showed the comparison I was like "yeah I don't like the hairspray and the black paint method, look at the real filter, it looks better" and then I learnt that it was the transparent wrap
my brain:🤯
how can a transparent wrap look better than an actual filter
hahah thanks for watching man! yeah, the clingwrap is pretty 🤯🤯🤯🤯
effort yung #3 haaaaa
Haha hndi naman! Madali lang sya, klngan lang talaga may step up rings, pero ezzzz haha
