Note since this is not entirely clear, don't put the vaseline directly on your lens.

Quick tip for the awesome bokeh shapes: try using cutout stamps that scrapbookers use - so many options for shapes and a clean cut without messing around with hand cutting.
Arts and crafts stores have those stamps.
These tips are awesome! I'm going to restrain myself from using the custom bokeh one in every single shot in particular.
The world is my lobster!!!
It's Oyster
What?
again.... WHAT!
The plannet is my shelfish!
This was a really fun episode! The humor felt a lot like episodes from a few years ago, and this had great DIY tips that professionals probably still use even if they have the actual filters. I had heard the bokeh shape tip before, but these examples really sold it for me. I seriously have to try it!
I dig this. I love Film Riot DIY, almost as much as I love Ryan 💕
+Andy Zagar
Andy Zagar Oh don't say that i know you love Josh more💔
*u guys! (and Ryan! :) )*
Can you use a *Variable ND Filter* + AND slap a *BLACK PRO MIST* filter on it at the same time? Will the image degrade a lot using 2 filters at once?
+ + Also, is Pro Mist 1/2 is too much? Would you recommend to stick to the 1/4? its like SUPER subtle...
Ryan, you had bits of funniness sprinkled all throughout this episode and I loved it! Well done you made me laugh dangerously hard :D
Awesome! Thanks man. :)
so creative, love it dudes
Original Film Riot!
Stuart Evans Hey Ben how is Justice League going?
fancy seeing you here
the humor was on point in this video. even though it always is, but this one..this one is special. thank you guys
I LOVE THIS!!! The tips are so cool, and Ryan and Josh are hysterical. I am cracking up over here! LOL
I have in the past used hairspray on a UV filter. You could also try deodorant spray because it's often a white powder spray that can create a white diffusion filter.
Thats a nice way to mimic the glimmerglass filter look
This Justin and Bob bit is my favorite! Haha! Please let this be a reoccurring thing.
This is the funniest episode in a long time. Good. Good job.
Good Advice from Ryan as always,
used some of the past ones in my videos. Keep on making great Content!
Great video as always! I think I'm going to try out these effects for myself and see how it turns out!

When are yall going to have merch in your store again? Been looking to get a Film Riot shirt!
Hi there, just wondering what lens you were using for the outdoor shots? Thanks!
The sketch made me press the like button 😁
The Bob segues are killing me!!
this is amazing
I'm upset Film Riot episodes are still only available in HD. We need 4K, Ryan! Great episode regardless (as usual)!
One other place for unusual filters: the used filter bin at your local camera store. Many camera stores still keep a giant, jumbled box of miscellaneous filters that have come in with other old equipment. These can be gold mines or a total waste of time, but it's always interesting.
Thanks so much!
Yeah, I actually seen a bin like that in my local camera store.
The stuff they have there is... wow, sometimes.
#retro #vintage #old but "cool"
I think we need an entire short film focused on Bob.
Hey Ry Guy, do you recommend a set of NDs over a variable ND? Which is better/more effective?
amazing, dude
Thank you for this
I don't own a camera but very much passionate about it so just curious to know that can we use 2 filters together? Like what if we are on a outdoor shoot and we want to use ND as well black pro mist filter/cinebloom or polarizer filter or uv filter together?
Why wouldn't it work?
This is great thank you
can you show me how to create a hole I mean breaking up a ground if you have already created that please send me a link
Aaaawesomness!
I have had a lot of fun!
That sponsor time bit was amazing haha

Thank you from Brazil.
the 'good. good job' was a nice touch.
Thank you !!!
6:09 - Custom Shaped Bokeh Ballsacks
Quick question (and this might be a stupid one, but I haven't tried it yet cause I don't have a UV filter lying around)
Would it make sense to buy a couple of cheap UV filters if you're planning on using vaseline, highlighters etc. for different stylized effects? Or would you be alright washing off the vaseline, highlighter from just the one UV filter? I imagine it would be hard to get it spotless afterwards
Make your own filters and keep them separate, if you can :)
Don't think you can wipe vaseline so easily, haha.
So, grab some little sealed sample bags too :))
The Vaseline man! Part 2!! :-D
THIS EPISODE WAS SICKER THAN A POLIO RAT WITH BUBONIC PLAGUE.
What camera was used to film the video outdoors?
Thank you so much⭐⭐🌠⭐⭐
